Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5003  True Depths?

Anastasia Archus panicked a bit, but she was already prepared to deal with this matter. She immediately harrumphed cutely, ”My siblings, uncles, and aunts have incredible achievements to their names. I canʼt lag behind. Let the Divine Emperor of Death fall to my curtain.”

”Anastasia, how many times have I told you-”

”Mmph~ Itʼs always the ones who have become incredible- who very conveniently say others not to be bothered about achievements. Although I donʼt care about achievements, I care about becoming a full-fledged member of the Archus Family. Itʼs better than being a wastrel, right? I promise I wonʼt get anywhere near the Divine Emperor of Death, as I know the danger and would easily get killed or kidnapped, but at least let me track him.”

She poutingly turned around and grasped her grandfatherʼs sleeves, acting like a spoiled lass.

The Celestial Transcendent looked troubled as he was indeed vulnerable to this kind of tactic. His gaze softened regardless of whether he doubted his granddaughter was manipulating him with Heart Intent or not. However, this time around, his worries didnʼt fade.

”What do you mean you wonʼt go near him when he practically revived using a strand of your blood? Chances are you are already karmically marked.”

”…?” Anastasia Archus looked confused before her face increasingly turned pale as realization dawned on her.

”You mean- Gʼharen Bloodrain is…”

”The Divine Emperor of Death possessed Gʼharen Bloodrain and, coincidentally, came across you. Karma has already formed, and with the strange techniques he is capable of, in addition to having a broken replica of the Essence Thread of Karma, I need to thoroughly check and cleanse you. Come with me.”

”Father-!” Velmira Archus, Anastasiaʼs mother, turned pale and alarmed.

Anastasia Archus also trembled.

That assassin, that battle- now she understood, millions of bloody corpses screaming in her head. Her legs nearly turned limp from realizing that was her first encounter with the Divine Emperor of Death, who had somehow escaped the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm.

”Nothing to worry. The rascal claimed to the female merchant, who is in a business relationship with him, that he hadnʼt done anything to Anastasia, and his words are somewhat trustworthy from what Iʼve seen so far. Nonetheless, we will still check Anastasia thoroughly and then go to Uncle Hongʼs place.”

”If itʼs Divine Oracle Hong who will confirm Anastasiaʼs health, then Iʼm not reassured.” Velmira Archus visibly relaxed, and the others did too.

No evil karmic technique gets past a Daedalian Karmic Turtle, a true Paragon Magical Beast!

But soon, rage erupted on their expressions.

”Divine Emperor of Death...”

”Courting death!” Darian Archusʼs golden eyes were wreathed in flames.

How dare someone harm his little sister!?

If it werenʼt for Felicia and Anastasia currently being here, their undulations wouldʼve exploded, nearly causing the surrounding islands to quiver and nearly collapse.

Izora Archusʼs gaze was also unusually cold. She slowly stood up, but before she could stand, two hands grabbed her shoulders and pushed her down.

”Donʼt. His methods to attack and survive appear to be endless. I will personally deal with him when my true body returns.”

”Father, are you telling mother even she wouldnʼt be able to deal with them using her avatar for the Second Layer?”

”Indeed. He survived my Covenant through brute force as I sensed no technique.”

”That good?ʼ

”I suspect he has comprehended Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, leading him to possess-”

The Celestial Transcendent told them his investigation efforts and the danger level displayed by the Divine Emperor of Death, leaving them wide-eyed and shocked.

The more they heard about the Divine Emperor of Death, the less he seemed human.

How could he be so young yet mindbogglingly powerful while practicing three different cultivation paths at the same time?

Obliteration, Chaos-Destruction, and Reincarnation!?

Which Divergent had one of these, much less all these Laws!?

Then his tribulation brought about the desolate era, leading him to be called the first Desolate Divergent!?

What kind of joke was this!?

Wasnʼt this an unprecedented threat their universe was facing?

They then inevitably looked at Anastasia Archus, making her lower her head from the sheer pressure and guilt of making them worry.

She didnʼt think she was facing such a monster, even though she had already placed him on a pedestal.

”You, unfilial daughter! Never go near him ever again!” Velmira Archus strode to her, about to discipline her daughter.

However, the Celestial Transcendent stopped her, ”Itʼs nearly impossible. Not only has karma formed, and fate has been set in motion, but we personally would need her to meet him again.”

”Why!?” Velmira Archus appeared to be at a loss, her expression incredibly worried.

Their first priority should be to get Anastasia Archus treated and then shield her, but why would they need to send her to the Divine Emperor of Death again?

The Celestial Transcendent went silent before casting a glance at Felicia Archus, who was silent.

Felicia Archus wondered if there was some karmic burden involved, but they were their fatherʼs offspring who had received the Celestial Seedʼs blessings. They were shielded from most karmic burdened information, so it shouldnʼt be that dangerous to hear whatever her father had to say.

But suddenly, her heart sank.

The Divine Emperor of Death also seemed to have just returned from the Elemental Dimension, his powers significantly grown as he entered the Empyrean Stage.

Her expression increasingly turned worse as her lips quivered.

”Does… does he have Zhao Yan…?”

The Celestial Transcendent took a heavy breath.

”Yes, the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs last known demand is that he would peacefully exchange Zhao Yan with Anastasia for unknown conditions under the transaction conducted by Jiayi Crystalveil, the newly crowned Vice Emporium Sovereign of the True Peak Emporium, titled Karmic Merchant of Fortune.”

”…”

Everyone, including Anastasia Archus, appeared to be at a loss, while Felicia Archus felt her body turn cold.

However, she clenched her fists, her lips curling forcefully as tears flowed down her face, ”Heʼs alive… Zhao Yanʼs alive…”

Zhao Yanʼs life and death.

This question had been hanging over her head like a sword about to fall.

After all, it was either that Zhao Yan returned or Zhao Yan finally died in the Elemental Dimension. But now, his life and death status were clear! He was alive! Imprisoned, but alive!

Mixed feelings of happiness and sorrow emanated from her, causing Anastasia Archus to tremble as she realized that this responsibility was on her.

She didnʼt shrink, but felt like she had to protect her second auntʼs husband no matter what.

The Celestial Transcendentʼs heart shook before he grasped his second daughterʼs frail hands, ”Donʼt you ever worry. I promise you I will bring back Zhao Yan and Anastasia in one piece, no matter the cost. You just wear a bridal dress and wait for him, alright?”

”Mhm~”

Felicia Archus stifled her tears and nodded cheerfully, ”I believe father.”
