I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 991, Precision Strikes

“Quite a few of them. This will be a troublesome and fierce battle.” Qing Mu furrowed his brow.

He gripped the blade in one hand, his eyes continuously scanning the surrounding Ferocious Beasts, not daring to relax in the slightest.

“Be extremely careful not to get bitten on the neck, otherwise even if the Shaman is here, there will be no way to save you.” Chi Tu’s expression was very serious.

They had already heard Su Bai say before that as long as an injury did not directly endanger their life, they could be saved. That was, as long as one did not die on the spot, preserving one’s life would not be a problem.

“Although we now have Shaman Bone Tablets, we absolutely cannot be careless. The speed of Rain Panthers is beyond what you can estimate. You must protect your vulnerable areas.”

Qing Yan began moving his wrists, continuing to instruct, “Their single bite can directly break your bones, so we cannot make any mistakes.”

He was very clear that if one was bitten even once by this kind of Ferocious Beast, it truly meant the end.

Although Totem Warriors had very strong endurance and extremely robust physiques, this kind of Ferocious Beast also had very good dental strength.

A Rain Panther’s single bite could immediately tear off their bone along with their flesh.

“Understood.” The Totem Warriors nodded again.

However, this time everyone swallowed nervously, feeling all hairs on their bodies stand on end.

This feeling was truly too frightening. Everyone knew the ferocity of this kind of Ferocious Beast before their eyes.

Precisely because everyone knew, that was why at this moment everyone felt somewhat afraid.

If even Totem Warriors felt afraid, one could well imagine just how brutal this kind of Ferocious Beast was.

“Activate your Totem Power.” As Qing Yan’s voice fell, the Totem Marks starting from his chest began slowly extending towards his limbs.

He was still an Early-Stage Totem Warrior right now, but would soon break through to become a Mid-Stage Totem Warrior. Today was very likely his Tribulation for his breakthrough. If he could successfully get through this crisis, he would successfully become a Mid-Stage Totem Warrior.

Right after Qing Yan activated his Totem Power, the remaining Warriors all activated their Totem Power as well.

Facing these fierce Ferocious Beasts, they had to make the most complete preparations. Bare-handed fighting would absolutely have no chance of victory.

It was precisely because of the weapons in the Warriors’ hands that they could stand firm amidst their fear. Otherwise, they would have long since scattered in defeat.

*Roar roar roar…* The Rain Panthers also ceased their standoff and, with a loud roar, pounced towards the Warriors.

The Ferocious Beasts opened their gaping maws, the claws on their front paws also extending, as if in the next second they could tear you to shreds.

Their claws scratching on a person’s body would be like jabbing a needle into a balloon, completely unable to withstand a single blow.

*Clang clang clang…*

The Rain Panthers’ claws and teeth fell upon the Warriors’ weapons, producing harsh scraping sounds.

In the first wave of attacks, all the Warriors successfully defended, not allowing the Ferocious Beasts to harm their bodies in the slightest.

Because Qing Yan had the greatest strength amongst everyone, while blocking when the Rain Panthers pounced, in the next second he rotated his wrist and shifted the direction of his weapon.

With a swift motion of his hand and a fall of his blade, he directly severed one Rain Panther’s paw. The entire process was extremely clean and efficient.

One must understand that Rain Panther skin was very rough and tough. Although it was raining, this did not affect the toughness of their skin at all.

Yet Qing Yan had directly severed the Ferocious Beast’s paw with a single charged strike. One could well imagine how much strength he had used.

The Ferocious Beast whose paw had been severed howled on the side, instantly losing that initial sense of oppression.

“Die!” Qing Yan would not show mercy to the opponent. Right now, it was either it died or he dies. He went up and delivered another strike.

With the first Rain Panther’s death, the other Rain Panthers’ attacks clearly slowed.

They did not directly pounce as they had at the start, but instead began circling in place, seeking the next opportunity.

This kind of Ferocious Beast was very clever. They knew that assessing the situation was important.

“Absolutely do not reserve your strength! You must frighten them from the very start. Once these beasts catch a gap, we’re finished!” Qing Yan wiped away the blood sprayed on his face. With the rainwater washing over him, it was wiped clean in an instant.

He had just now, one could say, used all the strength in his body to barely sever this kind of Ferocious Beast’s paw. One could well imagine that if they were careless, the consequences would be incalculable.

“Understood!” Qing Mu, Chi Tu, and the other Totem Warriors nodded solemnly.

Even if Qing Yan had not said so, they understood, because the force with which the Ferocious Beasts exposed when they pounced was simply too great.

Before the Rain Panthers even made contact with the Totem Warriors’ weapons, the Warriors could already feel that intense oppressive force and had all spontaneously used all their strength to resist.

However, this severely tested the Warriors’ quick reaction and judgment. If their judgment was wrong, the Rain Panthers’ claws or teeth would fall upon their own bodies.

This was also why Warriors had to train day after day, because there was no opportunity for them to make mistakes in such situations. In this cruel primitive era, the slightest mistake meant their death.

So just now, all the Totem Warriors were able to precisely judge the Ferocious Beasts’ next attack, which was how they endured the first round.

*Roar roar roar…*

Right after the Totem Warriors responded, the Rain Panthers began the next round of attacks.

They likewise extended their claws and teeth and pounced at the Warriors, but this time the Ferocious Beasts had grown clever.

They utilised the surrounding terrain and trees to leap, so that the Totem Warriors would have no way to make precise judgments.

“Truly cunning beasts.” Qing Yan was startled by these Ferocious Beasts’ intelligence.

However, he immediately made adjustments, rotating his body, trying to leave his back facing the Ferocious Beasts.

The other side concealed his weapon, which was charging up power. When the Ferocious Beasts thought they saw a weakness, he would strike unexpectedly.

Clearly, Ferocious Beasts were just Ferocious Beasts. Qing Yan’s stratagem worked. With a single sweeping slash, two Rain Panther heads fell to the ground.

Qing Yan had used tremendous strength, as if he wanted to fling his arm out as well.

Those two Ferocious Beasts did not even make a sound of agony before their heads separated from their bodies.

The other Totem Warriors’ combat effectiveness was shown to be exceptional as well. They either severed the Rain Panthers at the waist or decapitated, or else severed paws. Meanwhile, they only suffered some scratches.

Rainwater and blood mixed together. A large pool of bloody water appeared on the ground. Naturally, this also included the blood of the Totem Warriors.

Not all Totem Warriors reacted as swiftly as Qing Yan. Some inevitably took the claws strikes.

Fortunately, however, no Warriors were bitten by the Rain Panthers, otherwise they would have lost a Totem Warrior.

The entire killing and fighting lasted over half an hour before ending. The Warriors were completely exhausted and collapsed on the ground.

They did not care about the feeling of raindrops hitting their faces. They only felt utterly drained of all strength.
