Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3945  Frostroseʼs Minor Variance

”No,” Flamerose dismissively shook her hand, ”We heard that our mother is a variant Fire Phoenix. Her variance was quite unknown as it only made her weak, but after weʼre born, it is pretty clear that she carries ice-attribute variance. It was a curse, in her opinion. She hates herself to the core as she lacks pride in her blood, so how could she love us?”

”Oh…” Davis couldnʼt help but feel bad, but he was honestly intrigued.

Since he was creating variances in magical beasts, he felt the need to know more.

”So Frostrose is entirely not an Ice Phoenix?”

”She is not, but she was too close to one and became an Ice Phoenix by absorbing a lot of blood essences from an Ice Phoenix when she was still a child. Otherwise, she wouldnʼt have survived and died from her own strange icy flames.”

Flamerose explained, causing Davis to blink.

”Then someone in your clan did care about Frostrose, no?”

”…”

Flamerose and Frostrose went silent. It was unknown what they were thinking.

Davis also thought that the clan just wanted to take advantage of their strange birth. However, he didnʼt say it as he didnʼt want them to be on bad terms with their parents. He wished for no one to have that unless their parents were beyond redeemable. Nonetheless, he knew he went too far with his questioning as he pried too much.

”Anyway, it is incredible to see that the two of your blood can still fuse after taking in someone elseʼs blood essence. As a result, Shirley was able to become extremely strong and even save me from death once. You have my eternal gratitude.”

Davis ended with a genial smile as he cupped his hands.

”We are not sure how itʼs possible.” However, Flamerose continued, ”Perhaps Frostroseʼs blood was way stronger and had less resistance to the Ice Phoenix blood essence, allowing her to integrate with it seamlessly. Isnʼt that right, Frose?”

”Ah? Yes…” Frostrose nodded her gaze somewhere else.

She was looking at the prisoners, but Davis blinked.

Flamerose being talkative was usual, but Frostrose wouldʼve already said a few things about her blood and been more detailed about it. She was smart and wouldʼve figured out a few things. However, the fact that she didnʼt open her mouth, much less maintain a steady gaze with him, told him what was going on.

Regardless, Davis was intrigued by the world of magical beasts.

He felt like if he had a strange red-white ball, he would throw it and catch them all and evolve them. His young heart lit ablaze with passion.

Realizing he had a strange expression, Davis coughed and gestured.

”Flamerose and Frostrose, welcome to the Davis Family. Here, we have…”

He gave them an official invitation and told them about a few rules for joining the Davis Family, as other families did. At the same time, he told them he would make them reach Emperor Tier eventually.

”What…? You would do that for us…?” Flamerose raised her brows, and Frostrose was astonished.

”Of course, Shirley needs your blood to become Emperor-Tier. Her growth is also dependent upon you two. Even without that, I would be glad to have two Phoenix Empresses in my family. Just imagining them watching over my family makes me think we will have immense luck.”

”Of course, weʼll help Shirley as long as our lives last. She is practically our third sister. Are we not?”

”We are!~” Shirley joyfully echoed.

Flamerose giggled as she returned her gaze to Davis, ”But we are not birds of luck.”

”I still perceive phoenixes as birds of fertility and fortune. Thatʼs enough for me.”

”I thought you hated Fire Phoenixes to death~” Flamerose teased him.

Davis coughed, ”Hehem~ Iʼm not the type to still hold grudges after eating the Zenflames till my hunger and revenge were satisfied. There may be some resentment, but I do not hold it against every Fire Phoenix, much less you, Senior Flamerose. To me, youʼre the personification of a true Fire Phoenix.”

”…” Flameroseʼs heart skipped a beat.

She couldnʼt help but smile, ”What a sweet talker you are. No need for honorifics amongst us as our seniority is long gone with how powerful you are. Flamerose is fine.”

”Very well.” Davis nodded before he turned to look at the other twin.

”I can call you Frostrose, right?”

”Yes…” Frostrose finally looked at him with a genial gaze, ”We hope to repay you and do good while continuing our cultivation journey.”

”Welcome to the Davis Family.” Davis cupped his hands.

”Darling! I love you so much!~”

The three of them smiled, and Shirley couldnʼt help but jump on him and wrap her arms around his arms. She looked so happy as she waved his arm around like a little girl.

Davis caressed Shirleyʼs head with his other hand, looking at her fondly.

He could only imagine how worried Shirley felt for the twins as she feared their lives being taken away after the Candidacy and possibly losing their lives in this cruel world. However, it turned out that they could still live and managed to survive this long. She was tremendously happy for them.

”By the way, where is Clara? I want to see if that lad is still doing fine. Maybe I can even give my blood essence to her again as she deserves-”

Amidst the joyous atmosphere, Frostrose asked with an expectant voice. However, she noticed that her words caused Davis and the others to stop smiling, causing her to stop.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

She asked and learned that the Celestial Transcendent took Clara away as a personal disciple.

So the rumors were true!? They could barely tell where Davis was or what he was doing and planned to have him save him or get captured and sent back as a last resort as they could no longer keep running. From their point of view, it was a miracle he appeared at the last second.

They didnʼt know Clara had been taken away. They heard rumors but ignored them all since they knew Davis wouldnʼt let her go. They imagined that it was also a ploy to bait him.

However, it turned out to be true.

Frostrose felt bad for asking. She didnʼt know what to say in order to console him.

”Never mind.” Davis waved his hand, ”Clara is a smart and mature woman. She is my little sister, and I believe she can take care of herself with the Celestial Transcendentʼs protection.”

”You believe such a figure…?” Frostrose blinked.

Wasnʼt the Celestial Transcendent said to be the archnemesis of all Divergents? All the Heavenʼs Warriors and even the rulers of all the realms were worshipful of him. He was known as the Supreme One to most, meaning the one above all.

ʼWith how the World Master has respect for him, I do trust him more than I trust my friend Drake near my daughters.ʼ

ʼBro…ʼ

Davis imagined before he heard a heartbroken echo in his mind.

In his mind, even if Drake didnʼt do anything, his natural charm was enough for most women to fall for him. He held his brother to a high standard when it came to looks and behavior as Drake was indeed a gentleman who cared about consent, but at the same time, he knew matters like this were common in the true immortal world, friends marrying each otherʼs daughters or even granddaughters to their sons or even themselves to keep the wealth in the group or for other reasons simply as one as love.

His naive and cheerful daughters might fall for Drake after growing up since they already highly respect him. Therefore, he would always be cautious regardless of his trust towards Drake. It had nothing to do with Drake himself. Love was fickle, and its burst couldnʼt be logically explained. After it happened, he could do nothing. He would be helpless.

ʼSorry, bro…ʼ

Davis lightly coughed as he got rid of heartbroken Drakeʼs image in his mind and nodded, ”Yes, I do have a semblance of trust in the Celestial Transcendent, but donʼt ask me how.”

”Alright. If you trust the Celestial Transcendent, I guess I can also put my mind at ease…”

Frostrose pursed her lips. She wanted to meet Clara as she adored her and was once her favored candidate. She could only heave a sigh and forget about meeting her until she reached the Upper Realm or even the Greater Realm unless Clara descended.

Davis told her not to worry and then looked back.

He saw the Daynight Family people being released into the wild by Mingzhi as though they were livestock. It appeared like she was done intimidating them.
