Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5022  Retrieving The Black-White Stone?

In a guest palace floating within the clouds.

It was located a few tens of kilometers away from the Davis Family Estate. It was surrounded by clouds that were slightly peculiar and dark, even resembling a serpent.

Davis appeared outside the palace, calling out.

”Fairy Rokushi Mirai, timeʼs up.”

His voice echoed calmly.

He waited for her to show up for a few minutes and then frowned, wondering if she had left the sanctuary for some mission.

If she had left, then what are the chances she just escaped, considering the veil also came down?

He wanted to use his main body to search, but at this moment, the main body was busy creating the Verdant Vitalis Avatar.

ʼShould I charge into her palace?ʼ

Davis wondered before he shook his head lightly. Since she was an ally of the Davis Family, it wouldnʼt be good for him to be so overbearing. Breaking into someone elseʼs home was rude, and breaking into a womanʼs home would earn him a bad name on top of his status as a womanizer.

Sure, he was willing to break into Rokushi Miraiʼs Palace since the black-white stone was more important, but he didnʼt feel the need to do so since he was connected to the black-white stone. Since the main body hadnʼt detected it leaving the sanctuary or the continent, he didnʼt think it was necessary to be overbearing.

It was his fault for failing to retrieve the black-white stone after a week, so he had no intention of blaming Rokushi Mirai even if she took it out and was roaming the continent.

But suddenly, the palace gates opened, and Rokushi Mirai walked out.

Davis shot a languid smile.

”You enjoyed the four weeks. Had enough?”

”Mhm. I was digesting my gains and had trouble shaking the trance off. Thank you.” Rokushi Mirai said, her expression calm and collected.

However, her voice held sincerity.

He couldʼve given this to Myria, who also controlled life and death, but he gave it to her. This favor- she wouldnʼt forget it.

”Itʼs not a problem,” Davis said with a smiling expression.

He felt he was extremely shameless since he had stolen the black-white stone from Rokushi Mirai in the first place. However, through many transactions such as protecting her from Heavenly Blight Hall and aiding her in some issues, he felt like he had bought it from her.

”I also meant thank you for trusting me and not breaking into my home.”

”Haha. How could I be so willful? You can rest assured that your freedom and privacy are protected to a degree in this sanctuary.”

Davis boasted before reaching out his hand.

”…?” Rokushi Mirai looked confused before she said, ”If itʼs the black-white stone, Iʼve already given it to Fairy Myria earlier this day.”

”Oh.” Davis raised his head perfunctorily, ”Alright then, it seems like Iʼve come here and wasted your time. Should you require compensation, let me know.”

Rokushi Miraiʼs expression changed as she looked troubled, ”How can this be troubling or require compensation? As the leader, you can call your allies anytime, whether they are sleeping or secluded.”

”I know, but disturbing a seclusion session while comprehending Laws is more tactless and more annoying than a seclusion session while cultivating ordinarily. Iʼm afraid I mightʼve disturbed you from grasping certain essences of Death Laws, disallowing your Law Intent to increase and perhaps, mightʼve even affected the quality of the Laws you have comprehended.”

”No, Iʼve gained a lot this time.” Rokushi Mirai immediately denied, ”My comprehension of Death Laws surged from Level Four Abstruse Intent to Level Eight Abstruse Intent, which is extremely beneficial for me and can be considered quite good for someone who had just entered the Empyrean Stage, since Level Eight Abstruse Intent is something even supreme geniuses would find difficult to comprehend in the Empyrean Stage.”

”Indeed.” Davis nodded.

Compared to those who were rich with resources and not just crystals, those supreme geniuses were just taking baby steps.

”I suppose you have reached Level Nine Abstruse Intent in Death Laws.”

Davis flicked his sleeves coolly, ”No, I have reached Level One Quiddity.”

Rokushi Mirai couldnʼt help but smile coldly, but she was inwardly shocked, yet still was able to accept it.

Which cultivator was able to comprehend a Law Intent thatʼs meant for the Exalt Stage when they just enter the Empyrean Stage? She felt it was insane, but since it was the Divine Emperor of Death, she was able to accept it rather easily.

She wasnʼt even aware that the black-white stone had fused with him, allowing him to commandeer it with maximum control and even trace its location, perhaps even use long-range attacks without it having to be in his grasp.

Davis hadnʼt tested it, but it was still a replica of the Tablet of Life and Death.

He guessed it had its abilities, which were still unearthed and since it seemed to have practically no users other than Rokushi Mirai, Fallen Heaven had also been unable to unravel them. In the beginning, when he stole it from Rokushi Mirai, it was just a broken stone with the ability to emit death energy, but it slowly changed after it got with him, so it was still a mysterious stone with unknown or no abilities.

But how can it have no abilities? He felt that was strange for a replica.

On the other hand, Rokushi Mirai wasnʼt discouraged.

It wasnʼt like comprehending Law Intents was a case of linear progression.

She was well aware that an immortal cultivator- an Empyrean who has comprehended Level Nine Abstruse Intent for Space Laws might not necessarily be able to create a wormhole capable of realm travel, create a dimensional vortex leading to a dimension, or even create a legendary black hole thatʼs said to be able to devour everything in its vicinity.

However, a mere mortal cultivator might be capable of one of these feats with a comprehension level of Level One Intent.

Why? It would be because they understood the workings behind such a technique and not because they comprehended a Law Intent.

Comprehending Law Intents had to do with being able to control the type of energy from the heaven and earth energy and oneself, breaking the limits on energy usage, and conserving energy efficiently.

However, that mortal cultivator who knew how to create a black hole would never be able to use it due to many factors such as lack of energy, lack of control and many other factors, not to mention the the laws of the universe that repairs and heals spatial cracks and fissures actively works against unstable elements that disturb the stability of the spatial layers, and finally the suppression from the Void Dimension.

Many factors impede these low-stage cultivators from using such a big move, but it doesnʼt necessarily mean that they were unable to comprehend it, and even if they managed to comprehend black hole by chance or effort, it doesnʼt mean their law intent would suddenly spike to Level Nine Abstruse Intent.

Their Law Intent would surely increase by a few intents, but it wouldnʼt be by much since they were ultimately bound by the density of the energy they can control, whether it is heaven and earth energy or energy from themselves.

A Low Stage Empyrean who still hasnʼt comprehended Level Seven Abstruse Intent is still somewhat at risk of being harmed by their own energy, and that same person is at heavy risk of being harmed by their own energy when their Law Comprehension level hasnʼt even reached the Immortal Emperor Stage, meaning that if this Empyrean hasnʼt even comprehended Level Four Abstruse Intent in Spatial Laws, their own spatial energy would wreck their body when they use their energy.

Their control over spatial heaven and earth energy that supports Empyreans would also be abysmal, and even their circulation attempts to gather and refine neutral heaven and earth energy to their spatial energy in order to store and use it will prove to be difficult.

It was similar to having the capability but not having the ability.

Starting from Elementary Intent to higher intents means traversing from a drop, a puddle, and a lake to reaching deep abysses in the ocean. A drop canʼt be even used to create a splash, but being in the deep abyss means being able to control the vast current and create a massive tsunami or whirlpool with just a wave of their hands.

In the sea of Spatial Laws, their understanding of phenomena such as black holes doesnʼt necessarily relegate them to be an all-knowing law powerhouse since understanding black holes doesnʼt mean they would know how to move through dimensions or even step from one layer of space to the other, which was basic for anyone who was capable of tearing open space forcefully.

”If there isnʼt anything else, see you later then.”

Seeing Rokushi Mirai go silent, Davis felt that he should leave.

”Wait…”

However, Rokushi Mirai raised her hand, stopping him.

Davis turned to look at her, his brows raising in question.
