Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3901  Asteroid Hideout

Davis walked along with Saintess Lunaria and her disciples.

The insides of the asteroid were unwalled. They were left barren, but they were all durable as much as an Empyrean Grade rock. Otherwise, it would be difficult for these asteroids to survive out here for such a long time, even if they were in the habitable zone.

After all, there were the occasional solar storms or lunar storms to worry about from the fiery and icy stars around them.

”So, does this hideout belong to you guys, or have you killed all the bandits here?”

Even after using his soul sense freely, Davis couldnʼt find many people there. There were only a few more life signatures.

”How rude~” Laphria Rinmei fumed cutely as she glanced at Davis, responding to him, ”Even bandits deserve second chances, but this place has nothing to do with bandits. We have disguised many hideouts to be like this- abandoned bandit hideouts, ancient ruins, death traps, and many more oddities. Otherwise, we wouldnʼt have stayed under the radar of Heavenʼs Warriors until now.”

”Makes sense.”

Davis nodded.

He was always curious as to how Saintess Lunariaʼs disciples were unknown despite them appearing in the true immortal world after their tribulation, not to mention reaching the Empyrean Stage without alerting anyone. He guessed it had to do with the establishment of the Aurora Cloud Gate or a power disguised as such in the true immortal world.

He glanced at Qiyra Darkstar, the first disciple of Saintess Lunaria, wondering if she truly entered the next stage after the Empyrean Stage.

He wanted to ask openly. However, the presence she gave off was quite heavy. It was like she was untouchable but in a superior sense.

They walked for some more time, but it looked like it might take five more minutes or something to reach where his friends were.

”…”

Davis was sure that Saintess Lunaria and the others wanted to talk more. Perhaps they were communicating through soul transmission or a secret method only the disciples knew. The way they were walking beside him was also like they had surrounded him.

Could it be that they were still in doubt if he was the Divine Emperor of Death? He guessed they didnʼt know and was careful of how dangerous he was after having thrashed the execution stage, killing over forty Empyreans and Autarchs before enslaving two of them.

Davis wasnʼt bothered. In fact, he thought it was normal for them to keep their cautiousness up. One should always fear the unknown but shouldnʼt be biased against it.

He opened his mouth, ”What happened to my little sister?”

He turned to look at Jaiyan, his gaze, and expression solemn, expecting for answers. Since they had searched for him, trying to rescue him, they shouldʼve also heard what happened to Clara. He hoped that she was safe.

”We heard that the Heavenly Blight Hall attacked her,” Jaiyan responded.

”…” Davisʼs gaze turned sharp.

What was the Heavenly Blight Hall doing? Did they really plan to kill his sister? Or did they think it was okay to kill his little sister after he declared that he would kill her?

However, he thought he made it clear that only he had the right to kill her back then and even during his assault on her.

Did they not understand?

Davis clenched his fist.

”However, Autarch Elluro Coldwing appeared and saved the day.” Jaiyan continued, ”After saving Autarch Yulan Nazarin and Clara, he went to deal with the Vacuous Beasts. Together with the realm officials, they all managed to stop the calamity and seal the vortex from the strange space.”

”I see.” Davis heaved a sigh of relief as he loosened his fists.

Clara was safe. That was all he needed to know. Even the Celestial Transcendent would arrive within an hour or two from where he left. The Celestial Transcendent promised he would take care of her or at least gave his word. He believed that it would be true, or he hoped so since the World Master highly respected him.

”We donʼt know why he was delayed, but it works for us. We got what we wanted and were able to leave. Otherwise, the four of us could only sacrifice our avatars to get you out.”

”What… why would you all go that far?” Davis looked at them, blinking.

He didnʼt think he deserved such a response from them, causing him to look at Saintess Lunaria.

”Donʼt be arrogant. Itʼs not about you.” Jaiyan laughed, ”We will absolutely not allow our master to feel sad. Anything she wants, she will have it.”

ʼFigures…ʼ

Davis pursed his lips. He was a little jealous of Saintess Lunariaʼs disciple group as it was like a fairytale. They were all strong and could hold on their own individually.

Maybe he should accept strong disciples who would also put his happiness first?

In that case, he guessed he must ban female disciples as he didnʼt trust himself to stay his hand. He had little resistance to beauties whom he was close with or shared a good relationship with. By this time, he was aware of it and planned to stop.

However, it was very difficult to stop. Sometimes, Davis felt his heart ache to not respond to the beauties feelings towards him. It became even more complicated when his women recommended other women out of wanting to make him happy or thinking it was fate like Tia did as she kept recommending Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries to him.

Then again, he didnʼt want to disappoint his wives either. Their opinions came first above his own for many matters, including other women.

Nonetheless, he barely had time for family, much less time for disciples. He discarded the thought and gazed at Saintess Lunariaʼs back, wondering if he should forgive her already. She had done too much by bringing her disciples to save him. In essence, she revealed her groupʼs presence to the world, and she might be on the hit list soon enough. It was only a matter of time, so it would be quite grumpy of him to still hold some resentment over her previous actions.

More than anything, it had been embarrassing for him to accept her help after he insulted her character. At that execution time, he wouldʼve even borrowed the devilʼs help, so it didnʼt shake him, but now that he was free, the shame hit him. If her disciples knew that he insulted her so much, they might probably take him to a corner and beat him up.

Regardless, he didnʼt know how to repair the relationship without feeling extremely awkward.

Just before he could get a word out, he was already in front of an expanding path. It stretched into a giant cave, and he could feel life energy brimming within.

”Fenren… Soaren… Andiron…”

Davis uttered as he saw them sleeping in front of Shimeiʼs majestic fox figure while getting healed. On the other side, Renfa Jadelight was beside Fenren Jadelight, her eyes moist before she looked at Davis with shock.
