Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5004  Four Weeks

Davis Family Estate.

In the place where Tiaʼs house was still located within the main mansion, two women were working on a spindle, their expression sometimes solemn and others times helpless. They appeared to be researching the broken treasure known as the Scarlet Destiny Spindle, trying to repair it.

After looking into it many times, Tia sighed lightly, ”I think we still need a strand of Eternal Silk from the Heavenbound Eternal Silkworm or soul essence from the Eternal Dominion Silkworm Physique user. Clearly, Ophiryaʼs Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent blood essence and the other materials arenʼt enough to repair it.”

Myriaʼs fingers slowed against the spindle, the faint whirring gradually coming to a halt as she lifted her gaze toward the fractured Scarlet Destiny Spindle laid between them. Cracks like dried veins ran along its surface, faint scarlet light flickering within as though it still struggled to remember its former glory.

”Eternal Silk…”

Her voice was quiet and contemplative, yet there was a trace of reluctance hidden beneath.

It was not a treasure that should be used to repair a replica, since it was well documented that it could even shield one from heavenly punishment. But most importantly…

”Thatʼs not something we can just find even in the Upper Realms. It has long since gone extinct. I doubt weʼll even find one in the Greater Realms.”

Tia gave a small, helpless smile, her fingers brushing across the broken surface of the spindle as if trying to soothe it.

”I know. That Heavenbound Eternal Silkworm is practically a legend. Even if it exists, it would be guarded like a supreme treasure by a major power that has True Deities.” She paused before adding, ”As for an Eternal Dominion Silkworm Physique user… we might have some luck, but thatʼs even worse since weʼd be asking them to give up a part of their very soul.”

Myria nodded, ”We could heal them… but yes, once an Eternal Dominion Silkworm Physique user has expended their soul essence to create silk, it is indeed very difficult to restore their soul essence. There have been records of even Saints having failed to heal them, but for us, it shouldnʼt be that hard. However-”

Her lips twitched.

It would be better to just use Fallen Heaven to restore the spindle in that case, since the karmic burden from healing such a person with a heaven-defying physique would more or less be similar.

The room fell into silence again.

Tia had little idea as to what Myria wanted to say, but she imagined it was related to Davisʼs secrets.

She was also a bit peeved since she wanted to use Ophiryaʼs Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent blood essence for herself, but determined that it wouldnʼt be nearly enough to change her physique, so she decided to use it to repair the spindle, but the other materials required ended up being too expensive or outright nonexistent anymore.

Although she was confident in being able to repair the Karmic Destiny Spindle if she had any one of these two treasures, it was wasteful. She felt that there must be better alternatives and decided to go ask Lereza, who inherited the World Masterʼs knowledge of herbs and many other stuff although it was only up to the Empyrean Stage.

Tia informed Myria of her decision.

”Iʼll go ask Dalila then. She has recently inherited a pill inheritance.” Myria also said.

”Wait, Lereza has more respect for you. Iʼll go ask Dalila.”

”Sure.”

The two of them left with Tia carrying the Scarlet Destiny Spindle.

==========

In another place, there was a guest palace floating within the clouds.

It was not far from the Davis Family Estate, and the clouds were slightly peculiar and dark, even resembling a serpent.

Inside the palace, Rokushi Mirai sat as she unleashed the black-white stones runes, her energy considerably draining, but she kept it up for a long time and continued to learn and comprehend even though there was a long interval between each session.

Fortunately, Davis hadnʼt come to take it back even after four weeks, allowing her to have massive gains as her comprehension of Death Laws increased. Of course, each time, she had also gone to Myria to gain her permission to use it for more time, since she couldnʼt find Davis, since apparently he was in ʼclosed-doorʼ cultivation.

She had no idea.

===========

Light footsteps echoed across the stretch of wood that stretched across the mountain range. Even among them, there was someone who acted like he didnʼt care and strode heavily. Each step carried a weight that crushed the wood into smithereens and the grass into paste.

On a hilltop, a man appeared.

He was tall and broad, wrapped in layered hides and plated armor that bore scars of countless battles. His presence alone caused the surrounding air to tremble faintly, and the killing aura around him didnʼt seem to be less than that of a beast.

His gaze locked onto the distance where he located a strange formation with his ocular art, his lips curling.

”So this is the reason all magical beasts have left this area. Seems like weʼre gonna enjoy ourselves tonight, boys~”

”Hahaha!”

Hundreds of bandits emerged from the forest and laughed along with the bandit leader, agreeing with him.

He raised his hand, fingers crackling with crude yet overwhelming lightning-gold energy. The space around him warped as he gathered power, intending to tear apart the formation by force.

It wasnʼt the first time he encountered such a formation.

There were countless people who suddenly noticed that the source of the sudden increase in the density of the heaven and earth energy came from the Magical Beast Badlands in the southeast. This made a lot of people migrate to enjoy more energy and find rich resources.

However, the more the bandit group advanced, the more they found something peculiar.

There was a space that was a void, but not in terms of reality, but territorial occupation.

Usually, it would be because some terrifying magical beast was here, so people would move away, but he noticed that there was no magical beast clan here, making him imagine that some kind of peak power from the Golden Radiance Empire had migrated here.

Perhaps it was a noble family. Perhaps it was a kingdom. Perhaps it was some kind of sect or subordinate power from one of these. Regardless, he was intent on ripping open the formation and testing the waters himself.

As he gathered his energy, a thick triangular metallic frame appeared in the air, filled with lightning arcing like tentacles.

But before he could release it- a streak of jade light split the sky from the direction of the formation.

”…!”

The banditʼs pupils shrank as his instincts screamed. This strange jade light descended not as a beam but as a blade.

His body twisted with explosive force, abandoning his gathered attack without hesitation. The triangular lightning construct shattered in his grasp as he forced himself aside.

The jade light struck.

The hilltop split.

A vast crescent carved into the land as though the world itself had been peeled open. Earth, stone, and trees vanished in a single sweeping arc, reduced to nothing under the descending blade of light.

A violent gust followed, sweeping outward and throwing dozens of bandits off their feet. Some were sent tumbling down the slope while others slammed into broken trunks, coughing blood.

”What!?”

”Who dares!?

The bandit leader looked down the broken hilltop as he gazed with his ocular arts.

Amidst the dust and rocks, a figure slowly hovered, emitting an emerald radiance.

Her broadsword rested in her hand, its massive edge still humming with condensed light that flickered like restrained lightning. Her expression held no fluctuation as her gaze swept across the bandit group.

The leader landed a distance away on another hilltop, boots skidding across shattered stone before coming to a halt. He slowly straightened, eyes narrowing.

”…So there is a guardian.”

The woman did not reply.

Her silence was heavier than his killing intent.

The bandits behind him regained their footing, their earlier laughter gone. Some swallowed nervously, others tightened their grips on their weapons.

However, the leader sneered as he made sure that the other partyʼs cultivation was less than his.

He rolled his neck, ”Kill her.”

He stepped forward at the same time.

The command was simple, and the response was immediate as the other bandits believed in their leader.

Hundreds of figures surged forward, their auras erupting all at once. Hundreds of Empyreans. Blades flashed, arrows whistled, and crude techniques were unleashed in a chaotic wave aimed directly at the emerald-robed woman.

However, she merely stepped forward, her calm expression suddenly turning insane as she revealed a cruel and maniacal smile.

Her broadsword lifted before she swung at the bandits.

The motion was too slow, but everyone suddenly felt their hearts leap up to their throats.

Too slow?

At least, it seemed that way, but some who had been in numerous life and death situations knew they were fucked beyond compare as the jade light erupted from the giant broadsword.

A wide arc of jade radiance burst from her blade, expanding as it traveled. It met the incoming attacks head-on and erased them. Weapons shattered mid-flight, techniques dissolved into nothing, and the front line of bandits was engulfed instantly.

Their bodies did not break but vanished even as the arc continued without any impedence.

It tore through the charging group, carving a clean path through dozens before finally dissipating far beyond, leaving only a silent mountain forest of empty space where they once stood.

The ground trembled, leaving the leader whose grin froze as he came to a stop mid-air.

”First measure of the Davis Family when dealing with unknown assailants- issue a warning.”

Zanqua Jadelight turned to look at the bandit leader with an evil smile, ”If the warning fails, kill without mercy.”

”You-”

The bandit leader wanted to scream that this bitch didnʼt even issue the warning before his body cleanly parted from top to bottom.

Yotan descended with a cold expression, ”Please do not poach our Reaper Soul Legionʼs duty.”
