I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 978, A Wake-Up Call

Sha Lan’s momentum was also extremely strong. In an instant, she activated her Totem Power and ran towards the River Bear.

She gripped the battle axe with one hand. The other foot pushed forcefully, and instantly her entire person became airborne.

Her other hand immediately gripped the battle axe, viciously chopping towards the River Bear’s shoulder.

Because the River Bear had just received a wake-up call from Yan Hua, and the whip’s power was indeed extremely formidable, it was currently still in a dazed state.

By the time it reacted and wanted to defend, it was already too late. Sha Lan had already descended with her weapon to hack and slash.

*Aoowuuu…*

The River Bear instantly shrieked. Blood also burst forth from its shoulder, and it collapsed painfully to the ground.

However, this was not yet finished. Qing Mu and Chi Tu, the two of them, also held weapons in their hands: a spear and a crescent moon blade respectively.

That was right, it was Guan Yu’s Green Dragon Crescent Moon Blade. However, Su Bai had made slight modifications on the blueprint.

It had been transformed into the Flame Dragon Tribe’s Flame Dragon Crescent Moon Blade. Its sharpness could be seen at a glance.

The River Bear had originally been roaring in pain. Seeing two Totem Warriors charging towards it again, it instinctively wanted to stand up and resist. But due to the pain in its shoulder and the dizziness in its head, its movements began to slow.

Qing Mu and Chi Tu also sensed the other’s intention to resist and did not want to give the River Bear any chance at all.

After activating their Totem Power, their movement speed became even faster.

Qing Mu raised the spear with one hand, as if to throw a javelin. After gathering strength for a moment, he threw the spear out.

*Aoowuuu…*

The River Bear instantly let out an intense shriek. There was no other reason than the spear struck right in the centre of its forehead.

Chi Tu would not give the other party a chance to catch its breath. In an instant, he charged forward holding the Flame Dragon Crescent Moon Blade.

He rotated the Flame Dragon Crescent Moon Blade in a circle with his right hand, gathered strength, and began chopping down from the middle of the River Bear’s head.

Before the River Bear could even let out a shriek, it was instantly cleaved in two. Blood immediately stained the entire area of ground.

But because it was raining continuously, that bloodstain did not remain on the ground for long. Very quickly, it was washed by the rainwater into the river.

“Shaman, the weapons you invented are truly too useful.” Yan Jiao instantly felt extremely excited.

These weapons had been developed some time ago, but they had already abolished the Hunting Team.

A new Hunting Team was currently being assembled, and they could only enter the forest next year. Therefore, these weapons had never been properly tested. The arrival of the rainy season just happened to be the best testing opportunity.

This was also the first time the Totem Warriors had used these weapons in actual combat. The effect truly exceeded imagination.

“But, there is still room for improvement. After we return, I will redraw a set of blueprints. You keep an eye on it.” Su Bai said lightly.

Although the power unleashed by these cold weapons was indeed quite good, they also had relative shortcomings.

For instance, the whip in Yan Hua’s hands at the beginning only achieved an armour-breaking effect. Its true lethality was not particularly great.

Therefore, Su Bai was thinking if some protruding spikes were added to the edges, wouldn’t it have both an armour-breaking effect and deal more damage?

There was also the battle axe. Although it was very handy in Sha Lan’s hands, the attack range was a bit small. If adjustments were made to the blade’s surface area, wouldn’t the effect be even better?

Su Bai thought of many such things. However, all of these required experimentation. Therefore, the improvements had to be completed before the rainy season ended.

“Everything follows the Shaman’s arrangements.” Yan Jiao responded earnestly.

“Collect all the Ferocious Beast’s hide, meat, and bones. The bones can be studied to make into weapons. As for the hide, it can be made into Animal Hides in preparation for the snow season.”

Su Bai glanced at the corpse, then looked towards the surging river. Clearly, more Ferocious Beasts were coming up.

“Understood.” After Yan Jiao finished answering, he immediately threw himself into the command.

Ferocious Beasts continuously emerged from the river. The Totem Warriors had no time to relax. Otherwise, if these Ferocious Beasts began to roar, the people in the Tribe would suffer again.

Su Bai stood in the rain for over an hour, witnessing the performance of various weapons in actual combat.

There were several weapons he found satisfactory: the Tang Sword, for instance. However, the quality was not very good.

In just over an hour, seven or eight Tang Swords had already broken. Clearly, weapons made from iron ore still did not have very great lethality against Ferocious Beasts.

“Shaman, should we take those broken weapons back?” Ye Jiu looked at the scattered blade fragments on the ground.

Ye Jiu naturally knew that iron ore was not easy to find. She was thinking that those blade fragments could still be taken back for smelting.

“En. Let’s go back.” Su Bai turned to leave.

He had to hurry back to draw out the ideas he had thought of now. Recently was the best testing opportunity.

“Yes.” Ye Jiu hurriedly held the umbrella and followed behind.

“Shaman, there truly is no accumulated water in the Tribe.” Yu Ying looked around at the ground in surprise.

Yu Ying had specifically worn a pair of rain boots today. These rain boots were the ones Su Bai had obtained from the System.

Both the size and colour were extremely suitable for Yu Ying, so they naturally became hers.

*Pitter patter…*

The rain kept falling with a splashing sound, but the rainwater had not been continuously accumulating in the Tribe.

The continuously falling rainwater also had not been constantly washing mud into the river. This was all thanks to the Tribe’s drainage system.

Long before the rainy season arrived, Su Bai had already drawn out a drainage system as well as a sewerage system.

He had instructed the Totem Warriors to complete these in a short time. Therefore, manhole covers could now be seen everywhere in the Tribe.

Because most of the Tribe’s surface area was now covered with cement, rainwater falling on it could very easily flow into the sewers.

Of course, inside the sewers there was also cement laid down. Otherwise, with all the rainwater flowing inside, the soil would become extremely soft, leading to collapse incidents.

The sewers’ final flow direction was the large river. Therefore, rainwater continuously falling in the Tribe would ultimately flow into the sewers, then be uniformly discharged into the river.

“Isn’t this much better than before?” Su Bai smiled slightly.

He had also seen the Tribe’s transformation. This feeling was quite good.

After all, in the past, whenever the rainy season arrived, it was a disaster for the Tribe. Everywhere was muddy and potholed, and accumulated water was even more commonplace.

Once the rainy season arrives, everyone would not want to go out. Going out meant getting dirty all over, and if one was not careful, one would sink into mud pits.

“It’s simply much better.” Yu Ying responded without hesitation.

Now one could see people coming out intermittently in the Tribe. They no longer had to worry about stepping into soft, rotten mud.
