Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 607: Chapter 606: Fanatic and Zealous Nun

At this moment, Rami was cleaning the handrails outside the door. Her way of cleaning was quite unique; she didn’t use any cleaning tools, but simply placed her hands on it. Her hands then seemed to melt and enveloped what she wanted to clean.

As the colorful sludge slid over it, the handrails became completely new. The ability of Alola Muk was used by her in this place.

After Mandfeish’s ability transformation, one could gain the ability to breathe underwater, while Rami’s transformation allowed her to feed on dust and toxic substances.

The dust and germs on the handrails became her snacks, and her ability also had a disinfecting function.

Inside Alola Muk’s body was a liquid mixture of hundreds of types of bacteria, toxins, and other deadly substances. These things are harmless when inside Muk’s body but become lethal once they leave Muk’s control.

However, when Rami used her ability, these things were always under her control. By fighting poison with poison, she could neutralize these substances into a disinfectant.

Poisons and medicine are often interchangeable, and Rami’s ability worked on the same principle. Of course, her cleaning actions, with conscious manipulation, could easily turn into poisoning acts.

As for why she knew these things, she was unsure. She felt like someone had taught her before, which is why she understood some medical knowledge. However, she couldn’t recall other matters.

”Little Rami, where is Sister Misu?”

”Uncle Mandfeish? The nun is inside, she’s helping everyone clean the Monastery.”

”Then I’ll leave the guests with you. I have some personal matters to attend to.”

Looking at Rami by the door, Mandfeish left Tiger there and then left with Rushaka. He planned to take Rushaka to check out the hot springs first.

...

”Follow me, red uncle.”

Rami grabbed Tiger’s hand and led him into the Monastery. Tiger didn’t mind the ”red uncle” nickname; even if he had seen many differences from Wano Kuni, Rami was the first human child who dared to proactively hold his hand.

Koala initially was as wooden as a doll, not suitable as a normal reference case.

Walking past the walls, Tiger realized he had underestimated the scale of the Monastery. Besides the rather magnificent central church, there were many other buildings whose purposes he didn’t understand.

”Over there is the dormitory, where everyone sleeps at night. That’s the school, this is the small canteen, and ahead is the place for worship. The nun is over there. Follow me.”

As Rami introduced the surroundings to Tiger, she was also calling out for Misu.

”Sister Misu! Sister Misu! The guests Uncle Mandfeish brought back are here!”

Upon seeing Misu’s figure, Rami excitedly ran over without noticing the stairs, tripping over them. Just as Tiger was about to help her, he noticed Rami’s body turned into a puddle of sludge on the ground, then stood up as if nothing had happened.

”Rami, you’re misusing your ability again.”

”But aren’t abilities meant to be used in daily life? That’s how you can better train your ability and strive for the Lord.”

”Have you finished today’s work?”

”Finished, I’ve disinfected all the handrails!”

”Go play; there’s no training class today.”

After Rami left, Misu turned to Tiger.

”Pardon me, that child is my daughter. You must be Tiger. I have sensed something from our exchanges, and now I finally see you.”

”Not at all. It was you who helped solve many of my doubts.”

”No need for honorifics with me. There’s not much difference between us. You probably have a lot of questions, and I have some topics I wish to discuss with you. Let’s walk and talk.”

...

Misu led Tiger towards the constructed church, the most solemn place within the Monastery.

The storytelling on the walls, sculptures on the ceiling, and the icons in the room formed an integrated whole, and stepping inside felt like entering a historical river, witnessing those events.

”Sister Misu, about that girl just now... Forgive me for speaking bluntly, but you don’t look alike at all.”

”That’s another story. That child is not my biological daughter, just something unexpected that happened. If you’ve studied the doctrines, you would know about Freyvans. We are survivors from there.

Fisher Tiger, I’ve heard your Princess has her own ideals. What do you think about her?”

Misu didn’t intend to recount past experiences with Tiger, switching the topic back to Fishman Island.

”Princess Otohime... is a respectable person. She has always been dedicated to Fishman Island, contributing in her own way, but I don’t believe she will succeed. The Princess’s vision is too idealistic.”

Though Tiger respected peace, he was a fighter by nature and hadn’t given up the benefits of force.

”But today I seem to have seen the world Princess Otohime envisions. If the whole world were like this, it would indeed be a wonderful scene.”

”It’s a pity, but that’s impossible, at least not now. Within Wano Kuni, there’s no discrimination; workers are rewarded, efforts are rewarded, and regardless of race, anyone with ability can achieve status here. Do you know why?”

”Why?”

”Because of force, because the Lord and His executors possess top-tier world strength. Their force allows them to implement their order here.”

When discussing Arceus, Misu’s tone took on a hint of reverence, and using the stories depicted in murals, she began to tell Tiger about her changes.

”Years ago, I hadn’t found the Lord’s location. At the time, I believed that praying would bring protection; as long as there was hope for the future, it would be guaranteed. But later, I discovered I was wrong.

Then on that day, in that dark time, I saw the real dawn. Freyvans is a tragedy, a tragedy born of profit. Today, the World Government hasn’t protected the citizens of Freyvans; everyone is their sacrificial pawn for profit.

They can do this because their force has reached a peak; they can seal all information, let the truth of Platinum Lead be buried by history. If their ’force’ cannot be broken, everything’s mere empty talk.”

”I haven’t gone through what you have, but I can sense your feelings, that’s a dark hell..”

”Everyone has pasts they’d rather not mention; there’s no need to reopen one’s scars.”

”You speak of force; the World Government reveals just the tip of the iceberg, enough to dissuade most from even thinking of resistance...”

”We lack that capability, but we can contribute our strength elsewhere, offering our efforts for the restoration of the Lord’s power.”
