Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1056: Chapter 28: The Explosive Power of the Armor!

”Hmph!” Souwu was well-prepared for Jia Yan’s attack.

His more than twenty-meter-long body suddenly spread its wings like a large bird, then soared to the low altitude of only about ten meters above the ground.

Naturally, Jia Yan would not let him go, his heart growing even colder as he pursued.

The relationship between the two, harmonious for integeral tens of days, finally tore apart today!

Speaking of their strengths, the difference wasn’t too significant between them. It’s just that Jia Yan had almost exposed all his aces, while Souwu was a Venerable Three-headed Monster unknown in age. Even if his current strength had weakened to the extreme, as a Starry Sky Sovereign, who knows how many more tricks he had that Jia Yan was unaware of; Jia Yan couldn’t guarantee.

But none of these were reasons for Jia Yan to give up.

Two crazily pursuing figures kept charging forward within the Foggy Area!

Roar!

Right in front of them, a Respected level monster with an imposing figure and three heads suddenly burst out from the mist!

Utilizing the cover of fog, one of its heads lunged directly, targeting none other than Jia Yan.

The monster seemed to have not the slightest interest in Souwu, the old beast, as if Souwu’s flesh and blood had lost all appeal to it.

If Jia Yan wished to pursue Souwu, he had to face this Venerable Three-headed Monster’s attack. However, the creature’s strength was far too formidable for Jia Yan, and he didn’t know whether he would get hurt after its onslaught.

But Jia Yan didn’t spend too much time thinking before he proudly lifted his head. A faint azure color emerged from his body, and a Condensation Fluid surged on his body’s surface. After several encounters with the Venerable Three-headed Monster, Jia Yan wasn’t without any means; as long as he deployed his defenses in advance, he could block the attacks to the greatest extent!

Sure enough, as the three-headed beast approached Jia Yan, it employed its Environmental Control Ability, which Jia Yan still didn’t understand well. But that didn’t stop Big Mosquito from cracking this move!

His condensation fluid merged directly with the frosty fog chunks bearing down on him, dissolving them.

”Roar!” Seeing that its Environmental Control Ability was futile, the three-headed beast let out an extremely frustrated and furious roar.

Simultaneously, one of its heads was biting down, its mouth drooling over the thought of Big Mosquito’s flesh.

This Respected level monster had tasted Jia Yan’s ’flavor’ just a few days ago. Craving for Big Mosquito’s flesh, which seemed tantilizing like ’Tang Monk Meat’, it had obsessed over it for several days. Now the greatest opportunity was before it—how could it possibly let go? So, it didn’t even spare Souwu a glance!

Swoosh!

Souwu, ahead, spotted Big Mosquito entangled by the Venerable Three-headed Monster and a look of realization flashed in his eyes. His speed suddenly increased, and he flew higher, making it less likely to be ambushed by other three-headed monsters.

Flying low was a deliberate act by Souwu—after all, he was an old beast who had lived for who knows how long. Even without Jia Yan saying anything, in these past few days, he realized that most of the turmoil and pursuit by the three-headed monsters in the entire area were aimed at Jia Yan. So now, he took the risk of flying low, deliberately heading toward the Venerable Three-headed Monster chasing him, and indeed, the creature ignored him, clutching the Chaos Fruit, and lunged toward Jia Yan behind him.

”This Jia Yan, I don’t know what these three-headed monsters see in him, that even the sacred level three-headed monsters are so crazily capturing him!” Souwu watched as Big Mosquito was dragged to a halt by the Venerable Three-headed Monster and immediately picked up his speed again.

”But regardless of his secrets, to me, this Chaos Fruit is the best thing right now! Haha, with it, my chances of advancing will greatly increase. Once I reach Stellar level, all the secrets and dangers of the Star Space level become insignificant.”

Souwu looked at the Chaos Fruit grasped in his claws, the creature relentlessly wailing. But in Souwu’s claws, it had no chance to escape.

Seeing Souwu constantly flying away ahead, Jia Yan, dragged to a halt by the Venerable Three-headed Monster behind, became somewhat frantic, continuously dodging left and right!

”This Souwu is really treacherous! If his concealment towards me wasn’t this extensive, maybe I would have even helped him. But now, for me, the old guy’s actions have crossed my line. Our relationship has long transcended friendship; it’s enemy, not ally!”

Jia Yan glared angrily at the Lord level three-headed beast, which seemed not at all perturbed by being pawned. To it, no matter what role it was given to play, having another taste of Jia Yan’s flesh was its utmost pleasure, and maybe, its greatest chance for a breakthrough was Jia Yan’s flesh. So, it burst forth with all its strength.

It couldn’t believe Jia Yan would escape unscathed under its full force!

”It seems this guy won’t stop until he’s captured me. Hasn’t he noticed that my resistance to him has strengthened too? Just like a persistent spirit.” Jia Yan’s gaze was chilling. For Souwu’s overall control of this action and the repeated overwhelming strength of these three-headed monsters, Jia Yan’s anger had always been simmering.

Regrettably, his strength was still insufficient, or else he would have wanted to seek revenge on each of them one by one.

”Forget it, now’s not the time to fight this three-headed monster. I must break free from its entanglement and pursue Souwu!”

Jia Yan had made his decision when, coincidentally, a massive maw descended from the sky, enveloping him completely as if to swallow him whole.

Amid the dust-strewn assault, a figure rapidly sliced through the air. His form was like a meteor from outer space, circling half-way around the base of the Three-headed Monster’s body and then soaring towards the sky.

However, a Respected level monster was not so easily dealt with. As Jia Yan’s speed picked up, another of the creature’s heads, as if having anticipated the move, lunged forward and bit firmly onto one of Jia Yan’s hind legs!

”Get off me!” Jia Yan, feeling a sharp pain transmitting from his bitten leg and realizing the strength of his opponent, unleashed a fierce aura that burst forth violently.

He struck viciously with his other leg!

At the same time, a move that Jia Yan, now of Star-level High Rank, had never used before, and one that monsters like Souwu had never seen, suddenly erupted.

That was the ’burst’ ability of the Latest Armor that Jia Yan had purchased!

The burst of power activated by Brainwave Power!

It wasn’t that Jia Yan hadn’t faced opponents before that could have drawn out this power, but this burst powered by the armor’s built-in energy source offered significant help for a typical Star level individual; however, for a top-tier Star level like Jia Yan, it didn’t make much of a difference—merely increasing his power by a fraction of a percent.

Of course, the power that Jia Yan was now unleashing came at the cost of mechanical damage—a robust burst that enhanced his strength by about twenty percent!

With a whoosh, a jet of Flame shot out of the damaged armor. The kinetic energy it generated propelled Big Mosquito’s body forcefully forward.

And the mouth that had been biting onto Big Mosquito’s hind leg was, for a moment, not clamped down tightly enough, allowing Jia Yan to break free!

The Venerable Three-headed Monster never anticipated that Jia Yan could unleash such terrifying Energy instantly; had it been prepared, perhaps Jia Yan wouldn’t have escaped its maw, but due to its oversight, Jia Yan managed to escape!

The infuriated roar of the Three-headed Monster followed behind Jia Yan.

But Jia Yan had already used the burst power of the armor to escape from the area, flying away.

Crack, crack!

However, mid-flight, Jia Yan felt the armor he wore emitting strange, troubled noises, and then it simply stopped working.

”Good buddy, although you only did your job once, you saved my life. I’ll find a way to repair you in the future,” Jia Yan sighed, looking down at the armor on his body.

For him, each piece of Armor had ultimately become part of his body, a sentimental way of remembrance.

And this armor, although always aware of how it worked and its significant assistance to him, had faced a sacred level monster on its first activation and had utterly lost function due to the overload—it had served its purpose well, to be sure. After all, it was a sacred level monster.

”Souwu!”

With his armor damaged, Jia Yan no longer held any feelings of friendship for Souwu, who had caused all this!

He suddenly increased his speed and then crashed into the horizon!

Not far away, on a piece of ground.

A monster quietly came to a stop behind a tall mountain.

Unexpectedly, there was an entrance to a cave of moderate size.

Souwu clutched the Chaos Fruit, which was the size of a buffalo, in his claw. At this moment, the creature seemed to have lost consciousness, allowing Souwu to drag it into the cave.

”Iʼve purposely drawn Jia Yan away these past few days and dug this cave. Now, it comes in handy. If Jia Yan does manage to escape the chase of the Three-headed Monster, he will surely look for me back at the Battleship. But he will never be able to find me here!” thought Souwu excitedly.

”Of course, it’s more likely that the guy will be killed directly by the Three-headed Monster. After all, it’s the same creature that managed to kill another Lord Level teammate from my previous squad!”

Souwu didn’t dwell on Jia Yan’s life or death. Instead, at this moment, the Chaos Fruit in his hand piqued his excitement and interest vastly.

He entered the cave only out of instinctual concern for safety.
