Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1077: Chapter 8: A New Way to Fight? [Second Update]

”A better suggestion? Let’s hear it.”

Jia Yan, upon hearing Men Bo’s words, suddenly became somewhat interested.

”My suggestion is... what if your side is employed by my Hao Tower Alliance, to help us win this war?” Men Bo threw out a sentence that was very impactful.

”Uh?” Jia Yan was startled, then his expression changed.

His thoughts on the Northern Star Domain were to avoid as much fighting as possible in the early stages, since he had a purpose here, not only to go to that so-called ancestral land, Kama, to create an avatar, but also to inquire and see if there was a way to return to Earth.

But now Men Bo was inviting him to join a war, just as he had arrived in the Northern Star Domain, which was quite off the original course he had envisioned.

”I’m sorry, but I can’t accept that. As you know, I’ve just arrived here and don’t want to get involved in the battle of the Northern Star Domain at this time,” Jia Yan replied indifferently.

”Is that so? That’s too bad. Then, let me think about how to offer you some compensatory materials, and I will give you a satisfactory answer after some time,” Men Bo replied somewhat helplessly.

After the negotiation with Men Bo ended, Jia Yan turned the communicator back on and held a remote communication meeting within the Giant Mosquito Fleet in the guest room to discuss the overall war situation.

”It turns out that the Red Tower Alliance’s forces have also come to attack; it seems that the Hao Tower Alliance really may not be able to withstand this crisis!”

After the communication ended, Jia Yan had a direct grasp of the war situation.

”Lord!” Just as Jia Yan was contemplating how to leave this whirlpool, a communication from Mo Ke came through Jia Yan’s communicator.

This Mo Ke, after several minor actions, had fallen out of favor with Jia Yan, relegating him to a second-tier Commander. No matter how good a commander, if he didn’t listen to Jia Yan, he was useless to him.

And now this fellow had been sent out by Jia Yan to serve as an intelligence officer, and given his considerable ability, he had obtained the news of the Red Tower Alliance’s attack in no time, preventing the Giant Mosquito Fleet from being kept in the dark.

”What’s the matter?” Jia Yan was still somewhat concerned about his communication, knowing that Mo Ke, after realizing he had lost favor, had just buried himself in work, not directly contacting Jia Yan unless it was essential, hoping to restore his status in Jia Yan’s eyes through hard work.

”Lord, the Red Tower Alliance’s recent proclamation of war has even included our Giant Mosquito Fleet. They are calling us invaders of the Northern Star Domain and have added a charge of collusion with the Hao Tower Alliance. This gives them an even better excuse to attack the Hao Tower Alliance. And we have been naturally made another prime target!”

”Damn.” Jia Yan was dumbstruck. The excuse they found was really impeccable.

They indeed came from the Desolate Star System, which relied a lot on the Northern Star Domain, and most of the forces within it had countless ties to the Northern Star Domain. Now, these guys were making such absurd excuses.

But they indeed were Outsiders, and if the others clung to that point, Jia Yan, even with a hundred mouths, wouldn’t be able to talk his way out of it.

”The Red Tower Alliance really has played a good hand, even sorting out the excuse to attack the Hao Tower Alliance.” Jia Yan lamented the move by the Red Tower Alliance, but soon he felt a headache coming on, wondering what his fleet should do.

”Kama, pass the word, the fleet enters a Grade A alert status. I’m sure the Hao Tower Alliance has received this news too, and will contact me after some time.” Jia Yan shook his head helplessly. Now, it seemed pointless not to cooperate.

He had just looked at the Red Tower Alliance’s attack routes, nearly blocking all main starry sky lanes of the Hao Tower Alliance. After all, battleships need a certain stable path to enter superluminal space distortion. Otherwise, the entire battleship wouldn’t be able to travel at superluminal speeds. Now that the Red Tower Alliance had blocked the paths, his Giant Mosquito Fleet was also enclosed within the Hao Tower Alliance.

Sure enough, after a conversation with a few subordinates, Men Bo contacted him again.

And this time, the nature of the contact was not the same as before; Jia Yan had to accept the cooperation.

”Alright, Mister Jia Yan, we accept your terms, as long as we can defeat the Red Tower Alliance’s forces this time, whatever your conditions are, I accept them. But I have a request, could you let Old Tower use the Life-Extension Stone?” After a long discussion, Men Bo made a bold statement.

At any other time, Jia Yan would never have agreed. But now, after thinking it over, he nodded with some reluctance: ”Fine, but please also expedite the delivery of some of the supplies we need, especially the enhanced armor for the battleships. My fleet can then get closer to the Red Tower Alliance’s main battleships.”

”It’s a deal.”

...

In the Universe, within a massive vessel, Jia Yan led hundreds of high-ranking members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet in a pre-war meeting.

”Everyone, I apologize, I really didn’t want our fleet to get involved in the war in the Northern Star Domain just like that, but the Red Tower Alliance won’t easily let us leave this time, so we must join the war. However, we are not the main force in this war. Please be prepared for a level-one war readiness. I’m not very clear on the details, but this war will be the first large-scale war that our Giant Mosquito Fleet has participated in, and we must be cautious!”

”Yes, Lord!”

The subordinates of the Giant Mosquito Fleet rubbed their hands together in anticipation. To most of these fellows, the war in the Northern Star Domain was something they looked forward to. After all, how could one be a soldier without a sense of aggression?

To make a name for themselves, they had to work hard to strengthen the Giant Mosquito Fleet, and the fastest way to increase a fleet’s strength was through war.

”This time the Hao Tower Alliance has specifically carved out a region for us to station ourselves, right here...”

As Jia Yan stepped down from the peak podium used to raise morale, Kama stepped forward briskly, pointing directly at a starfield map, and began plotting the war.

However, Jia Yan didn’t understand much about this and just listened while thinking about other things.

In this war, the overall strength of their Giant Mosquito Fleet wasn’t really that large. What the Hao Tower Alliance truly valued was Jia Yan’s personal strength. The number of battleships was not considered a big difference, but the opposition’s flanking forces included four commanders of Lord Level. Personal combat power might not seem strong in a large group war, but when the forces were evenly matched, the strength of a Strong One could easily become the straw that broke the camel’s back.

This was also the reason why the Hao Tower Alliance valued Jia Yan so highly. Moreover, the Giant Mosquito Alliance possessed not only the Strong One Jia Yan but also the vital materials to revive the combat power of another Strong One who might be more powerful than Men Bo – that monkey-like monster, Old Tower. The Hao Tower Alliance could not help but place the Giant Mosquito Fleet on an extremely high level.

”The Hao Tower Alliance has obviously decided to protect our Giant Mosquito Fleet. Our base is actually in the center area surrounded by the Hao Tower Alliance’s main forces, only a mere seven million kilometers from Hao Tower Star.”

As Jia Yan absorbed Kama’s speech, he analyzed the situation to himself. At that moment, the Light Shadow Monster hidden beneath the diaphragm issued a faint voice.

”Jia Yan, with your current strength, it is very dangerous to fight in large-scale group wars. Although you possess strong defensive power, starry sky battles, especially against battleships, have always been your weak point. I’m very worried about you.”

”Senior, you know my strength. Although I can’t cause much damage to a large-scale group army on my own, it should not be that easy for them to hurt me. Besides, you’ve seen the situation. I have no choice but to join the battle,” Jia Yan communicated with the senior using his Brainwave Power.

After detaching from the Adisa, the Light Shadow Monster lost its nimbleness and would often shut down its speaking ability due to insufficient energy. Now, it actively speaking to Jia Yan was the first time in quite a while.

After hearing Jia Yan’s words, the Light Shadow Monster contemplated for a long time.

”Sigh, I didn’t want to teach you how to fight against group armies so early, because it would waste a lot of time, and once you reach Stellar Level, these methods become quite redundant. But now that you’ve run into such a situation, it would be too dangerous not to teach you. Find a place far away from this fleet, and I will instruct you,” it said to Jia Yan.

”Senior, you have a way to fight against large groups of enemies?” Jia Yan was delighted.

Previously, he had thought that Senior Light and Shadow only intended to teach him individual combat methods. Jia Yan always wanted to ask about techniques for fighting group enemies, but he hesitated because it would be embarrassing if the senior had none.

But now the other party indicated that such methods existed but had not been disclosed before to save Jia Yan’s time.

”Good, I’ll leave right now!”

In front of all his subordinates, Jia Yan spoke to Kama and then left his seat.

Luckily, his departure did not attract much comment from the subordinates since Jia Yan’s unfamiliarity with military matters was well known throughout the fleet.

Jia Yan left the Camp-Level Spaceship without using a battleship and flew into the vast universe alone, while the soldiers who opened the hangar doors watched his departing figure with great envy.

”Kama, I will be training in starry space for a while. If the first batch of resources from the Hao Tower Alliance arrives, give them the Life-Extension Stone. If any unusual events happen, contact me using the emergency communication,” Jia Yan sent such a communication message to Kama while in flight.
