Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5031  Sense Of Crisis

Davis suddenly felt an impending sense of crisis.

It seems like the heavens or fate- whatever it was didnʼt intend to let him live for even a few months. With the heaven and earth energy thinning out, some preparations they had made also became redundant, for example, the defensive formations they placed outside the sanctuary to kill Exalt-level powerhouses will no longer become sustainable.

They could only use it when needed, or it would be out of energy before they knew it.

The same goes for the continent-wide formation they had put in place to lock the denizens of the continent from leaving and outsiders from entering. Cracks in the formation would eventually emerge before it could no longer sustain itself for a long period of time. In fact, outsiders already started arriving but it was mostly space pirates.

Nonetheless, this can still be remedied since they had a lot of Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Cores to use that would last them for years to come, but it seemed like things wouldnʼt stop getting worse.

If one Galaxy Wormhole could connect the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, then there was no telling how many would appear later on.

Right now, he was well aware that the universe was hostile towards him.

If he wasnʼt wrong, he felt like the heavens initiated a Desolate Era upon failing to end him, and the universe was trying to fix the problem through fate. It was similar to how oneʼs body reacts to deal with an issue.

Thinking of all this, Davis turned to look at Evelynn, ”Weʼll strike first as we set off in a few days with ample preparations. Mingzhi, inform your master. I need her help to move across realms.”

”What if she doesnʼt agree?” Mingzhi asked, ”And how do you plan on destroying the wormhole? Is that even possible?”

None of them had ever seen a wormhole. They had only read about it.

”Make her agree no matter what. Fairy Qiyra Darkstar is the fastest transporter we have. Nyoran can take us through the Nether Dimension, but since there were forces that were there to intercept us, it isnʼt safe to use such a method without being sufficiently powerful.”

Zenova pondered for a moment before she asked, ”Do you think while they are here to invade and plunder, theyʼll quickly change their tune when the Celestial Transcendent and other major figures arrive and try to work together to find and seal you?”

Davis nodded, ”But it doesnʼt matter if theyʼre here to conquer an Upper Realm as a base or to join with the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy to hunt me down. Itʼs time to use the poison replica against the wormhole. Weʼll use lightning-fast strikes to poison the wormhole and leave. Weʼll continue to do this for any new wormholes that might pop up later on.”

Evelynn held her breath before she nodded.

She knew this day would come, even feeling it was a little disappointing that she hadnʼt gotten to use it yet.

Zenovaʼs gaze flickered, ”So in essence, we intercept the other galaxies from invading and prevent them conquering. Mhm, this is a good, righteous deed that the Shadow Wraith Legion doesnʼt have to take the lead in. This will earn our Davis Family some standing within the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy.”

”…” Davis and the others were speechless.

Their Zenova could still think about increasing its reputation like that at this time. It wasnʼt like she understood the weight of the issue, but they knew she could, and still, she didnʼt seem to deem it a crisis.

”Iʼll have to leave now.” Davis stood up, ”I need to contact two individuals and see if they could help me.”

”Help for what?” Evelynn asked.

”Youʼll know later.”

Davis said mysteriously before disappearing.

His speed was so fast that they missed him with a blink of their eyes, or he managed to conceal himself so perfectly while still being before them. Seeing Illumina look towards the distance through the entrance, they knew it was the former.

Evelynn suddenly spoke, ”Zenova, what makes you think you can be the Legion Master of the Shadow Wraith Legion? If itʼs power, Illumina wouldnʼt lose to you, and if itʼs intelligence, I donʼt doubt you, but when it comes to character and trustability, I think Lady Thunderwraith is a more suitable candidate since she wouldnʼt easily abandon her comrades.”

Zenova cast a fleeting glance at her before returning her gaze, ”This Shadow Wraith Legion of mine is a bit different. We wonʼt sacrifice ourselves since it was a requirement I know our Emperor would want, but weʼll use every ruthless move in our books to achieve our goals in the shortest possible time.”

”Iʼm certainly not as intelligent as you, but you canʼt possibly beat me in battle. How can you command me?”

Illumina asked with a cold gaze.

Zenova smiled a bit. She knew she hadnʼt proved herself yet on why she could lead such a legion.

Hence, their doubts were understandable.

She answered calmly, ”A commander is not a person who is the strongest or the best at fighting. Although these factors are necessary, it isnʼt as important as a commanderʼs ability to leverage the strength of the subordinates to achieve the the maximum results. Do you think thereʼs someone else better than me who can do that?”

”…”

Immediately, everyone appeared convinced as they looked at each other.

They knew if there was a woman who was better at manipulation in the Davis Family, who else could it be other than the newcomer, Zenova?

Illumina also nodded, ”Fine, Iʼll be your subordinate this once, but if you donʼt show results, Iʼll be applying to take your position.”

”Feel free to do so~”

Zenova answered confidently, her tone even amused.

Davis left the sanctuary and arrived at the guest palace, where they had made accommodations for the Saintess Lunariaʼs disciples.

He went in and met Karyot, but came out quickly after finding that the two people he wanted to search for werenʼt there.

Apparently, they had gone out sightseeing.

He tracked them down to a mountain hill in a few hours, where he had found them nearly half-naked before he announced himself.

There was panic in a tent before two people came out.

It was none other than Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei.

They looked at Davis as though they wanted to kill him out of embarrassment.

But underneath the moonlit night, Davis said in a solemn voice, ”We have an emergency.”

His tone and expression made them pause before the gathered around the campfire.

It didnʼt seem like an immediate emergency as Davis remained silent for a while before he spoke.

”Say, are you two interested in reversing the Desolate Era?”

Thank you Solomon and Jae for Dragon and Magic Castle gifts.
