Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3919  Welcoming Him

Evelynn buried her face in his chest, her heart swelling with love and relief. As they embraced, she glanced up, her eyes sparkling as she wondered how she got so lucky to have him. The fact that he survived the onslaught of so many Empyreans and Autarchs, much less killed them, was alone enough to slash all her worries.

From then on, she only wondered if he would be back since he could go to other places and improve himself further, but he was back, always having her and the others in his heart.

She didnʼt want anything more than this, but she pouted.

”Mmm~ You canʼt slap my ass like that outside the room. As the first lady, I have a standing to maintain.”

Evelynn complained and hit his chest lightly, her cheeks blushing. It was also a bit painful, but that just went to say how powerful he had become after becoming an Immortal Emperor. She couldnʼt be anymore happier seeing him become overpowered once again.

This was the man she loved and adored, occasionally even worshiped.

”Does that mean I can slap it all I want in our room?” Davis raised his brows with a lewd smile.

Evelynn didnʼt say anything. Her lips curled into a soft smile, resting her head against him again as she wrapped her arms around him, savoring the peace he brought to her soul. She couldnʼt wait to sleep together, but the matter Shirley and Isabella brought up also irked her heart.

Thinking back, they were truly all over him, not giving others enough time, and because some other issue came up, he would have to seclude himself or leave, making it harder for others to be with him.

She really did consider Shirley and Isabellaʼs words and felt like she had to keep herself to higher standards in order to make this big family a reality. She could no longer freely engage with him as she liked, or the others would keep stepping back from respect until they could no longer care, either closing their heart or even falling out of love with him.

She felt like she couldnʼt allow that to happen.

Evelynn tiptoed and kissed him on his lips, only pecking a bit before she stepped back and bowed.

”Welcome back, husband~”

Shirley and Isabella blinked at Evelynn, suddenly becoming formal. They wondered if their words had some effect on her.

Davis had Shirley and Isabella on his sides, and their arms were still wrapped around his. He patted their waists, indicating for them to step aside before he kissed them on their foreheads.

”You two endured well without me. Iʼm sorry for leaving without saying anything.”

”…” Shirley pursed her lips, ”I know you wouldnʼt abandon your friends. In fact, it could be said weʼre more impressed that you were able to save them and even make it back here in one piece, not to mention cross the most difficult hurdle, which was to go through your heavenly tribulation without the others taking advantage of it.”

Her fingers traced his chest as she looked at him, her eyes full of affection.

”My Emperor, weʼre always proud of you, but this time, you exceeded yourself.” Isabella tiptoed and kissed his cheek, her gaze tender.

”…”

Davis couldnʼt help but feel the guilt in his heart lessened. They didnʼt blame him for leaving without saying anything. After surpassing himself, that was what he was worried about the most.

It was really a shitty move to leave the family and save his friends, even though it was the right thing to do. At times, important things mattered more than doing the right thing. Fortunately, this was not one of those times, as his family wasnʼt in immediate danger.

Otherwise, he wouldnʼt be able to forgive himself.

He took two steps back, stepping away from them before he cupped his hands. He looked at Evelynn, wondering why she was formal, but she looked so elegant and dignified. He loved it and reciprocated.

”Iʼm indeed back and ready to bree- Hehem~ I mean, ready to actually be a husband and… yes, a father. With the Celestial Transcendent out of the picture, as he took Clara to the Upper Realms as his new disciple, I think nothing here can stop us for the most part. Iʼm sure he would return, but I am confident I can quickly make my way to the Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Stage and show him that he canʼt possibly exterminate us.” Davis smirked with battle intent radiating out of him.

With all those soul essences he plundered, he believed that he could make his way to Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage faster than anyone. However, this would only apply to his Soul Forging Cultivation, but he felt that was enough.

The Celestial Transcendent? Just an avatar? There was no need to be afraid right now from his point of view.

He still had the black-white stone and Fallen Heaven, which gave him more leeway even if he couldnʼt rely on his own powers.

As for Clara, he was relieved that the Celestial Transcendent took her away and even accepted her as his disciple. Even though he didnʼt understand why he took Clara as his personal disciple and had his own thoughts on the matter, he could only imagine what kind of protection and influence that would give her, making him even happier than before.

He believed that the Celestial Transcendent would keep his words to him, and it appeared to be the case so far with how the news was erupting, making waves in every realm. The funny thing was— the public was of the opinion the Supreme One was going to use his own little sister to kill him and end a calamity, which meant taking responsibility for oneʼs family.

The common populace was even trying to make street plays out of this. He saw one while entering this Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm and couldnʼt help but laugh as he saw ʼClaraʼ drive a blade down the ʼDivine Emperor of Deathʼsʼ heart and utter that she was sorry that she had to do this for the good of the world.

Finally, he made his way to this place and was able to enter the mini-realm without a problem. After all, he reconnected with his avatar and knew where they settled.

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

At this moment, a few more people appeared from the entrance to the mini realm.

”Damn, is this a starry mini-realm?”

”No wonder you bragged that you had an entire realm to yourself.”

Fenren and Soaren appeared with Renfa Jadelight. Behind them, Andiron also appeared as he looked around. After them, a black-robed figure stepped out, catching the ladiesʼ attention. They didnʼt recognize her, wondering who she was, but their eyes abruptly widened as they vaguely remembered seeing her on the ninth step of the Stairway of Regression.

”Rokushi Mirai…”

Evelynn uttered.

Shirley and Isabella raised their brows at Davis. He brought another woman home again? Didnʼt he say he wouldnʼt and wanted to restrain himself? They didnʼt doubt his ability to restrain himself as they heard he didnʼt respond to a few women who were in love with him. Therefore, that begged the question of whether Rokushi Mirai was just that good.
