Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5038 Into The Warring Realm

A shimmering spatial gate materialized in mid-air against the backdrop of the tumultuous, stormy dark clouds. It was raining, droplets shattering the buildings and pavement of the city below with a heavy force. The gate that appeared to be a blend of black and silver radiating an otherworldly glow.

Two people stepped out from the spatial gate and looked around.

The first thing they noticed was a ruined city below, flattened not by the heavy rain that struck the ground like ballistic arrows but by a battle that seemed one-sided.

With the black-silver Temporal Voidplane Ring in his hand, Davis didnʼt even need to do anything as the raining arrow of darkness water droplets splattered as a spatial barrier enveloped him. With Fairy Qiyra Darkstar standing close, she also didnʼt need to do anything.

Yet, the atmosphere in the realm was gloomy, and the mood was quite overcast, as though the hopeful rays of the Solar Reverence would never reach this place.

As a life and death cultivator, Davis could tell that there were many souls that had died. He could even spot ghosts hidden under the rubble.

He had been paying attention to the intel received by their newly established intelligence organization, and it seems like there was a sudden spike in cases relating to incidents such as the emergence of ghosts and undead corpses.

With heaven and earth energy gone awry, all kinds of changes were taking place.

The increasing cases of cultivators starving, getting sick, resorting to murdering and pillaging were the least of their worries. Dangerous entities such as Void Calamities and Realm Calamities had started appearing more frequently, and there were frequent bursts of Vacuous Beast Clouds that sent Vacuous Beasts down to kill everything in their vicinity.

Davis had imagined what an apocalypse would be like, and now that he felt the concentration of heaven and earth energy here, he was convinced.

The energy here wouldnʼt even support a damned Immortal Emperor. It was very thin, totally different from the time he had left this realm after finishing his tribulation.

”I canʼt believe I listened to you and came all the way here.” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar commented coldly.

Davis turned to glance at her.

He couldnʼt believe it either, but he, Jaiyan, Laphria Rinmei, and Mingzhi had tried to convince her for days when she was adamantly against it, knowing it wouldnʼt end well.

Why? Because the Celestial Transcendent would obviously be here.

”You are free to leave right now, but of course, I would love to have a significant force tagging along with us.”

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar didnʼt respond as though she was just complaining.

Davis simply smiled, knowing she was tired.

He had planned to set out in three days, but a lot of things happened at home, and the load Fairy Qiyra Darkstar had to carry was more, so they had no choice but to make more trips, even if they were jumping from one star to another.

Hence, even if Fairy Qiyra Darkstar just used astral energy, she should definitely be spent and would need some time to recover.

Fortunately, it seemed like war didnʼt break out until a day ago, so he guessed that they still had time to do what they planned.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar was slightly annoyed with his words.

As if she could leave after she brought her junior brother and sisters here. He was saying just to gloat that she couldnʼt leave even if she wanted to!

She felt he had become more daring after he became an Empyrean and even became a Level Three Empyrean in a short time, although she didnʼt know how he managed to raise two levels within two months.

It was quite shocking, considering she was aware that his prowess was somewhere at the Mid Exalt Stage. She wondered how he found resources that were compatible with his ridiculous powers.

Nonetheless, the two of them continued to move using the Temporal Voidplane Ring that allowed them to move hundreds of billions of kilometers by traversing one spatial gate each time. It made traveling extremely easy. Moreover, with heaven and earth energy less dense but spatial layers maintaining the same durability, it became harder to use spatial gates or spatial tunnels, but to Davis, who owned the replica of the space-attribute apex treasure, it was extremely easy to manipulate space as though he were a fish who roamed the sea.

However, this was still too slow.

”Uhm, do you have an High-Level Exalt Grade Battleship or a larger flying ship capable of Spatial Propulsion travel?”

After entering and exiting the spatial gate for the fourth time, Davis hesitantly turned around to ask.

Since the realm was around nine to ten quintillion kilometers long, even traveling hundreds of billions of kilometers would still take somewhere around fifty to a hundred years to go from one end to the other.

Naturally, the Temporal Voidplane Ring was capable of traversing a vaster distance, but it wasnʼt good to use so much energy on it.

Davis would not be able to replenish it by forcing the heaven and earth energy since it was extremely thin, but he didnʼt want to waste the Exalt Stage soul essences that were anchored in his soul sea either.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar glared at him without a change in her expression.

Was he going to rely on her for everything?

However, she didnʼt say anything and summoned a flying palace!

It was an obsidian flying palace, appearing sleek and sturdy. Although it was only five stories tall, it was a thousand meters tall.

Davisʼs brows twitched.

This was extremely conspicuous, but he guessed it would do fine since it wasnʼt like there was martial law imposed in the entire realm.

Who was gonna stop them?

After he entered Fairy Qiyra Darkstarʼs palace, he finally gestured for her to release the others.

Other than Davis and Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, there appeared Evelynn, Epsila, Lereza, Illumina, Laphria Rinmei, Jaiyan, and the Frostcloud Sword Empress.

This was a force to be reckoned with.

However, there was also another person. It was none other than the Azure Tree Realm Master. However, she was no longer an Azure Tree but a Seraphic Azure Tree, a tree coveted for its Celestial Wood that allowed transcendents to enter the Primarch Stage.

However, she was extremely powerful for a Seraphic Azure Tree due to her consuming a diluted Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill.

While Davis gave a good look at the Azure Tree Realm Master, who decided to volunteer to help for some reason, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar started the Armored Flying Palace.

As for where they were heading…

What they needed was energy- a vast amount of energy. If they couldnʼt obtain it from the Realm Core, there was only one other entity in a realm that they could rely on in order to obtain a vast amount of heaven and earth energy. If the Realm Core was the yang of a yin-yang diagram, then the destination was where the yin was.

They were heading towards the Ethereal Lumina Tree of this Upper Realm.

An Ethereal Lumina Tree was unlike any other in existence, including a Void Dust Tree and many other tree lifeforms, its roots delving deep into the earth, connecting with the spiritual essence of the land like the dragon veins, and its branches extending high into the heavens, looking as though brushing against the stars themselves.

It was the overlooked entity that sustains the entire realm, and if it dies, it could mark the destruction of the realm.
