Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4998  Supreme Authority

After the Celestial Transcendent revealed himself, the people knelt and were allowed to rise quickly, with further instructions not to concern themselves with his presence and to continue the ceremony.

The Emporium Sovereign then hastily took the Celestial Transcendent, Zest Hyluan, and the Virtuous Dawn Realm Master to a special accommodation where he had been initially present, watching the procession and ceremony with much scrutiny.

Once the parties settled in their seats, the Emporium Sovereign directly knelt on the floor, cupping his hands.

”Supreme One, my True Peak Emporium and I are incredibly honored to be graced by your presence. I didnʼt expect your majesty to come. Otherwise, I would-”

”Donʼt bother.”

The Celestial Transcendent waved his hand casually and said in a friendly tone, ”I donʼt mind attending tribal festivities, much less this grand one, so thereʼs no need to even go further without my express intention. Never mind me. Your True Peak Emporium has truly become rich after ʼsiphoningʼ resources from the Divine Emperor of Death and securing more partnerships through Jiayi Crystalveil, huh? See, it has even caught the attention of your Realm Master, who has come to suppress you.”

”…”

”…”

Both the Emporium Sovereign and Virtuous Dawn Realm Master lowered their heads as though they were children caught fighting.

They didnʼt even bother refuting or arguing, silently lowering their heads as though accepting their wrongs.

The Emporium Sovereign fared even worse, his countenance increasingly turning pale. He smashed his head on the ground.

”Supreme One, if you so wish, our True Peak Emporium will immediately stop all forms of communication with the Divine Emperor of Death. We were wrong. We were greedy. Please forgive us!”

Seeing this scene, the Virtuous Dawn Realm Master inwardly sneered, thinking the True Peak Emporium was done.

On the other hand, Zest Hyluan shook his head.

In front of the Celestial Transcendent, all forms of schemes seemed to cascade and shatter like glass. His prestige was beyond all Realm Masters and peak experts of the human race, and those who knew not to get on his bad side were scarce yet knew how to survive.

It was through instantly accepting their wrongs and pleading guilty so that they could at least be spared from absolute death.

Zest Hyluan saw his friend remain silent.

Even earlier, the Celestial Transcendent didnʼt make any effort to save the Prosperous Gold Cityʼs City Lord, who was possessed by the Accursed Warlock, instantly slapping him to death with the might of chaos and karma. But from what he knew, his friend wouldʼve tried to save the City Lord first and then deal with the Accursed Warlockʼs soul.

Since it was unlike him, Zest Hyluan could tell that his friend was pissed beyond compare that someone dared to intentionally target his granddaughter.

He couldnʼt tell what would become of this so-called Emporium Sovereign.

The Celestial Transcendent didnʼt reply. Instead, he leaned back and raised his head to gaze at the projection of the ceremony, his gaze fixed on Jiayi Crystalveil.

After a few seconds, his voice echoed in an authoritative tone.

”That depends on the investigative outcome of the merchant known as Jiayi Crystalveil.”

”…”

The Emporium Sovereign trembled heavily, his face turning pale as a ghost.

Was his True Peak Emporium going to be destroyed overnight?

What rules? What laws?

If the Celestial Transcendent decided to end a power, they wouldnʼt be able to escape.

All the Divine Exalts were forced out of the galaxy. Even True Deities were unable to stop him. One single mandate, and the entire Divine Exalt Path was banned. Those who took him for a benevolent ruler and tried to test him and take advantage of him were extremely wrong.

The words ʼpurgeʼ or ʼcleansingʼ were deeply embedded in the minds of everyone who knew about history.

”Thatʼs right-”

While the Emporium Sovereign tried to recollect himself amidst the swelling trepidation in his heart, he heard the Celestial Transcendent speak.

”There should be a high-priority mission issued by my Celestial Transcendent Greater Realm for searching for this person known as Zhao Yan. Have you found any clues?”

”Uh-” The Emporium Sovereign hurriedly thought before shaking his head, ”Iʼm afraid we havenʼt, but Iʼll try my best to find this person if your majesty desires.”

”Hmm, the sooner, the better.”

The Celestial Transcendent nodded, his gaze turning forlorn while his eyes never parted from the projection.

On the other hand, the Emporium Sovereignʼs eyes perked up. He didnʼt know what the deal was with Zhao Yan or his relationship to the Celestial Transcendent or the Celestial Transcendent Greater Realm, but he knew succeeding in this mission might even grant a pardon for the shady business they had engaged in with the Divine Emperor of Death.

He swiftly thought of allocating most of the personnel to finding and tracking this person.

At the same time, since it was a high-priority mission, he recalled going through the information once before assigning a significant number of personnel to this mission.

”Zhao Yan…” He uttered with some doubt.

”If Iʼm not wrong, is this person from the old Zhao Family before the ban on the Divine Exalt Path? Didnʼt the Zhao, Ouyang, Wei, Lin and Chen Families and many other Divine Exalt Path practicing powers all evacuate to the Divine Phoenix Galaxy and the Verdant Time Galaxy en masse?”

”They moved everywhere, but yes, most have moved to these two galaxies, and the Zhao Family has settled in the Verdant Time Galaxy after a long and arduous journey, certainly full of hatred for me.”

”…”

The Emporium Sovereign didnʼt know why the term ʼhatredʼ would be particularly mentioned since every Divine Exalt Path power would be hating the Celestial Transcendent for chasing them out, but still, he didnʼt ask, only nodding in contemplation.

Since Zhao Yanʼs family was in some other galaxy, it became difficult to find using karmic methods, and on the mission, it was already mentioned that no karmic item was available to find him, making it strenuous for anyone to investigate, and left them not knowing where to start.

At the moment, since they knew he was back from the Elemental Dimensionʼs portals, they started investigating every publicly known portal and even some secretive portals.

All efforts had failed so far, but now that even the Celestial Transcendent had personally asked him, he was intent on fully accelerating the efforts.
