Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5011  Stacks Of Reports

A black-robed woman sat alone in a vast hall, her figure located at the center behind a desk, while she was surrounded by endless stacks of reports that looked like they were causing her mental damage.

This woman was none other than Mingzhi.

The hall itself was quiet except for a single sound.

*Thud~*

The sharp, measured impact of a seal striking parchment echoed faintly, reverberating through the stillness.

A report slid into place beneath her slender fingers. Her gaze moved across it with a calm and discerning gaze. In a few breaths, she passed judgment and smashed the seal on it.

[Approved]

Without pause, she waved her hand, causing the parchment to fly and land itself on a specific stack. Then another unchecked parchment landed on the desk from the movement of her other hand, her movement fluid yet unhurried.

Her gaze loomed over the report, her eyes narrowing.

It was a petition from a City Lord requesting aid after they suffered from a magical beast tide.

Mingzhiʼs brows furrowed as this was the first case of a magical beast tide in their sanctuary. She was interested in knowing the specifics, but was too tired to pay attention to such a minor matter since this was expected.

After all, they had released a lot of wild magical beasts into the sanctuary.

It was important for an ecosystem to sustain itself. They couldnʼt keep providing.

She approved the request from her side, but still rounded it and marked it to be sent to the Administration Department.

The Administration Department was helmed by Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirley, but Mingzhi knew only Isabella or Shirley would be willing to take care of these matters. She expected Isabella to be there at this time.

As she placed the request form onto a stack, she noticed it was full and called for someone.

A white-robed, black-haired female member of the Reaper Soul Legion respectfully strode into the vast hall before asking familiarly.

”Are these all?”

”Yes, Hestia, deliver these stacks to the Administration Department. Although the others havenʼt been filled yet, bring them to the other departments. This oneʼs going to the Treasure Department. And this one to the External Affairs Department. Make sure to give it to Lea Weiss since sheʼs the only one active there at the moment. And-”

”I know, I know, Mistress Mingzhi.” Hestia giggled before she patted her bosom, ”Leave it to me.”

She then turned to look at the huge stack that seemed to be lined from one corner to the other, shuddering ever so lightly.

”The Legion Master still hasnʼt taken a look at them?”

Mingzhi also followed her gaze and smiled wryly at the countless documents.

They were reviewed and approved or disapproved by her, but they still needed Davisʼs final acknowledgment. They werenʼt important enough to waste his time, but as the head of the family, he did need to be aware of the content of these reports.

”Yes, he still hasnʼt taken a look at them. Heʼs extremely busy.”

Mingzhi casually replied and then took a good look at Hestia, ”Do you still want to be with your Legion Master?”

Hestiaʼs expression turned quite sullen, ”Legion Master is too bright. Every woman in the Reaper Soul Legion more or less idolizes him and wouldnʼt resist if he were to make a move on us, but he rarely ever pays attention. The male Soul Warriors have it so easy. Theyʼre so popular in other families and even in other cities. For example, Captain Praezen has now secretly accepted two women in the cities to be his future wives. Meanwhile, we female soul warriors suffer from having been nurtured by the strongest yet sharing no warmth like you- of course, please donʼt misunderstand...! Iʼm not badmouthing Legion Master or-”

”Hehe~” Mingzhi giggled, ”I know. Many women are envious of us. Thatʼs why I told you to forget about him and pursue someone else if you want to make a family of your own and perhaps stand a chance to control your husband. See?”

She pointed at the train-like stacks of reports and then at herself, ”He doesnʼt even have time for us, let alone for new women. Iʼm telling you- there are a lot of women waiting to be seen by him.”

”Mhm, I understand…” Hestia smilingly nodded.

She didnʼt doubt that from what she observed.

Even Vice Legion Commander Threelotus was smitten, but she never made a move. She didnʼt know why, but for most, it was because the fear of rejection was high. They knew their Legion Master wasnʼt a depraved person for him to target every woman who came across him, as the rumors say. Instead, he was always respectful.

Mingzhi looked at her nod but sensed that she wasnʼt convinced through Heart Intent. She inwardly sighed, knowing this was a severe problem. If it wasnʼt addressed, the psychological health of the female members of the Reaper Soul Legion would be affected.

After all, if they werenʼt cultivating, they would be patrolling and then keep coming across couples and children.

Theyʼre also humans. How could they not have feelings? Besides, the Reaper Soul Legion also enjoyed prosperity, and the times they needed to fight were high nowadays, but the times they encountered life-threatening danger were very low, giving them a sense of security that one required to consider starting a family.

Mingzhi pondered for a moment before she suggested.

”It seems like you all need a closure. How about I sign a harem decree from the Harem Council stating that no female members of the Reaper Soul Legion can get together with the Legion Master, with the exception of those who challenge and defeat me in a single battle with the hint of death looming over them?”

”…!” Hestiaʼs eyes brightened as it also turned horrified.

Challenging Mistress Mingzhi? Someone must be really tired of their life to even initiate such a challenge! Everyone knew how insane she could get!

”You could all go discuss it with your fellow female members in order to not to harbor any second thoughts. This would also save your marriage in the future.”

Mingzhi advised softly, causing Hestia to go back empty-handed until she was reminded to take away the stacks of reports to the relevant departments.
