I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 997, Deified Items

Translator: Silavin

Qing Yan and the others had already advanced for many days in the dense primitive forest, during which they had also encountered quite a few Ferocious Beasts one after another.

But relying on his clever guidance, the Warriors’ strength, and the healing from the Shaman Bone Tablets, they had all successfully overcome the dangers here.

Fortunately, they had now been away from the Tribe for about ten days, and not a single Warrior had been seriously injured.

However, the food they carried with them had almost been eaten clean. When they had just left the Tribe, the food they ate was plentiful.

After some days passed, they had to hunt themselves and roast food outdoors in the wild.

However, fortunately the ingredients they carried with them were fresh, so they could directly chop them up and add them to be boiled.

They also had sealed salt, so the flavour of their cooked food was not too bad overall.

Moreover, the forest was full of sour berries and plump mushrooms everywhere. If carefully cooked, it could also count as a delicious meal.

In any case, no matter what, it would taste better than what they had eaten before. Seasonings were like divine existence. These were items also deified by the Warriors.

“Hurry and finish eating. We still need to continue searching for the location of ores. We don’t have much time left, we’ve already been out for such a long time.”

Qing Yan boldly drank a large mouthful of meat soup, instantly revealing an extremely satisfied expression.

Right now, the whole group was inside a cave, all sitting around the campfire eating lunch.

This was also unavoidable. It was constantly raining outside, and rain would hinder the campfire.

“Team Leader, which direction should we go next? I think we should split up, otherwise we’ll have to search for a long time again.” Qing Mu asked.

He did not feel tired, just felt that time was precious and should be properly utilised.

“Yes, our efficiency won’t be very high if we gather together to search for things together. I also think it would be better to split up and search.” Chi Tu also chimed in.

The main issue was that eleven people searching for the same thing together was truly inefficient. If they could split into three teams, it would be much faster.

“No, you’re not unaware of the dangers in the forest. With the slightest error, we’ll be done for.”

Qing Yan put down his wooden bowl, his blue eyes full of firmness. Everything could be discussed, except this matter.

There was no other reason than because there had been similar incidents before, when Warriors split up to hunt.

In the very early days of the Flame Dragon Tribe, everyone split into several teams to go out for the sake of higher efficiency. The result was predictable… Warrior casualties were extremely severe.

In the end, not many Warriors came back alive, and they were also injured.

The primitive forest was far more dangerous than the Warriors imagined. The slightest mishap would cost them their lives there.

“The reason we all need to gather together to search for the ore the Shaman wants is for safety, and also for us Warriors to cooperate with each other.”

Qing Yan did not wait for the Warriors to speak and continued, “Each of you is very important to the Flame Dragon Tribe. The Shaman also told me to ensure your safety, so follow my orders.”

He of course knew this was very time consuming, and also knew that splitting up would be more efficient, but he dares not take the risk.

The Rain Panther that appeared a few days ago was the best explanation. If the number of Warriors at that time had been fewer, or if they had been separated, they would have likely faced certain death.

“Understood. Since that’s the case, we can only hurry and search for the ores.” Qing Mu nodded understandingly.

He had just carefully thought it over, and it was indeed the case. The reason they could escape danger the previous times was largely because there were teammates beside them.

“Team Leader, I have a different idea.” Chi Tu said very seriously.

“Let’s hear it.” The reason Qing Yan could receive everyone’s respect was also because he respected others.

Many times, he would listen to others’ opinions, not suppressing others just because of his status.

“Previously when we split into several teams, incidents easily occurred, mainly because our weapons were not very good, and we also didn’t have Shaman Bone Tablets at that time.” Chi Tu’s expression was very serious. “But we’re different now. The weapons we use now are countless times better than before. We can definitely confront those Ferocious Beasts now.”

Although he also remembered the previous experience warnings from Warriors, everything was changing, was it not? The weapons the Warriors now held in their hands had never existed before, nor had they dared to imagine them. If the Warriors of that time could have possessed these weapons, couldn’t many incidents have been avoided?

“…” Qing Yan fell into thought after hearing this, feeling what the others said indeed made sense.

He also thought about how he was always insisting on the old thinking from before. Being cautious was certainly good, but one could not be too overly cautious either.

‘They say those who accomplish great things did not fuss over minor details.’ Qing Yan thought of what Su Bai had said.

At that time, this phrase just meant not to be too fixated, but Qing Yan had deeply remembered it.

“Team Leader, we now have eleven people. We can just split into three groups total. Wouldn’t the search efficiency be higher this way?”

Chi Tu looked at the drizzling rain constantly falling outside the cave entrance. “We’ll just use this cave as the gathering base. We can return when it gets dark.”

“I also think so. If we advance together, we can only go in one direction. That would be too wasteful, and the probability of finding any ore isn’t high either.”

Qing Mu nodded thoughtfully. “Following what Chi Tu said, we split into three teams and advanced in three directions. The probability of finding ores would be much higher.”

“What you say isn’t without reason. I think we can try it. People always need to challenge themselves.” Qing Yan thought seriously.

“Don’t worry. We’ll definitely protect ourselves well. We’re no longer the Warriors we used to be.” Qing Mu instantly became serious.

He was truly very grateful for the Shaman’s appearance, which had revived him personally and even the entire Tribe, as if obtaining new life.

“How about this: Qing Mu, Chi Tu, I’ll team up with you two. The remaining four people will form a team. This way it’s also easier to support each other.” Qing Yan instructed.

After all, the numbers could not be distributed perfectly evenly. One of the teams could only have three people.

He definitely needed to lead the smaller ground.

“No problem. We also shouldn’t go too far.” Qing Mu agreed immediately.

“All of you must pay attention. If you encounter danger, send a signal flare at the first opportunity, understand?” Qing Yan said sternly.

Signal flares were also made with gunpowder, except some plant-extracted pigments were added inside, so when fired into the sky there would be a coloured explosion.

“We understand.” All the Warriors said in unison.
