Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3943  A Matter Of Convenience

”So audacious.”

At this moment, a black-robed woman flew towards them and raised her hand.

*Pow!~*

The resounding sound of a cheek hit with a whipping palm could be heard. It was as though it echoed in the entire forest, considering how silent it was.

The thirteenth prince lost all his teeth and spat blood with that slap, his head swaying before his neck went limp, and he lost consciousness.

*Bang!~*

However, the woman followed with a kick to the crotch, causing the thirteenth prince to spit out a mouthful of blood before he squeezed himself together, unable to bear the pain. He appeared to have regained consciousness, quivering crazily as he looked like a pig that was going to be butchered.

It was unknown if his balls survived.

Davis looked at Mingzhi, who slapped and kicked Mote Daynight. His blank expression produced a light smile.

”Darling~ I found their cultivation manual.”

Mingzhi turned to look at Davis with a bright smile behind her veil. She flew back to him and produced a sweet voice as though to cool him down, ”Itʼs called the Eternal Daynight Scripture. It contains records up to the Immortal Emperor Grade, but I would like if there were records about the Empyrean Grade section as well.”

She handed him their spatial rings.

”Good thing theyʼre Immortal Emperors rather than Sovereigns.”

Davis raised his brows as he got back the spatial rings. If they were Transcendents, then they might not have had the Immortal version of their cultivation manual. Fortunately, they were immortals. However, he couldnʼt understand why they would practice the immortal version when the transcendent cultivation method was much more popular.

Was it due to inheriting traditions?

He cast a glance at the thirteenth prince, who was still leaking blood before he gazed at Mingzhi.

”If you hadnʼt taught him a lesson, I mightʼve made the move to kill or inflicted tremendous pain on him.”

”You stay right here and relax. Let me handle it until I need you.”

Mingzhi hugged his arm and asked nicely.

Davis blinked at her as he saw she was in a good mood. Considering she obtained what she was looking for, he understood before he nodded, wondering what she had in store for him.

Mingzhi walked towards them and touched her forehead, seemingly pitying them, but her gaze was on the thirteenth prince, a cold light radiating out of her black eyes.

”My husband is quite benevolent, but Iʼm not like him. I will torture you to my liking until you beg for death for the crime of insulting my husband. I will commit murder without remorse, so you better shut your mouth and let the others speak before you make your final death wish.”

”…”

The thirteenth prince was naturally unable to reply, still shuddering from the pain.

”Imperial Advisor Hansen, right?”

”Yes!”

Imperial Advisor Hansen immediately responded as though he would be at the beck and call all day long.

”Letʼs not waste each otherʼs time. Weʼll let you go under two conditions. No, we wonʼt ask you to commit evil acts, but we may ask you to commit fraud or a robbery.”

”Rob- A robbery, you say?”

”Yes, go back to the capital and steal the Infernal Haze Retribution Cloudʼs Core from the treasury or wherever it is.”

”The Infernal Haze Retribution Cloudʼs Core…?”

Imperial Advisor Hansenʼs eyes bulged. He knew the ruckus it created when Grand Elder Rafalgar hunted that Void Calamity and brought back its core. It chilled the entire capital and made them rejoice as they possessed a heavenly resource of the Empyrean Grade.

Although it wasnʼt useful to their cultivations, they could use it to trade for what they wanted or even sell it in a grand auction and rake in an enormous amount of wealth.

The Divine Emperor of Deathʼs woman wanted them to steal such a thing?

He didnʼt even know if such a thing even left Grand Elder Rafalgarʼs spatial ring.

”Of course, if you can obtain it by pooling in all four of your lousy contribution points and bring it back to us, that works too.”

Mingzhi casually shrugged, ”The second condition is for you to also bring back the Empyrean Grade Eternal Daynight Scripture. I must say, this cultivation manual is practically tailored for me.”

She raised her hand and narrowed her eyes as though focusing. From the fingertip of her left handʼs index finger and right handʼs index finger, two types of energy appeared. A ray of pure white light that had a completely different aura than that of a sacred aura bloomed out of her left index finger, and darkness rose from her right as it came from the depths of the underworld.

The two of them extended and intertwined, appearing to be in complete harmony.

”Impossible…!” Imperial Advisor Hansenʼs eyes bulged again, ”You have the Eternal Daynight Physique? Who are you?”

He wondered if this woman carried the Daynight Familyʼs Bloodline. It was a unique bloodline that allowed their family to produce numerous experts who were talented in Light Laws and Darkness Laws, sometimes both. Those who could control both possessed high bloodline purity, but there were those who could even fuse light and darkness, and they possessed the Eternal Daynight Physique.

Their founder was one such individual, and so was their Realm Master.

The eighth prince and fourteenth prince also looked dumbstruck. What they wouldnʼt give to have that kind of physique? Their eyes instantly contained jealousy as they looked at the black-robed woman.

”…”

Mingzhi blinked.

She was pretty sure that she did not have the Eternal Daynight Physique as hers was just a mutation from the Malevolent Darkness Physique, not to mention a Divergent Physique. She guessed this Eternal Daynight Physique had a similar ability to hers without the divergence.

She put down her hands and moved her lips.

”Who I am isnʼt important. If you canʼt do these two things, then even if my husband agrees to let go because you will keep quiet about us, I wouldnʼt let go. I will kill all of you and have the Daynight Family as enemies, then let you go and have the Daynight Family as enemies.”

Mingzhi coldly uttered and looked away as she watched the fire that Davis lit up on the tree go out. She looked back at them and narrowed her eyes devilishly.

”Timeʼs up.”

”…!”

Imperial Advisor Hansen and the others quivered. They had just heard her proposition, but they were already forced to make a decision? Clearly, this was extortion!

”Do it… Weʼll do it.” The eighth prince, Nova Daynight, uttered with a sigh.

”If we pool in contribution points, we should have enough to— enter the top level of the Treasury. Weʼll then steal it and escape.”

”That doesnʼt sound promising, but fine. If you fail, your capital is going to end up like his balls, cracked and bloodied.”

Mingzhi giggled, causing the thirteenth prince to shudder while the others couldnʼt help but close their legs.

Davis couldnʼt help but shake his head.

They could invade the capital and rob them clean, but they couldnʼt be bothered as it would just make them more infamous and give people the reason they need to hate them even more. Of course, he didnʼt pay heed to the common populaceʼs opinion as it canʼt be changed unless the heavens changed, but he didnʼt want to turn the Lower Realms into his enemies needlessly.

If he clashed with one major power without a good reason, the other major powers would also likely think he couldnʼt be reasoned with and form a crusade against him. He could take care of them but didnʼt want to waste time. In his mind, there were so many things to do.

Nonetheless, he looked at Mingzhi lovingly.

He had pretty much given up on the Infernal Haze Retribution Cloudʼs Core and only wanted to get the Eternal Daynight Scripture, but Mingzhi went above that, still targeting what he wasnʼt able to obtain.

He walked forward, locking sight with Flamerose and Frostrose as he extended both of his hands and used death energy and karmic energy, fusing them to impose his judgment on the Imperial Advisor and the three princes for chasing them around and attacking them, which is no different than sinning against them.

He collected the purple-black wisps of karmic sin from them and snapped his fingers, completing his spell as he cast his judgment on them.

”Hansen, Nova Daynight, Mote Daynight, Ray Daynight, if you were to ever speak about our encounter to someone else or act in a way that harms us in the slightest way, then you will all turn silent and drop on the spot, and meet a silent death as you commit suicide by soul implosion.”

”!!!”

Suddenly, the four of them felt a tremor as their eyes shot wide. They looked at the Divine Emperor of Death incredulously, wondering if they had just been cursed as they could feel a terrifying chill running across their spine. It never left, still haunting them as though reminding them that the curse could activate anytime.

”W-What did you do…?” The fourteenth prince was scared shitless he practically shed tears.

The eighth princeʼs gaze flashed, ”Do we have your word that youʼll release us from this curse if we do as you say?”

”You do have my word,” Davis nodded, ”And it is up to you to believe it or not. If you fail, weʼll be on our way to your capital anyway, so feel free to retaliate there, although I donʼt think you or your two brothers would be alive by then.”

”…”

Nova Daynightʼs heart sank.

He had the feeling that this man absolutely didnʼt care if the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm was his enemy or not, as though it was only a matter of minor inconvenience.
