Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 638: Chapter 637: Pupitar and the Legacy of the Ken 6.0 Club

If she had never experienced the outside world, it would have been fine, but now it’s different. To put it simply, her feelings towards Momonosuke have undergone a huge change, and she is on the verge of turning dark.

But it doesn’t just turn dark like that; it at least requires the accumulation of time.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Yamato faced another misfortune. Ajin 6.0 did not retire smoothly like 5.0 but unfortunately perished, and the cause wasn’t anything else but Larvitar.

”Spit it out! You spit it out for me! That’s not for you to eat!!”

”Yuji....”

Larvitar scratched its head somewhat helplessly, truly putting it in a difficult position as an accident occurred during its meal.

For some reason, it was particularly hungry today, insatiable no matter how much it ate. Looking at the Wolf Fang Club placed beside Yamato, a desire to eat it churned within its heart.

Yamato didn’t guard against Larvitar, and by the time she realized, Ajin 6.0 was already in its stomach. Yamato attempted to rescue it but only retrieved a handle.

”6.0.... Rest in peace, I will let 7.0 inherit your will...”

The ruined Wolf Fang Club was irreparable. She certainly couldn’t cut open Larvitar’s stomach to retrieve her Ajin, and given Larvitar’s digestive capabilities, 6.0 had likely already turned into molten iron.

”What’s wrong with you today? You’ve already eaten five times your usual amount, and you’re still not full?”

Watching Larvitar digging in and eating dirt, Yamato questioned in confusion.

”Yuji...”

”You don’t know either? Just feeling hungry? Diancie, help give it some diamonds, if it’s still not full, we’ll have to take it to see a doctor.”

Larvitar’s appetite had slightly increased before, but never to such an extent.

Even Yamato knew that a sudden increase in appetite was not a good sign. After commissioning Diancie to produce more diamonds, she continued to observe Larvitar.

Eventually, she discovered the problem, with white light emanating from Larvitar’s body, she understood what was happening.

”Are you about to evolve?!”

”Yuji?”

Larvitar hadn’t realized yet and was already completely enveloped in white light.

Since its hatching, a long time had passed, and Kaidou indeed did not fetch a whole island back, while Arceus aimed to raise Larvitar, keeping Yamato immersed in training.

Though the ultimate goal hadn’t been achieved, her strength was improving continuously. Larvitar hadn’t devoured an island directly, but had been fed a massive amount of ore and soil daily from different locations.

Day by day, the energy stored in Larvitar was enough for it to evolve. It was just that the process led to an energy surge, causing subsequent events to unfold.

As the white light dispersed, Larvitar evolved into Pupitar; its previously short limbs vanished, leaving only the blue carapace wrapping its exterior.

Pupitar’s body was covered by a greyish-blue hard shell, aside from the small pointy horns on its surface, a few peculiar cavities remained. At this time, it was jumping around on the ground, seemingly more active despite losing its limbs.

Currently in its chrysalis form, the food amassed during its Larvitar stage transformed into energy within, supporting the development of its body under the carapace.

Thud thud.

Yamato knocked on the shell above, although resembling a cocoon, Larvitar’s shell far surpassed ordinary rock in hardness.

”Pupitar.”

Larvitar signaled Yamato to climb onto its back. Although she didn’t understand its intention, she sat atop its head. Suddenly, the dust below swirled up, and air currents began jetting violently from vents on Pupitar’s shell.

Buoyed by the provided airflow, Pupitar actually lifted into the air.

This marked a glorious moment in this Pokemon’s life; although without limbs, Pupitar’s stage became its most agile period.

Pupitar compressed internal gas and erupted it outwardly in fierce bursts, allowing it to fly akin to a rocket.

This ability persisted for a considerable duration until it metamorphosed from its chrysalis into Tyranitar.

The powerful current emitted by the large Pupitar stirred up waves across the Inner Sea of Wano Kuni, causing Page One, who was fishing, to drop his rod.

With the fish all scared away by the event, continuation seemed meaningless. Just as he prepared to leave with an empty bucket, he felt someone grab him.

”Sis? What are you doing here?”

”Hey Peji, look at how happy Yamato is, playing up there in the sky by herself.”

”So....”

For reasons unknown, Page One harbored a foreboding sense, knowing Ulti’s sudden appearance beside him seldom spelled good.

”We should fly too! That big Pokemon is flying with jets, your ability is also jet-powered flight; let’s race to see who flies faster!”

”Why compete in something so meaningless...”

”Come on! Come on, Peji, can’t you play along with me?”

Ulti was almost hanging around Page One’s neck, appearing to others as though she was being clingy, but to Page One, it felt suffocating.

”Let go, let go sis, I’m suffocating, I’ll take you to fly, alright...”

”Great, truly Peji, you’re the best.”

Also jet-powered, Garchomp’s flight was far stronger than Pupitar’s. Soon Page One caught up with Ulti soaring ahead, embarking on what he deemed a pointless race.

However, unlike Garchomp, Pupitar’s flight duration was limited and it wasn’t long before it made an emergency landing on the roof of Ghost Island.

...

Exchanging greetings with the siblings, Yamato took the remnants of the Wolf Fang Club to find Arceus.

”Godfather, Ajin 6.0 met with misfortune too, could you help make a sturdier one for me?”

”What happened to it?”

”It was Larvitar, which seemed on the brink of evolving and swallowed 6.0 when I wasn’t looking, then it evolved into Pupitar.”

”It’s evolving quite rapidly; don’t relax after this, or your father will reclaim the right to raise Pupitar.”

”I understand, I feel I’ve found a way to defeat Uncle Queen, it’s just my ice isn’t strong enough yet.”

”Hm, go measure your height, your weapon needs updating too. I’ll find you a few specialized blacksmiths this time.”

As her body matured, her weapon needed upgrading as well. Ajin 1.0 was only a child’s toy; by 6.0, it had seen great progress. Yamato’s growth basically concluded, predicting 7.0 to be the final version without surprises.

It could be said to be the ultimate version, inheriting the will of its six preceding iterations, forming an ”inspirational story” of a mighty weapon arising through the strength and ambition of her predecessors.

”But godfather, which craftsman do you plan to have craft Ajin? I feel like the people of Wano Kuni aren’t adept at crafting such weapons.”

”Just wait, you’ll see when the time comes.”
