I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 975, The Student Surpasses the Master

*Splash splash…*

Rain continuously fell from the sky. The rainy season had arrived.

Each Tribe was beginning to deal with the rainy season’s arrival, though none of them were like the Flame Dragon Tribe.

None could be as composed as the Flame Dragon Tribe. Everyone in the Tribe were relaxed and at ease.

The school and workshops within the Flame Dragon Tribe were all operating as usual, not disrupted in the slightest by the rainy season’s arrival. On the contrary, everyone felt very secure. For no other reason than everyone was staying inside rooms, and moreover, they had work to keep them occupied.

And with three meals provided daily, not having to worry about food at all, everyone naturally felt very secure.

Su Bai stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his black eyes gazing outside, his mood still quite good.

“Shaman, the Warrior Trainees have all prepared for their trials. They’ll be participating in the trials over the next few days.” Yan Hua said seriously.

Since becoming a Totem Warrior, Yan Hua’s burden had increased considerably. Every rainy season had Warrior Trainees participating in trials; training in the rain meant spear training.

Spear training focused on accuracy. Besides this, there was another item added last year which was shooting in the rain.

Using the longbow in the rain was no easy matter. If they were too weak, arrows shot would easily be knocked off course by the rainwater.

Moreover, the continuous drizzling raindrops forming a vast curtain of rain greatly confused one’s vision. Without precise sensing ability and judgement, this training was very prone to errors.

Of course, longbow training in the rain had been added last year, and Yan Hua and the others had emerged from this training.

Clearly, last year’s training results had been well demonstrated in the Totem Awakening Ceremony.

For no other reason than an extremely large number of Totem Warriors had awakened.

This was related to everyone’s diet, rest, and daily training.

“They’re newly awakened Warrior Trainees. They definitely won’t be able to endure hardship at the start of training. You must remember to keep a close eye on them.” Su Bai’s black eyes still gazed at the rain outside the window. “As for those who can’t persist. Just directly eliminate them from continuing training.”

With the Tribe’s rapid development, he no longer needed fragile people or those who could not endure hardship.

In this cruel primitive era, if one could not endure hardship, there was no way to grow into a true Warrior.

“I understand, Shaman. Those Warriors are all very conscientious, knowing that awakening comes with difficulty. None will dare slack off.” Yan Hua nodded.

Yan Hua had initially thought these Warriors had lived a good life for a while and might not be able to adapt to such high-intensity work all at once.

Of course, their lives had only changed after Su Bai’s arrival. Although the time had not been long, it could still be considered having lived well for a period.

“I’ll need you and Ah’Lan to keep a close eye on this group of people. The Tribe’s future rests entirely on them.” Su Bai said extremely seriously.

This was how it was in the primitive era. It was all about speaking through strength. If they were not strong enough, they would easily be devoured by other Tribes.

What Su Bai wanted was to develop a city in the primitive era. Since he wanted to develop a city, they needed to be strong enough to protect it.

Otherwise, before they could leisurely farm and develop, their Tribe would already have been completely conquered by another Tribe.

Although he could rely on Earth’s wisdom to continuously invent comparatively advantageous cold weapons. Or even completely crushing hot weapons, this ultimately required a very, very long time to perfect.

Current explosives, due to material limitations, could not be mass-produced on a large scale.

Moreover, those explosives were mainly to deal with Ferocious Beasts and the coming eternal night. As for people from other Tribes, unless they could set up an ambush prior, they still had to rely on Warriors and cold weapons.

Although cold weapons could also be used by ordinary people and even used better, if these weapons were in the hands of Warriors, wouldn’t they be able to display even greater value?

Totem Warriors, whether in reaction speed or Stamina, were far superior to ordinary people. Weapons in their hands could unleash even greater might.

“I understand completely. Following the Shaman’s upgraded training methods, their capabilities will definitely increase tremendously after this rainy season.” Yan Hua said with particular certainty.

This year’s rainy season training was even more formidable than previous years. Or rather, it was even more rigorous.

In previous years, Warriors’ hands and feet had been unrestricted, because training in the rain was already very arduous.

So, the Warriors did not carry any weight. At most, they would carry an Animal Hide Bag with some weapons inside.

But this year was different. Su Bai had specifically had the workshops create many weight-bearing bags.

These weight-bearing bags had to be strapped to hands, feet and waist, and the weight was considerable.

The purpose was to train the Warriors’ willpower and physical fitness. Such a brutal training method could only be found in the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Su Bai’s thinking was that when the Warriors finished training and removed the weights from their bodies, their movements would become as light as swallows.

He did not believe that Warriors trained this way would be inferior to those of other Tribes; especially with advanced cold weapons to boot.

“For fairness’ sake, you’ll also have to carry weights. Consider it your daily training.” Su Bai rubbed her head.

Of course he was unwilling to let the girls suffer, but they were Totem Warriors. This could not be helped. Moreover, they themselves were willing to do it. As Totem Warriors, they naturally hoped to become stronger.

“Shaman, you don’t need to say that. Even if you hadn’t mentioned it, we would have put on weight-bearing bags ourselves,” Yan Hua laughed heartily.

Yan Hua had originally wanted to secretly wear weight-bearing bags, thinking this was just the right opportunity to train herself properly.

Otherwise, if those Warriors surpassed her in capability after this year’s rainy season training, wouldn’t that be extremely embarrassing?

Yan Hua absolutely did not want to be overtaken by the newcomers. She gave her all in every training session.

Seeing this, even the veteran Totem Warriors could not help but sigh in admiration and praise her profusely.

“That’s right, Shaman. Those newcomers will definitely feel extremely exhausted afterwards. If we Warriors set a good example, they definitely won’t dare complain.”

Sha Lan flicked her cat tail. “Moreover, this is also the best moment to improve our capabilities. Shaman, don’t worry about us.”

Sha Lan felt warmth in her heart, especially seeing Su Bai’s slightly furrowed brow.

To receive such concern from the Shaman… She couldn’t be happier, especially since she already liked the Shaman to begin with.

“We will show everyone how strong we are after the rainy season ends.” Su Bai’s lips curved slightly upward.

He was not stupid. He understood the principle that ‘fragrance attracts butterflies and tall trees attract wind’. Many Tribes were definitely eyeing the Flame Dragon Tribe with envy now, probably discussing various matters.

“Yes,” both Yan Hua and Sha Lan responded in unison.
