Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3900  A Bandit Hideout?

Davisʼs eyes shot wide as he couldnʼt believe he chanced upon Wix Voidfield. Because the rocky and uneven surface of the asteroid blocked the view of the sunken entrance, one of many entrances, he wasnʼt able to see her, but after he passed by, he was able to see her when he almost passed by that particular asteroid within the cluster.

She was gazing in the direction of the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm.

Was she worried for him?

Davis descended towards her with a smile that couldnʼt be hidden.

”…?”

Rokushi Mirai was confused by the sudden change of direction. She was focusing on seeing through his concealment ability, after all. However, she could also see the purple-robed woman standing near one of the entrances or caves that went into the asteroid.

She wondered why the Divine Emperor of Death was going towards her, thinking if he was going to assassinate her when he suddenly undid the concealment.

”Senior Wix.”

It was like the call from the void, making Wix Voidfield shudder ever so lightly before she turned to look towards the side and spotted him.

”Davis…”

Her eyes went wide, unable to believe that he was here.

She could only watch him descend with a petrified gaze before he finally landed in front of her and cupped his hand.

”Wh-What happened? Are you fine?” She was finally able to speak, glancing towards the realm before she glanced back at him again.

She truly couldnʼt sense if he was him as he had become an Immortal Emperor, his aura and demeanor completely different from the cold or even mad youngster she had seen.

”…”

Davis couldnʼt help but feel a sense of warmth from her presence, and because she was Stellaʼs mother, he was inclined to be good to her all the more. Now that he found himself before her, Davis suddenly remembered that he hadnʼt properly talked to her back in the Obsidian Citadel. His thoughts were full of saving his friends that he wasnʼt able to pay his respects to his mother-in-law.

”I am fine, Senior Wix. I hope I didnʼt offend you before because I was too blind to see your beauty.”

Davis bowed and apologized.

”What are you saying?” Wix Voidfield quickly knew it was him as she smiled and waved her sleeves lightly.

”I am glad that you are fine, but…” She looked at Rokushi Mirai, guessing she was the conspirator that Davis told them about, before she continued, ”… the senior disciples have rushed to the realm to save you. I hope they are not caught and can safely return.”

”Really?”

Davis looked taken aback.

He turned to look at the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm in the distance before sensing a few presences approaching him from within the asteroid. He turned to look and found Saintess Lunaria and her other disciples approaching him.

He could see Kisha Blackheart, Isolde Grimsong, Karyot, and Laphria Rinmei appear in his vision, so this meant Qiyra Darkstar, Reval Heremic, Glacia Frigidveil and Jaiyan had gone to rescue him.

”What!? How are you still alive?” Karyot gawked, his hands on his head.

”You… you entered the Immortal Emperor Stage?” Even the refined Isolde Grimsong, who was blind, appeared to be shocked.

”Unexpected…” Kisha Blackheartʼs lips curled before she licked them as though wanting to feast on Davisʼs new immortal energy.

”Woah… little brother is so strong~” Laphria Rinmei also looked genuinely taken aback.

”You managed to extricate yourself from the Heavenʼs Warriors and further managed to enter the Immortal Emperor Stage? How?”

Saintess Lunariaʼs gaze also shook. That was a feat she could hardly imagine. After all, if he had survived, that meant that he hadnʼt used the apex treasure. Otherwise, the consequences would be much more severe, but he was walking perfectly fine and looking uninjured. He didnʼt even look exhausted or have the grim look that was plastered on his face for a long time.

Could it be that he just left after seeing that he couldnʼt do anything? But that didnʼt explain how he became an Immortal Emperor.

So it only left that black-white stone treasure he held. That wasnʼt the apex treasure, then?

”Well…”

Davis looked embarrassed. He couldnʼt exactly brag about relying on a treasure. However, before he could say a word, numerous undulations appeared in the distance.

”What the… heʼs there?”

A group of four appeared in the distance. They looked shocked when a man shouted.

He was none other than Reval Heremic. The other three disciples who went to find and rescue him were Jaiyan, Qiyra Darkstar, and Glacia Frigidveil. Even the silent Qiyra Darkstar had her eyes wide, looking at him like he was a ghost.

”We heard that you escaped and searched for you for a while, but it seems like we only wasted our time if youʼre here.” Glacia Frigidveil laughed lightly.

”Oh, so he left…” Saintess Lunaria heaved a sigh as she touched her bosom, looking relieved.

”Nah,” Jaiyan waved his hand, ”He destroyed the Obsidian Citadel and plagued the nearby region with his anarchic nature as he brought down his tribulation and caused over thirty or forty Empyreans and Autarchs to die, most of them Heavenʼs Warriors. He even enslaved two Peak Stage Autarch Heavenʼs Warriors, right?”

”…!”

Saintess Lunaria shuddered ever so lightly as she gazed at Davis.

Everyone looked at him with wide eyes, while Rokushi Mirai also looked at him with disbelief.

That black-white stone ainʼt that powerful! But if it is, how come it unleashed such prowess in his hands!?

”Master, this is embarrassing.” Reval Heremic rubbed his head, ”If he didnʼt need our help, why did you implore us to rescue him?”

”…”

Saintess Lunaria was at a loss. This wasnʼt supposed to be how it went in her mind. Even if Davis could kill them, he wouldnʼt be unscathed, and neither would the surroundings. An entire realm could collapse, so she wanted to avoid that and help him.

”Seniors.”

Davis clasped his hands towards them, ”I apologize for my rude behavior. I wasnʼt in my right mind as I had only one goal in mind: to save my friends no matter the cost. Your help was all I needed to change the situation to my advantage. I couldnʼt have saved my friends by myself, so your help was extremely necessary. I am extremely grateful.”

”… I guess so…” Reval Heremic blinked.

Why did this arrogant man suddenly become humble now? Was this another person?

Nonetheless, he agreed with Davis, thinking back to the point where the executionerʼs blade almost got one head and the other two beheaded. If it werenʼt for them working together to break the barriers and make it inside, they would not have been able to save the three of them.

”Not bad…”

Jaiyan nodded. He could finally see why his master would go this far. An arrogant and self-serving man wouldnʼt even reach his masterʼs eyes, much less grab a space in her mind. She would want nothing to do with such a person, but if he was usually this chill and reasonable to talk to, then there was nothing to worry about.

”So why are you standing here for? Go inside to meet your friends.” Glacia Frigidveil warmly waved him off.

Davisʼs heart went heavy.

He wondered if they were fully safe as it was possible they could be poisoned, but considering Saintess Lunaria was with them, he wasnʼt worried much, knowing that she would save him. However, he still didnʼt know how he should face them.

Not only had he harmed them, but he caused their lives to go astray. They could no longer live with their families, and it was unknown what kind of treatment their families that were left behind would receive. Exile was probably the most merciful judgment they would get.

”I have a lot of questions to ask, but letʼs go inside. Your friends are being healed by Shimei.”

Saintess Lunaria invited him in.

She turned around and walked back inside, prompting Davis and the others to follow her.
