Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3917  Acceptance Of The Highest Order

”What do you say?”

The Celestial Transcendent prompted Clara, seeing that she had gone silent.

Clara came out of her reverie, her eyes blinking.

She understood even if she tried for it, she would never be able to become the Celestial Transcendentʼs personal disciple. She heard one of his disciples was the head or a grand elder of the Divine Sentinel Order. She wasnʼt sure, but it sure was a position that would make even Heavenʼs Warriors envious.

Yet, this kind of chance fell on her lap like it was some parting gift from her brother.

Was this because the Celestial Transcendent promised her big brother that he would protect her?

Since she was a Heavenʼs Warrior, Davis shared some secrets with her, and one of them was about how the Celestial Transcendent would descend in his tribulation. It was a secret that he shared with some of his wives, too.

So she knew her brother would battle the Celestial Transcendent, even praising him that he was a carefree person with a rare addition of integrity. She was intrigued back then, but now she can finally understand. However, she didnʼt know if her brother and the Celestial Transcendent were close enough to make promises to each other.

Perhaps it was a threat?

If it wasnʼt her brother who requested it, she didnʼt understand what was going on. There was also the factor of archnemesis or something the Celestial Transcendent stated that she couldnʼt understand, but she felt like it would eventually be revealed when the time came.

Clara pursed her lips, ”I will accept to become your personal disciple if you take me to the Upper Realms right now.”

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent raised one of his brows, closely looking at Clara. However, Claraʼs expression didnʼt change.

This made the Celestial Transcendent frown more, but Clara still didnʼt give in, maintaining an attitude of do or die.

”Fine, fine. You still think of your brother as he does with you. I can respect that and bring you to the Upper Realms first. However, donʼt think I wonʼt chase him and kill him. At that time, you canʼt bear your fangs against your master.”

”Youʼre incapable of defeating brother.” Clara looked away as she mumbled.

”Wah-” The Celestial Transcendent shook. He walked to her side and pointed right at her face, his expression full of shock.

”Did you just insult your master?”

Clara looked the other way, not responding.

”Good! Good, very good!”

The Celestial Transcendent fumed, ”What a feisty little girl. Both the heavens and your brother have spoiled you, making you arrogant. I will make sure to nurture you so that arrogance can become pure ability.”

He waved his hand and turned around, appearing like he was offended.

However, when he turned around, he saw Clara on her knees, kowtowing to him three times.

”Master.”

Clara lifted her head up and uttered, ”Is that all the ritual?”

”Thatʼs enough for me.”

The Celestial Transcendent turned towards her and helped her up with a light smile, ”You are destined for more if nothing changes. I cannot say more than I said, but I hope you will not end up killing me in the future, whether it is for your brother or something else.”

”Iʼll try not to.”

Clara nodded.

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent blinked. He sighed as he let go, ”My first son is also like this, a difficult nut to crack. Your Transcendent Truth Eyes Physique masters rarely smile or show emotions, even in your voice, unless your composure is broken. I hate it.”

He walked towards the window and looked out, his gaze profound and his back showing a hint of melancholy.

Claraʼs gaze flickered, ”Do you hate the heavens, Master?”

”No, never. I got here by myself. If I have anyone to blame, it is myself.”

The Celestial Transcendent shook his head before he turned to look at Clara.

”…” He went speechless as he saw her removing her veil and smiling lightly at him.

His jaw almost dropped before he couldnʼt help but chuckle, ”Hoho. My first female discipleʼs smile is so beautiful, and the smile is not even forced, unlike the other Transcendent Truth Eyes owners. It seems like I have to cut some slack and let go of the Divine Emperor of Death temporarily for nurturing and protecting such a beautiful pearl all this long.”

Claraʼs smile deepened.

For some reason, she felt secure with this person. It was almost like she was talking with her big brother, who liked to fool around with his words. Because she saw her brother in him, she didnʼt want to him to be offended, especially after she chose to accept him as her master.

The Celestial Transcendent saw that Clara was different than his son or the other Transcendent Truth Eyes masters. There were more genuine emotions from her than fake or forced ones. Perhaps that is why the heavens decided to gift her the Celestial Seed.

He could see that she was special.

However, his expression turned awkward. He looked as though he was pondering his words before opening his mouth.

”I havenʼt taken a female disciple out of respect for my wife, but Iʼm breaking this rule for the first time in billions of years, so she might have her thoughts on it. If you meet her, just tell her youʼre going to kill me in the future, and that should disperse the suspicions.”

”…”

Clara blinked. Wouldnʼt that just make the wife want to kill her instead?

”Is Masterʼs wife also powerful?” She couldnʼt help but ask.

”Very powerful. She is as powerful as me without adding heavenʼs influence, and she is a fox with a Grand Ancestral Bloodline. She was once a Nine Lives Gracious Fox, you know.” The Celestial Transcendent proudly uttered.

”…” Claraʼs eyes widened.

The Celestial Transcendentʼs wife was a Nine Lives Gracious Fox back then, but now, she possesses a Grand Ancestral Bloodline? How was she supposed to know what it was or where it was in the rankings?

”What is a Grand Ancestral Bloodline?”

”Itʼs just what comes after the Great Saint Bloodline. Oh, in your terms, that is Saint Magical Beasts, Great Saint Magical Beasts, Grand Ancestral Magical Beasts, and Paragon Magical Beasts. Above that are the Mythical Paragon Magical Beasts that were supposed to point to the original Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts that were born from the primordial essence of the universe. It is said they were extremely powerful, enough to end Upper Realms in a single strike.”

”…!” Claraʼs pupils dilated.

She looked at her master, wondering why he didnʼt keep anything from her, and said many things that were going to give her karmic burden. However, little did she know that the Celestial Seed negated all, if not most, karmic burden.

The Celestial Transcendent saw that she was shaken and couldnʼt help but nod with satisfaction.

”Come with me. You have much more to learn, that youʼll leave all your peers in the dust in a few years. You will most likely surpass your brother.”

He waved his hand and walked past her coolly, leaving Clara shocked. She couldnʼt believe he would say that even after he experienced Davisʼs prowess for himself in the tribulation.

Meanwhile, Xiaolan blinked.

Why was her hearing sealed? What did they talk about? She felt left out and rammed straight into the Celestial Transcendentʼs head and pecked him.

”Ahh!”
