Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5001  Third Step Experts

After Felicia Archus calmed down, her family had her sit on the bed and rest more, even though she was already fully healed, even her soul had slightly recovered from the mental anguish that had made her decide to commit herself to an eternal sleep until Zhao Yan returns.

Her mother kept patting her head within her bosom, her expression tender before doing her hair, even humming their family hymn a bit.

Felicia Archus felt intensely nostalgic, nearly crying again, but she was safe and secure within her motherʼs embrace, able to relax considerably. It was a wide contrast to her bedchamber, which was big, comparable to an Ancestral Hall, making her feel vulnerable but no more.

She could only wonder how her family had suffered while tending to her all this time. Even without Heart Intent, she could sense this hall was filled with negative emotions, but with her up and everyoneʼs mood uplifted, it was no longer there.

Hence, although she felt great to be back, she was a bit mortified facing her family.

She raised her head, looking around and noticing that every one of her brothers and sisters had a different ratio of green-white hair or black-green hair, while the grandsons and granddaughters possessed different shades of hair color, for example, Anastasia was fully crimson-haired, the same as her father, who wasnʼt present here at this moment. Regardless, their features, their temperaments, and even their clothing style were all the same as she had last seen them, making her quite relaxed.

She had missed much, but seeing things remain the same, her mood had considerably improved from before, even though she still held complicated emotions.

”Is that all…?” However, she still asked with a faint curious glint in her eyes.

”What is all?” The Venerable Lifeweaver Fox braided Feliciaʼs hair with care and attention.

”I mean- are there no members of the fourth generation?” Felicia Archus giggled a bit.

Valeria Archus, the first daughter, scoffed, ”Heh, little sister, weʼre all World Hegemons or Hierarchs. If mom werenʼt a Venerable Lifeweaver Fox having extreme control over life, even we wouldnʼt be born, and our bloodline is chaos-life attributed in nature, making it difficult to give birth after each birth and each generation. You should be aware that it is extremely difficult for the third generation to have children, especially when weʼre all in the Third Step. Even mother canʼt change this fact; significant universal laws of balance are imposed on us. We can only leave it to chance or risk offending the heavens and nature.”

”True.” Nearly everyone in the room agreed, their expressions complicated.

It took more effort, but seeing no result was disheartening.

At this moment, Velmira Archus, the third daughter, opened her mouth.

”Besides, Anastasiaʼs generation is even more arrogant than ours, elder sister. Their standards for a partner are extremely high.”

”…” Anastasia Archusʼs lips curled with disdain.

Why was it her problem that no one could meet her standards? It wasnʼt like she was asking for more than her own potential, yet still, rarely could anyone meet it, and those who met it already had plenty of wives, so she wasnʼt interested.

Besides, marriage or romance wasnʼt even a concern at her current stage and age.

”Only the second grandson, Alaric, and the third granddaughter, Sylvia, are married. The rest are still single and immensely popular.” Velmira Archus added with a faint tone of displeasure at the end and even glared at them.

The other grandchild also showed similar expressions of disinterest and pride.

There werenʼt many people who met their standards, and even if they did, their personalities and characters rarely matched, making it difficult for them to agree to a union. For example, there wasnʼt a single rat in their family; everyone is extremely united, including the spouses who came from other powers.

They had long concluded that they could not be defeated by external influences, but internal? That was something they always guarded against, so they were extremely careful when it came to choosing partners.

”Mhm.” Felicia Archus smiled softly, ”I just hoped that we would have more members by the time I awakened because the more the merrier. Besides, father really likes children.”

Zerathion Archus, the second son, laughed at this moment, ”Little sister, arenʼt you confident that you would awaken? Good! But donʼt worry, you have a significant chance of birthing a member of the third generation. As soon as we find Zhao Yan, you can give us a cute nephew or sweet niece, hehehe~”

”…” Felicia Archus blushed, her restrained smile quickly turning a bit excited.

”Is Zhao Yan back?”

It has been nearly two weeks since she woke up, but she was caught in nightmares and in a state of extreme fever. Many of her siblings tried to heal her, and even her own body started self-healing before finally her invincible mother came back from outside to help her heal completely from the longstanding burden of karma on her body and the mental anguish of the soul, but there was still no information on Zhao Yan.

Everyoneʼs expression slightly changed, and even her mother paused braiding for a moment.

Valeria Archus teased at this moment, ”Ayo, thatʼs the third time youʼre asking after youʼve woken up. Youʼve already waited for so long, but you canʼt wait for a few more months? Weʼre still searching for him, so be a good little sister and wait.”

”Okay~”

Felicia Archus clutched the pendant hanging below her neck. She could no longer feel his soul or his aura within the necklace, but she felt reassured having this with her.

However, she failed to see the uncomfortable gaze everyone had when Zhao Yan was mentioned.

By this time, they thoroughly hated him, wanting to break his legs and torture him for making their Felicia go through all of this, but now that Felicia had awakened and was still faithfully waiting for Zhao Yan, they had nowhere to vent their anger.

If they touched Zhao Yan, their Felicia would become miserable again. They didnʼt want to see such an expression from her ever again, especially when she was finally up and looked healthy and mentally stable.

They still remembered how she wallowed in despair, a sight that made their hearts sink in sorrow as though they themselves were affected. Her beautiful black-green hair, now fully white, was still a grim reminder that she had her heart set on Zhao Yan, lovesick and faithful.

They didnʼt know whether to blame their own familyʼs teachings or not in this circumstance, since monogamy was their stance on marriage, or in life, for that matter. One life, one life companion. This unspoken rule had been significantly loosened after Feliciaʼs incident, but they still followed it because that was their mindset from a young age, instilled in them with care and affection- not like other families who forced their descendants to enter political marriage for congregation and solidification of power.

Their Archus Family didnʼt need to worry about such things because not only was their grandfather the supreme ruler, but he was also the strongest in the human race!

Nonetheless, it was a fact that they tried to marry Felicia off to someone else in order to make her forget about Zhao Yan, the only mistake they ever made in forcing her hand. Although Felicia agreed to the marriage, it was nothing but a ruse to get off their surveillance and do something drastic like committing herself to eternal sleep until Zhao Yanʼs return or death.

Their hearts were still filled with guilt, so this time around, they intended to fulfill her wishes no matter what.

A family full of True Deity-level experts… if they couldnʼt even do this, then they should just hang their heads in shame. Such thoughts swirled in them when the sound of footsteps echoed at the entrance.

”Father!”

”Grandpa!”

It was none other than the Celestial Transcendent.
