Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3898  Emergency Meeting

”You… come here and sit down first.”

With a wave of his hand, Davis cleared the chamber of his research material.

He stood up, summoning a lot of cushions as he invited Mingzhi and the others inside and prepared a meeting. Except for Myria, Tina, Dalila, Sophie, Nadia, and Fiora, who have either piled themselves in work or intentionally kept away from matters because they were pregnant, all were present.

Mingzhi opened her mouth, about to explain.

Tia was here, looking very attentive.

This future was something she had no idea of, so she listened as she wanted to give it her all.

”Youʼre asking me to explain, but this place is two realms away. All the news had was the murder of around forty Empyreans and Autarchs. Around four or double the number of Divergents invaded the execution stage and rescued the three death row inmates. The Divine Emperor of Death had attacked Clara after she told him to die somewhere away from her sight.”

”…” Davis and everyone blinked.

Mingzhi raised her hand and grabbed her throat, adjusting her voice.

”Begone from my sight, you- you abominable Divergent!” She tried to imitate Clara, exuding a cold voice before she spread her hands.

”That was the headline of the news and also something Clara uttered to you before you went crazy on her, saying, ʼI donʼt have a disobedient little sister,ʼ and attacked her into splitting blood and fainting. The public opinion right now is that youʼre an evil brother abusing the Heavenʼs Warrior little sister, and many have voiced their opinion to support her.”

”…”

Davisʼs expression was blank, ”Are you serious?”

He attacked Clara and injured her gravely? How could he do that? Was there something at play here, or was he controlled by someone?

”Thatʼs at least how the news has spread.” Mingzhi shrugged, not taking responsibility for sharing this news.

”…”

Davisʼs expression sank.

Did he really harm Clara?

ʼAssuming I did, for what reason? Has she reverted to her physique and become a true Heavenʼs Warrior? No, even if that happened, I wouldnʼt go as far as to harm her. Clara said to me to die somewhere where she canʼt see, which means she still cares about me but wanted me to leave?ʼ

Davis formed a line of assumptions but couldnʼt understand why.

Mingzhi shot a look at every one. Her sisters also couldnʼt believe that he would dare harm Clara, for he was literally the brother they wished they had, someone who doted on his little sister the most. Clara wasnʼt his woman, but she held a similar power in the family; her words and opinions swayed his heart.

It was nearly impossible to see him harming her. Even when she harmed Ellia, he didnʼt find fault with her and blamed himself.

Yet, he attacked with the intent to kill? It was unbelievable.

Mingzhi inwardly sighed, knowing these two probably had come up with a plan. However, she couldnʼt tell why. But thinking back to Myriaʼs words, she couldnʼt help but blink.

Is it because Clara decided to take a step into the world of the Heavenʼs Warriors and spare Davis the trouble of protecting her?

There were too many factors at play that were unbeknown to them, and the information wasnʼt fully transparent. She could only rely on the verified statements released from the established intelligence organizations. Unlike the First Haven World, which was one continent, one realm, these were multiple realms.

It wouldnʼt be strange if some news reached the furthest realm from here in a hundred years or even a thousand years later. It was only because the news of the Divine Emperor of Death was scalding and important enough to form hunting parties to eliminate him that it was spreading fast.

Nonetheless, Mingzhi raised her hand, smiling a bit with pride.

”But the other main matter is— you were foolish yet daring enough to bring down your Immortal Emperor Tribulation near the execution stage and cross it right under their noses.”

”…!”

”It has become a shameful matter for the Heavenʼs Warriors.” Mingzhi giggled.

Davis and the others were shocked.

”I entered Immortal Emperor Stage?”

Davis looked at himself, wondering why he was still an Immortal King then, but he guessed it was because his main body still hadnʼt entered the range to form a connection that allowed energy transfer and information transfer.

ʼDamn it. Karmic attacks work even if the avatar is out of range, but breakthroughs donʼt?ʼ

Davis inwardly cursed.

However, he understood this was because the rules for creating something and destroying something were different. Even in karma, it was the same. It was difficult to beget a relationship but easy to destroy.

Still, he couldnʼt hide his smile. Although he didnʼt know how he crossed his Immortal Emperor Tribulation or what kind of foes he met, it was only a matter of time before his main body returned and let him know everything.

ʼOh right… I donʼt need to know because Iʼm not the main body.ʼ

Davis blinked.

He felt like he had reached a point where he was deviating from his main bodyʼs experiences as too many things happened. This shouldnʼt happen, or when they rejoin, their egos and opinions will clash. Sometimes, it would even lead to insanity, so one or the other would stop with the mental gymnastics and return to dormancy until the one with the right mentality returns.

Otherwise, it would become a case of revolting. He had read about many cases like these when going through the records and techniques in order to create an avatar since he was previously unable to.

”What happened finally?” Still, he couldnʼt help but ask.

”I donʼt know, but the rumors are that you escaped, and the calamities falling on the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm have been taken care of by the powerful experts there. Maybe weʼll know more tomorrow as the news is being constantly updated. Theyʼre selling hot, like cheap yet good cultivation pills.”

Mingzhi shook her head, ”You better not have harmed Clara. Otherwise, Iʼm snitching to your parents.”

”You-”

Davis pointed at her before he took his hands back and took a deep breath.

”Okay, thatʼs a lot to process, too much for a disconnected avatar like me. The main body would be much more informed and have the original emotions about the encounters faced. I canʼt hear the news from someone or something else and form opinions and judgments on important matters such as these without being connected. Otherwise, our personas will clash. If I had escaped as you said, then considering the prowess the main body used, I would be back within two to three days. Until then, this avatar will slumber.”ʼ

Davis stood up, went to the bed, and slept beside Katherine Hilltail. The latter was also asleep, so nothing was of concern.

”…”

The rest of them blinked.

”Really? He just pressed shut down and disconnected.” Mingzhi scoffed.

She wanted to talk more, but obviously, she couldnʼt wake him up unless there was a good enough reason, like an update to the news. However, it was as Davis said. Without the main body returning, they wouldnʼt be able to discern the truth of the matter.

And as Davis predicted— two days later, the sleeping avatar abruptly shuddered!

The main body was within range!
