Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3897  Researching The Secrets of Bloodline Evolution

Davis pursed his lips. Without saying anything, he turned around and walked back to Katherine Hilltail.

”I have to continue making improvements to the new life-attributed technique Iʼm developing. Donʼt disturb me unless you need to. I canʼt waste time, or did you two really think that I was just hiding here from you all?”

He stood in front of Katherine Hilltail and touched her forehead with his index finger, sending his soul sense inside.

The core was embedded before the soul sea. It was very small, compressed to the utmost manner to the size of a pigeon egg or even smaller, but it wasnʼt the smallest core as Immortal Emperor and Emperor-Tier Beasts were capable of making themselves small as they were able to change the size of their bodies although the general rule was that Immortal Emperor Beasts couldnʼt make it as nearly as small as Emperor-Tier Beasts could.

Everlight and Nadiaʼs core could shrink to the size of the tip of a pinky finger.

Nonetheless, the more compressed the core was, the better its structure could be researched as opposed to making it bigger since the runes became more concentrated. It was also better for his senses to reach it easily that way, something that made it easier for the researcher rather than the patient.

Katherine Hilltail didnʼt even stiffen. She seemed to be fine with the intrusion, perhaps because she had received his inspection a lot. In fact, she looked him in the eyes, wondering what he was thinking while holding her although she was vaguely uncomfortable as she seemed to have unknowingly intruded up on an important conversation.

”…”

Mingzhi and the others couldnʼt say anything after he put it like that. He always answered their questions even if they were controversial, but he couldnʼt answer what he would do if Clara had been endangered. That rang alarm bells in them as they could see him totally lose cool and court death!

”What are you three waiting for? Itʼs obvious what I would do if Clara is in harmʼs reach, so itʼs useless to talk about it. Go do some work or take some rest.”

Davis waved them off, but he didnʼt look at them.

”Let her go.”

Abruptly, Myria uttered.

”Clara is our family, but ultimately, sheʼs not meant to be here with us. As long as she has her physique, her destiny is meant to lead her to glory with Heavenʼs Warriors or die somewhere before she can make it. Because of this, thousands of such physique owners donʼt make it out alive as they die early. As powerful as they are with heavenʼs influence, most of them lack prowess, but if they enter Heavenʼs Warriors Organizations, they will become carp leaping out of the water to become dragons. You should let her go. Perhaps that is whatʼs best for her.”

”…”

Davis remained silent.

After a few seconds, he let go of Katherine Hilltail and looked behind.

”Seriously?”

He looked at Myria, his eyes narrowing.

”Thatʼs because it is impossible to reclaim her once she has reached their base. We heard that she got caught as your, the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs little sister, so it is also better to extricate yourself from her. Otherwise, your presence would only be harming her, as Clara will not be able to bear to see you suffer. Sheʼs a caring girl despite her physique. Donʼt make it worse by throwing your life away in front of her.”

”…” Davis was speechless.

Of course, he had considered Claraʼs position in relation to Heavenʼs Warriors, but ultimately, he found it difficult to let go as he wasnʼt sure how safe she would be with the Heavenʼs Warriors.

It must be understood that she is a woman with the great Transcendent Truth Eyes Physique. He hadnʼt heard of such a person, so he was aware that someone higher up in the Heavenʼs Warriors organization could take advantage of her situation and initiate an arranged marriage with her. He didnʼt want her to be forced or accept a ridiculous condition for her to be forgiven in return.

Even if she wasnʼt harmed, she could be repressed in various ways.

Myria held his hands, looking at him with pleading eyes.

”I always told you that it is in her nature to kill you in the end, but I changed my mind. It is now your turn to change your mind. We canʼt have her here or only harm her future. Youʼre doing dangerous experiments on her physique. What if, during her tribulation, she receives a backlash and becomes crippled with divine lightning? We canʼt heal that. It is still fine as she appears to be loved by the heavens more than an average Heavenʼs Warriors, but donʼt push your luck. I will not allow you to play with her life anymore.”

”…”

”Trust me… The Heavenʼs Warriors are more likely to welcome her presence than exclude her if you would just stay out of her life..”

Myria stretched her words as she enunciated, causing Davis to tremble ever so lightly. His eyes were wide, as though he didnʼt want to face reality, but he closed them a few seconds later and sighed.

”Youʼre right. Perhaps I really hadnʼt given it much thought regarding Claraʼs situation and was too pessimistic.”

Davis spoke with a light smile before he shook his head.

”But what use is it saying it to me? Everything is in the hands of my main body.”

”…”

Myria pursed her lips, blinking. She forgot to think about that but shook her head.

”Regardless, if you bring her back, then be prepared to unwittingly harm her and defend the family. The Heavenʼs Warriors would undoubtedly think you kidnapped her again and would treat this case more seriously than ever, sending more hunting parties toward us.”

”…”

Davis scratched his head. To kidnap his own sister was a stretch, but considering the influence of the Heavenʼs Warriors, they really could frame him for such a thing, and it would be up to his little sister to prove it wrong, but that would just only put more burden on her.

He understood what Myria meant. Fighting and killing the Heavenʼs Warriors from now on would only put Clara in a difficult position and make her guilty. He could already see signs of depression after she tricked the Heavenʼs Warriors, which meant she really did feel guilty.

He didnʼt want her to experience such emotions.

”I know.” Evelynn clenched her fists, looking downtrodden, ”It was arrogant of me to think I can stop the heavenʼs influence-”

”No, you did succeed.” Myria hurriedly looked at her, ”Thatʼs why Clara hasnʼt attacked us and is able to retain her sanity, so believe yourself. Youʼre capable of much more in the future. What Iʼm saying is that we shouldnʼt take it too far and leave it to Claraʼs own Will. We need to trust that she is as reliable as husband. Theyʼre brother and sister, arenʼt they?”

”Yes…”

Evelynn felt chills. She never pegged Myria to be able to console this well. Should she say, as expected of a Saintess?

”In fact— sheʼs a true empress, way more talented and responsible than this womanizer.”

Mingzhi rubbed the bridge of her nose as she averted her gaze.

”That was uncalled for.”

Davis gave her a side eye before he swung his palm at her butt.

”Ah~”

Mingzhi jumped playfully and gained distance from her, shooting a naughty tongue at him before she took a deep breath.

”Donʼt die. Come back to us safely, or Iʼll divorce you and get married with your new body again~”

”Then I really canʼt afford to die, can I?”

Davis and Mingzhi smiled at each other with a knowing look.

On the other hand, Evelynn and Myria blinked. Was their love language insulting each other and becoming dirty together? It was unknown what kind of sexual escapades they were planning, even in this precarious situation.

Nonetheless, seeing that Davis understood her, Myria heaved a sigh of relief.

She was afraid he would go crazy if he really lost Clara to the Heavenʼs Warriors and came back with his head down. Fortunately, the avatar and his main body would connect as long as they were in the range, so he should be able to cheer up sooner, or so she thought.

A day later, after Mingzhi had gone out to gather some news, she finally returned.

”What happened?”

Her sisters asked near the entrance to the mini-realm. After all, by now, they all knew Davis had left back then with Clara. They were now worried sick, but the consensus was that he was safe as Davisʼs avatar didnʼt seem to have received damage. However, they could see Mingzhi was frantic and even horrified, rushing towards Davisʼs seclusion chamber.

They all followed her, not stopping for anything until they made it to his chamber. The others also joined them.

Mingzhi smashed the door again, but this time, Katherine Hilltail seemed to be sleeping on the bed while Davis was reading up on some research scrolls as he sat on the ground. The ground was littered with hundreds of scrolls from his research that he seemed to have personally written down.

He turned to look at Mingzhi, raising his brows.

”Bastard, what have you done?” Mingzhiʼs eyes were wide.

”…”

Davisʼs heart sank. What had he done? Did he kill billions? Trillions? Or did he utterly annihilate everyone with Fallen Heaven, unable to endure the scene of his friendʼs death?

”Well, let me know.”

Davis adjusted uncomfortably. Even he was scared of himself, who possessed Fallen Heaven. It wouldnʼt be strange if he sought the end of the world, as he just wasnʼt the type to die silently.

”You… you invaded the execution stage and killed over forty Empyreans and Autarchs, even defeated three at the Peak Stage and made two of them your slaves. It seemed that many Divergents and even an Anarchic Divergent helped you, but they seemed to have only rescued your friends while you personally remained and killed most of them and apparently tried to kill Clara after she denied returning with you.”

”Huh?”

Davis had a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Killed over forty Empyreans and Autarchs? Enslaved two Peak Stage Empyreans or Autarchs?

Many Divergents helped him?

Attacked Clara?

It was not only him who was confused, but the beauties behind Mingzhi were also shocked.

What the fuck was going on?
