I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 956, New Fruit

“Shaman, what is drawing here? Everything seems so beautiful.” Co Co was extremely surprised.

Co Co had never encountered such illustrations, particularly Su Bai’s specially designed currency illustrations.

Each denomination’s currency pattern differed, with detailed annotations alongside, providing immediate clarity.

What most astonished Co Co was the colouring. Correct, Su Bai had added colour.

The currency patterns on the drawings were all coloured. Red, purple, blue, green and others intermingled. Each denomination’s currency possessed different colouring, each having a primary colour tone supplemented by auxiliary colours. They appeared like artworks.

Naturally, for people of the primitive era, these were no different from artworks. For Su Bai, they remained somewhat unsatisfactory though.

After all, every Earth nation’s currency was excellently crafted. Setting aside sophistication, quality alone was exceptional.

Incidentally, the coloured pencils were also obtained from System check-in rewards. An entire container of markers possessed dozens of colours.

When Su Bai received these markers, he was genuinely delighted. They resolved an urgent necessity.

In the primitive era, finding tools to colour paper was genuinely impossible.

Particularly when certain drawings required certain colours he wished to represent. In that case, coloured pencils became urgently needed.

“These are currency notes. In future, they will become a circulating currency throughout our Tribe and across this continent.” Su Bai smiled faintly.

“Circulating currency? What are currency notes? I have never heard of such things.” Co Co’s golden eyes widened in surprise.

Co Co was immediately bewildered. Too many concepts flooded her mind. She had never heard of the term ‘currency notes’.

“They can replace labour value, which are…” Su Bai then proceeded to explain… “These are tangible, touchable items. Eventually, every Tribe will soon use them.”

Su Bai explained calmly. “Right now, to encourage everyone to use them, I‘ve devised several things. But, the prerequisite is manufacturing these items. I can’t do much if we can’t make a single note.”

However distant future considerations might be, the present priority remained producing the actual product.

“Shaman, what do you want me to do? I do love these currency notes and the drawings inside. Once manufactured, they will certainly appear even more beautiful.” Co Co’s gaze never left the drawings, saying excitedly. “If I can assist in anything, I shall diligently do so.”

She desperately wanted to materialise the drawings’ contents. Merely imagining this was exciting enough.

“This is precisely why I asked you to return. Manufacturing currency notes requires addressing two crucial aspects: anti-counterfeiting measures and material selection. I require your assistance with both.” Su Bai spoke directly.

He was not an expert in this field. Possessing concepts without practical skills. It was indeed somewhat challenging.

Co Co differed. Her practical capabilities were formidable, though she lacked the conceptual frameworks. Therefore, working together, they solved each other’s problems.

“I understand. If the Shaman gives me the right direction, you will definitely see my research bear bruits.” Co Co immediately responded.

Co Co desperately wanted to start researching now.

“No worries. I have already arranged for materials for you to experiment with. Tomorrow, they will arrive. For today, just rest properly. Tomorrow is when you shall start with your research.” Su Bai smiled faintly, continuing. “Also, if anything is unclear, consult me. Do not question things alone, understood?”

“Understood. I shall work hard.” Co Co immediately felt fully motivated.

“First eat something. After all, work begins tomorrow.” Yu Ying emerged from the kitchen carrying small desserts.

Co Co rubbed her small hands in anticipation, asking curiously. “I wonder what Xiao Yu has prepared today?”

Co Co had not consumed Yu Ying’s cooking for quite some time. She genuinely missed it.

Previously at the laboratory, she had consistently received Yu Ying’s care. Specifically, while conducting daily laboratory experiments, Yu Ying would deliver three daily meals, sometimes including small beverages and desserts.

“Today, it is something you have never tried. The Shaman calls it nougat. I love it so much.” Yu Ying appeared extremely happy.

“Nougat? Truly an odd name. What does it look like?” Co Co asked curiously, approaching.

“Try it and you will know. It is so delicious.” Yu Ying’s pink fox tail swished continuously with happiness.

Previously, Su Bai had received some nougat from System check-in rewards, casually distributing it to the girls.

He had not consumed nougat for some time. The girls all loved it, so he taught Yu Ying how to make them.

However, the most crucial ingredient was unavailable, which were crispy, crunchy peanuts.

Nevertheless, alternatives existed. What did the primitive forest lack? It possessed abundant fruits.

They discovered a nut in the forest resembling pistachios, though a lot larger.

After roasting, it became even crispier, sometimes superior to peanuts.

After discovering this fruit, Su Bai did not bother inventing names. He simply called them pistachios. Convenient and memorable.

Currently, ‘pistachios’ have become extremely popular throughout the Tribe. They could be roasted with added salt, producing a delicious savoury flavour. Alternatively, they could be added to stewed meat as accompaniments, functioning as seasoning. Otherwise, they could be ground into powder for use as barbecue dipping sauce.

Regardless, everyone proved remarkably clever. Naturally, this occurred after Su Bai’s arrival, and they learned from the barbecue shop.

The barbecue shop offered various dipping sauces. Those people imitated these preparations.

“Eating this is very crispy. What is this fragrant flavour?” Co Co felt her taste buds exploding.

The nougat’s fragrance and milk flavour were intense. Although not resembling meat flavours, this taste captivated her completely.

“This is pistachio flavour combined with milk. Is it not delicious? If you like it, eat more.” Yu Ying passed portioned nougat and hot tea to Su Bai, herself taking a piece to eat.

“Amazing. Having Xiao Yu here is truly amazing.” Co Co smiled happily.

“No, no, no. These are all taught by the Shaman. I could never conceive such things myself.” Yu Ying shook her head repeatedly.

Su Bai remained silent, quietly observing the girls’ conversation. This scene truly should be appreciated.

“Genuinely delicious.” Co Co continued praising effusively.

“If you like it, I can prepare more. If we store them properly, it preserves for quite a long time. I shall prepare some for you to bring back to the Sea Fish Tribe.” Yu Ying immediately offered.

“Xiao Yu, thank you so much. Also, thank you, Shaman.” Co Co smiled gently, taking another piece of nougat to consume.
