Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3914  Clash Between Transcendent Truth Eyes

The moment Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs voice fell, Claraʼs breath caught in her throat. His voice reverberated through the chamber, each word laced with an undeniable weight. The air around her thickened, and the pressure weighed on her soul like a mountain suddenly appeared on top of it, her Will threatening to bend under the force.

Her mind buzzed, and for a moment, everything blurred as she looked at Autarch Elluro Coldwing.

She felt a foreign yet familiar force slither into her sea of consciousness, twisting and tugging her Will. Its force—authoritative, cold, and relentless— pressed against her Will. It wrapped around her like chains tightening, compelling her to speak.

She gasped, her fingers trembling as her lips involuntarily parted. Words she never wanted to utter began gathering at the tip of her tongue.

”The Divine Emperor of Death is-”

ʼNo!ʼ

The thought was faint, almost imperceptible, flickering through the void away from her like a distant flame.

Clara clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms as she fought against this foreign compulsion. She could feel her own soulʼs essence warping under the weight of the command. The ebbing of the influence was compulsive and relentless, continuously wanting her to respond to the command.

Her lips trembled, moving of their own accord.

”-in the Eternal-”

ʼStop!ʼ

Claraʼs voice wavered while she inwardly screamed, barely stopping herself from saying the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm where the Void Dust Sanctuary exists. That was the only place she knew Davis could possibly return. The rest would be that he was making his way to the Azure Tree Lower Realm in order to find a place to settle, but other than that, she didnʼt know where he truly was.

She clenched her teeth so hard that she was bleeding from her gums. At the same time, she sensed the chains around her consciousness falter, even if it were only for a moment. Clara caught that like a hawk, biting back the words as she clawed for control.

ʼI wonʼt give in…!ʼ

Sweat ran down her forehead. She struggled against the compulsion with every fiber of her being and every strand of her soul. Her mind blurred greatly, feeling like she was going to faint with everything torn apart if she didnʼt answer, but she couldnʼt yield.

She absolutely couldnʼt yield or risk endangering every one of her loved ones!

Blood leaked from her lips as she raised her head and glared at Autarch Elluro Coldwing.

”I… wonʼt… tell you… anything…”

Claraʼs voice was strained; it was barely a whisper, but it was enough.

Suddenly, Clara found the pressure that had almost crushed her seemed to ebb away ever so lightly. Her body shook from exhaustion, but she maintained her stand, her eyes wide as she locked her gaze onto Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs, both their gazes tinged with bright purple.

”…”

Empyrean Miller Skyrend was ostensibly shocked beyond compare as he saw Clara resist Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs Mandate.

ʼThat shouldnʼt be possible…!ʼ He inwardly screamed.

Considering the difference in cultivation base between them, in addition to prowess, this definitely shouldnʼt be possible.

He also saw Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs eyes also flicker with a hint of surprise. The latter opened his mouth.

”You said Eternal? Do you mean the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm? My forces are still there, hoping he would arrive as the Mystic Diviners predicted. Has he established a base there?”

”Reveal if the Divine Emperor would go back to the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm or not!”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing commanded. This time, he made the question more specific so it would be difficult to defend against. He expectantly waited for the answer but couldnʼt help but go silent as he saw Clara remain silent.

Her lips trembled, but nothing came out as though she had already learned how to counter him. He didnʼt know if such a thing was even possible when there was a wide difference between the cultivation bases. The only plausible explanation was that the heavens were helping her, but he refused to believe that the heavens would help a Heavenʼs Warrior who wasnʼt helping get rid of an Anarchic Divergent, so he came to the conclusion that she was also in possession of a treasure, perhaps a soul treasure that disallowed external influences from forcing her consciousness.

”Hmph! You leave me no choice.”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing extended his hand, his palm heading toward her forehead.

”Donʼt!”

Empyrean Miller Skyrend yelled out, but his words fell on deaf ears as Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs palm grasped Claraʼs head like a talon snatching onto prey. He lifted her up from the bed with one hand, looking directly into her arrogant and defiant eyes.

”Last chance. Either you tell me, or you get soulscoured.”

At the same time, Autarch Elluro Coldwing sent an investigative soul sense into her soul sea to find if she really had a defensive treasure. However, his search came out empty, causing his expression to finally break as he realized this woman couldʼve just resisted his mandate through her own Will.

”Do it. I donʼt care.”

Claraʼs defiant voice echoed out. She was intent on collapsing her soul with her Will if she was soulscoured. That way, nearly nothing can be obtained from her.

”Die!”

Xiaolan attacked at this moment, her sharp beak trying to pierce through Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs head. She sneak-attacked from Claraʼs sleeve.

However, he merely waved his hand, sending Xiaolan flying as blood spurted from her entire being as though she was squashed into a meat paste. Only after he did that did his expression twitch, knowing he couldʼve demanded answers from this bird instead, but no one briefed him about its existence.

Empyrean Miller Skyrend also didnʼt say anything, causing Autarch Elluro Coldwing to cast a glance at him before he returned his gaze to Clara.

”You will not have a good death~”

Clara spat out through her teeth, sprinkles of blood flowing out of her mouth. She barely glanced at Xiaolanʼs figure, knowing one of her wings was crushed and half of her body mangled. She twitched on the ground, appearing to lose a lot of blood as it flowed down the room like it was going to form a huge lake eventually.

”We will see about that…”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing coldly replied before he activated his soulscour technique.

However, his soul technique couldnʼt make it past the first layer of defense for the soul sea, the freaking skull, no even before that, the thin layer of flesh.

”What!?”

He hurriedly retreated as he suddenly found that he wasnʼt holding Clara but a man.

ʼSpatial displacement…!ʼ

His battle instincts inwardly screamed what kind of technique was used, but his ability to perceive belatedly told him that this person was none other than the-

”Oʼ Supreme One!”

Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs soul chilled.

It was none other than the Celestial Transcendent!

He disrespectfully held the other partyʼs head. The ridiculous thing was his perception didnʼt even register the exchange of the bodies until a second later. Turning to look back, he saw that Clara was near the entrance of the room, plopped down weakly, yet her gaze was looking at him angrily.

This meant that the Celestial Transcendent had just appeared before he displaced himself with Clara.

”Thatʼs enough.”

The Celestial Transcendent combed his white hair with his hand to restore his hairstyle before standing up.

”Elluro Coldwing. I told you to hunt the Divine Emperor of Death. What are you doing here torturing his little sister?”

He sighed, rubbing on his forehead as he closed his eyes.

Autarch Elluro Coldwing instantly cupped his hands and bowed deeply.

”Reporting to the Supreme One! Clara Alstreim has been uncooperative and wouldnʼt reveal the location of her brother even though she knows it. As a reason, she states that harm would befall her family, but when it comes to the universe, we Heavenʼs Warriors know we must prioritize the universe over our families, so in accordance with the teachings and the lack of time, I wanted to soulscour her in order to track the Divine Emperor of Death before he could fully escape our grasp.”

”Is that so? Leave her to me. You go search for the Divine Emperor of Death through your own strength.”

”Supreme One…”

”Do you not understand?” The Celestial Transcendent frowned.

”Yes!”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing shuddered before he responded. He cupped his hands again before he left, not even looking at Clara, whom he passed by near the entrance.

”Then I…” Empyrean Miller Skyrend was also about to leave. He walked towards Xiaolan to take her away.

”Leave her too.”

However, the Celestial Transcendent said otherwise, causing him to shudder before he lowered his head and left. Neither he nor Autarch Elluro Coldwing had the face to meet his gaze after failing to kill the Divine Emperor of Death. The latter had even said he would not show his face to the Celestial Transcendent again until he killed the Divine Emperor of Death, but the reality was different.
