I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 963, Differential Treatment

“That’s right. Don’t you know what you’re good at? For instance, making linen, crafting things and such.” The person writing flipped through the registration forms and discovered that what the previous people knew were some crafting tasks.

Qi La thought earnestly for quite a while, then said softly. “I don’t know if embroidering some patterns on Animal Hides counts?”

The tiger eared girl recalled that when she was at the Giant Elephant Tribe, someone had taught her to do this.

Animal Hides normally looked like a single monotonous colour with nothing on them. For girls who loved beauty, those monotonous Animal Hides seemed very dull.

Everyone liked having more patterns on the Animal Hides they wore, or some decorations and such.

Of course, this was just the struggles of lower-class people. Those with enough power directly wore clothes made from linen.

As for Animal Hides, those were only worn when the snow season arrived.

“Embroidering some patterns on Animal Hides? For instance?” The person asked. She did not understand what embroidering patterns on Animal Hides meant. There was no concept of it in her mind.

“Yes. For instance, the dress I’m wearing. This small pattern on this side was embroidered by me.” Qi La generously showed the female registrar the pattern on the dress. The pattern was on the left side of the Animal Hide dress.

It was a simple flower pattern, embroidered using some red, fine plant root fibres. It must be said, although it did not look particularly exquisite, it made this Animal Hide dress considerably more attractive.

“It’s quite pretty. You embroidered this yourself?” She had never seen such things before. Her entire attention and curiosity were attracted by the pattern on the Animal Hide dress.

“Yes.” Qi La nodded without hesitation.

Seeing the other party’s surprised expression, she guessed with high probability that this was indeed something useful. However, in her heart she was still very puzzled, not knowing why the other party was asking about this.

“Besides this, are you good at anything else?” The other party continued asking.

“What other things? You mean other things I’m good at? If so, then I only know this one thing.” Qi La shook her head.

“If that’s the case, then it’s quite regrettable. Besides flower patterns, can you do other patterns?” She continued asking.

“I can. I know quite a few patterns. I’ve embroidered quite a few patterns for others before.” Qi La continued.

The female registrar clearly looked very happy and said with a smile. “Very good. You can go now. If we need someone like you, we’ll send someone to notify you.”

She passed a housing number plate to the other party and reminded her of what to pay attention to when living there. Not only did the stone houses in the residential area have registration numbers, the wooden houses in the outer area also had registration numbers.

Each wooden house had a corresponding number. When they needed to find people later, it would also be more convenient.

“Is that all?” Qi La was somewhat stunned in place.

“Oh right, everyone can also use their number plate to go to the side and collect some daily necessities.” The female registrar pointed to the left and continued. “You must cherish the daily necessities distributed to you. If anyone is found deliberately damaging them, they will be punished.”

This was also a warm gesture Su Bai gave to the slaves. To give them a place to live and also give them some daily necessities.

Doing this was to make them completely trust the Flame Dragon Tribe. This was also groundwork for having them become official residents in the future.

“Are there even daily necessities for us? I didn’t hear wrong, did I?” Qi La felt this was really too incredible.

“Not everyone has them. Only some people do. Those who are good at certain things like you.” She explained.

Of course, those without special skills did still gain some things.

Washbasins or bowls and chopsticks for eating were still provided. The items just were not as abundant as for those with special abilities.

“I see.” Qi La took the number plate and slowly stepped back.

She did not leave directly. Instead, she retreated to a relatively open area nearby.

There was no other reason than Lu Lu was next. As far as she knew, the girl also had some things she was good at.

So, she wanted to wait for her to finish registering together, then go queue over there to collect daily necessities.

Lu Lu had heard everything clearly from behind. As soon as she stepped forward, she proactively reported her name and various information.

The person registering was somewhat startled. She had not expected this person to be so proactive and enthusiastic. She also asked what the other party was good at. Looking at the other party’s appearance, she should be good at certain things.

“I’m relatively good at making things that produce sounds, and those sounds are also very pleasant.” Lu Lu had a proud expression.

The registration staff similarly had not heard of such things and continued asking. “Can you show me?”

She was very unfamiliar with things she had not seen before. Moreover, the current registration work had to be done truthfully. So sometimes when hearing what the other party was good at, they had to see it with their own eyes for it to count.

“Of course I can. I carry it with me.” Lu Lu immediately pulled out a round object from the small tattered bag at her side.

This round object was made from wood. Judging from the degree of wear on its exterior, it should have been held in hand and played with for a long time.

The round object also had many small holes on it. Lu Lu skillfully placed her slender fingers on the small holes.

Her mouth faced another relatively larger hole at the side and began blowing air into it.

*Hu li li la la la la…*

The instant air was transmitted, this wooden round object immediately produced crisp sounds.

The sounds were very rhythmic, but the rhythm was not long. It could be said to be fleeting.

“The sound isn’t unpleasant. It’s acceptable. I’ll register it for you first.” She similarly gave her a number plate.

“Great! Like Qi La, I also have a number plate now!” Lu Lu happily accepted the number plate.

“Let’s go. Let’s queue over there together to collect your things.” Qi La smiled.

“I just don’t know what the meaning of the numbers on this plate is. I’ve never seen them before.” Lu Lu kept curiously examining the number plate.

“I don’t understand either. We slaves have never had the qualification to learn to read. The top should be some characters.” Qi La shrugged her shoulders and walked straight toward another queue.

“The things everyone’s holding in their hands look quite good. Are they really going to give them to us?” Lu Lu murmured. She remembered very clearly that in some Tribes, these things were only provided for people with status. Even some ordinary people could not use things like this, let alone slaves like them.
