Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5005  Problems Come With Development

Zanqua placed the giant broadsword on her shoulder, its immense weight practically nothing when she held it, although her arm no longer appeared to have bulging muscles, allowing her arms to appear symmetrical instead of having one arm buffed.

Clearly, she had taken good care of her body after receiving help from her triplet sisters.

However, she still appeared to have one eye covered.

”My apologies.” She responded with a grin, ”But I am on a mission to hunt bandits from the Golden Radiance Empire, and I also took on a mission from the Davis Family Mission Hall to ensure security outside the sanctuary. I presume in this case, it would be first-come, first serve- I mean, I havenʼt overstepped my bounds, have I?”

*Whoosh~!* *Whoosh~!* *Whoosh~!*

At this moment, more Real Soul Legion members appeared one after another.

Once they were here, they appeared a bit disappointed since they seemed to be late.

It was rare that they would get an opportunity to defend the sanctuary since no one was brave enough to come to this place other than a few ignorant miscreants and dumb magical beasts. Now that they finally had some meat, it was taken away by a mission runner.

Yotan looked at the bloody scene ahead and frowned a bit.

”Violence is only a means to maintain order. It can never be order itself. Just killing the bandit leader shouldʼve been enough.”

”…”

Zanqua looked taken aback before her eye narrowed, ”Are you really trying to teach me about dealing with bandits?”

Her aura erupted with a jade light, her undulations appearing to reverberate at Level Six Empyrean Stage.

However, the undulations were calm without any rage, vastly different than that of her previously berserk nature.

”You may not know, but most successful bandit groups are a loyal bunch. If you kill their boss, they would do anything in their power to get revenge even if they have to ingratiate themselves with someone else or even sell their bodies. Thatʼs why it is necessary to eliminate everyone, and I mean- everyone.”

Zanqua raised her giant broadsword and threw it behind her.

*Bang!~*

It went straight towards an invisible target, and blood spurted from above the tree branch before the giant broadsword embedded itself into a mountain. A severed upper body fell straight down from the tree branch, followed by the lower body. The giant broadsword that was stuck trembled before unhooking itself and rushing back to Zanquaʼs hand.

Zanqua caught the giant broadsword before waving the blood away and keeping it over her back.

”Moreover, this is the Thunderdome Raiding Bandits. Theyʼre the strongest bandit group in the Golden Radiance Continent, and you have just taken out their vice leader, who is at Level Eight Empyrean Stage. You should expect more retaliation soon from their leader, but no need to worry since Iʼm going to hunt them down myself.”

She turned around and left.

”…”

Yotan watched her leave with a complicated gaze.

She wasnʼt even given the chance to respond. However, there was some truth to Zanquaʼs words, so she didnʼt take any offense and reevaluated her opinion on dealing with bandits.

It was indeed becoming quite a problem with more and more people heading towards their sanctuary in an attempt to find their holy land or Empyrean Grade resources. The Davis Family had collectively increased the heaven and earth energy of one part of the continent, but in turn, it also caused problems as people started to seek out the source of this change and hoped to get rich or ride the wave to increase their cultivation further.

She had been dealing with it in a way that could be considered merciful but she guessed the more she was humane, the more people would come after hearing the information from those who had already set foot in the border but failed to head inside.

It seems like she must line up the heads of these bandits.

”So rude~”

At this moment, Threelotus descended as she watched Zanqua depart.

”She must be asking for a beating talking to the Legion Masterʼs wife like that.”

Yotan lightly smiled upon hearing that. She responded in a faint tone, ”She was once a bandit, so her personality is still wild and untamed, but she has toned down a lot. Furthermore, she has her Panqa and Lanqua backing her. They may not seem like it, but they dote on her a lot.”

She remembered the two of them telling them to take care of Zanqua since she had saved them when they were little. They told her that they only owed her a debt of gratitude, but she knew they heavily doted on Zanqua, and their methods were also quite brutal since they were stronger than Zanqua and disciplined her all the time.

Threelotus nodded slightly. This wasnʼt exactly a secret, so many were aware of Zanquaʼs connections and the reason for her quick growth.

Her expression was curious as she sank deep in thought when suddenly, she gasped.

”Ha, could it be that theyʼre grooming her to become Legion Masterʼs woman in the future?”

”Could be. Who doesnʼt like Legion Master?” Yotan said with some pride.

”No way. Thereʼs no way Zanqua could become Legion Masterʼs woman faster than me. I wonʼt allow it!~”

”…”

Yotan turned speechless while the other soul warriors laughed silently as they looked away.

It was no secret that the two goddesses of the Reaper Soul Legion were infatuated with the Legion Master, especially Threelotus, who had openly stated her opinions and even made things up. Unfortunately, she appeared to be invisible to the Legion Master, but to their surprise, Threelotus didnʼt seem unhappy with it as she appeared to love the one-sided chase.

It was as though she wasnʼt looking for a partner but worshiping an idol or fantasizing about an imperial celebrity.

Yotan also realized this somewhat, so she stopped worrying for Threelotus.

With a wave of her hand, Yotan turned around and commanded one of the three divisions to take care of the mess, but she did so with specific instructions.

The soul warriors moved without complaint, having already been used to following orders to the last letter.

They used light energy to cleave wood and made wooden stakes out of it before stabbing them onto hilltops, before finally placing the intact heads of the bandits as decoration.

Over a hundred heads seemed to surround the north-west to north-east directions, making it quite the spectacle and an instant warning to those who were approaching.

But the next day, all heads had disappeared, eaten by wild magical beasts, making Yotan speechless.

Nonetheless, the stakes were a grim reminder.

Vagrants and rogue cultivators saw the signs and quickly turned around as they noticed the blood on these stakes was from people who were all Empyrean, an extreme minority even reaching the peak of the Mid Empyrean Stage.

The outskirts of the sanctuary later came to be known as the Deep Dread Maze Forest since the formations ahead were also maze formations.

Regardless, the Reaper Soul Legion continued on with their duties, the main ones being two divisions always patrolling the Davis Family Estate and other estates, and with the Legion Commander or Vice Legion Commander posted at the entrance of the sanctuary to guard from external threats.

However, they were more or less all soul bodies since the Reaper Soul Legion spent the majority of the time in seclusion.

The Reaper Soul Legion did not focus on prowess, but that didnʼt mean they were any less than ordinary supreme geniuses. Furthermore, as they were all High Stage Empyreans, their combined prowess through battle formations could allow them to battle Exalts.

They were extremely powerful. After all, their resources were directly supplied from the Treasury without any need to earn contribution points since they were the private forces of the Divine Emperor of Death himself. Although they didnʼt get the top-tier resources, it was still good for any supreme genius to gain access to them.

Only- if they could obtain an Exalt Grade Battle Formation or Grand War Formation, their combined capability would shoot up.

==========

The sound of heavy breathing echoed as a pair of naked people, a man and a woman laid on the bed, their figures drenched in pink sweat. The womanʼs pink hair appeared drenched with even white strands staining her hair and her face, a heated expression still remaining in her eyes.

They both took deep breaths but appeared unwilling to let each other go, the woman firmly remaining in the manʼs arm like a doll.

The room wafted with the scent of their carnal journey, leaving them further intoxicated.

”Haha~”

When they turned to look at each other, they couldnʼt help but laugh.

These two were none other than Davis and Aila.

They had no idea how many days they had spent here since they were engrossed with each other, but two weeks had passed.

It was the longest time Davis had spent dual-cultivating in half a decade.
