Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 610: Chapter 609: Fishman Priest, Yamato’s Ship

The difference between the Fur Race and humans is significant. After the full moon, these two children showed their lively and active side, and their energy is much more abundant than that of human children. This also has some connection to the blessing of Arceus.

Moreover, the growth period of the Fur Race is inherently shorter than that of humans. Free-range upbringing after the full moon is also a consistent tradition of the Fur Race.

All Fur Race born in Zou play in Zou’s forests at a very young age. Through play, their bodies get exercised and gradually grow, which is why the Zou Fur Race has always been a warrior race.

Furthermore, from the perspective of the Fur Race, although children are precious, they don’t require as meticulous care after a full moon. This is also why Setsuna can trust Perona with the children.

Apart from her, the two children are also accompanied by Kuma and Bepo. Bepo’s current combat effectiveness can be ignored, but the combination of Negative Ghost and Kuma’s attack is something not many can withstand.

This is equivalent to facing Kuma’s full-force strike in a completely defenseless state.

This place is the base camp of the Hundred Beasts, with a very high safety factor, this setup is already cautious enough.

Zeraora originally thought they should be more careful, but Hatch and Ling both assured him to relax, stating that Setsuna and Wanda were raised this way.

With the father-in-law, mother-in-law, wife, and sister-in-law all agreeing, Zeraora followed their arrangement.

Fur Race naturally has the appearance of beastmen, and if not careful, Fur Race just a few months old can lead to misunderstandings like Tiger experienced. Even though Perona knew he didn’t do it on purpose, it still sounded unpleasant, so she used Negative Ghost.

One must either have Haki strong enough to resist the Negative Ghost’s influence, possess some bug-level ability against the Negative Ghost, or be inherently very negative; otherwise, there’s no way to counter the Negative Ghost.

Tiger didn’t fall into any of these categories, and naturally ended up in this state.

”I’m deeply sorry, I misspoke.”

When the effect of the Negative Ghost ended, Tiger solemnly apologized to the two small Fur Race children. Those who oppose racial discrimination fall into two categories: those who hope no one discriminates against each other and can live equally.

The other category only opposes being discriminated against themselves. While they are being discriminated against, they also discriminate against others, and these are the most hateful people. They are entirely undeserving of sympathy for being discriminated against.

Otohime and Tiger belong to the former category, although their methods differ greatly, while Ah Long skates the edges.

Most of the time, he’s in the latter category, and only rarely in the former. However, now that Tiger is alive, it’s like forcefully pulling Ah Long back, leading him to make significant changes.

Because he knows the pain of the Fishman Race being discriminated against, Tiger knows that his words were akin to insulting speech. Seeing his sincere demeanor, Perona didn’t want to quibble, letting Kuma take her little siblings away.

”Are they beastmen?”

”The Fur Race living on the back of the Zou Elephant have some similarities with your Fishman Race; however, you are marine creatures, whereas they are mammals.

The parents of those two little ones are kings of the Fur Race, and the girl named Perona is a human girl adopted by the Fur Race.

As you’ve seen, the ideal of coexistence has long been realized here, this is the most beautiful side, and now we’ll go see the ’evil’ behind this beauty.”

Then Misu and Tiger left Kuri and headed to the Udon, the final outer area, which not only houses a weapons factory but also Wano Kuni’s largest prison—the Udon Quarry.

”Most of those here are pirates who challenged Hundred Beasts and lost, along with some criminals. Depending on their offense, they must repay their sins through different labors, using physical strength to atone for past mistakes.

Nothing here is achieved through prayers, but built through force. Without force, the most beautiful ideals cannot be realized.”

They stayed here for a very short time because there wasn’t much to see; the routine, repetitive labor seemed boring even to just watch.

Then Tiger stayed here for a few more days, and during this time, he also experienced the prosperity of the Flower Capital, even conversing with Kawamatsu and auditing several history classes in the Flower Capital’s school, gaining some understanding of past events.

During this period, he participated in small-scale celebrations within Wano Kuni and personally participated in quite a bit of labor. Yet, when Misu was ready to take Tiger to Ghost Island to meet Arceus, he refused.

”You’re really not going? The Lord is not so distant from us, and he’s a very easygoing person.”

”No, Nun, you’ve organized the doctrines and spread the belief within Wano Kuni, while I am empty-handed, having made no contributions. What qualifications do I have to meet the Lord?

I’ve already decided, I’ve been languishing for too long, even forgetting my original purpose; I am an adventurer after all...”

Tiger expressed his intentions to Misu; he plans to return to Fishman Island and form a new expedition team with Ah Long and the others. Staying cooped up in the amusement park that Mandfeish built for Rushaka is unfitting.

Like the Nokes Expedition Team currently adventuring outside, he plans to join the team searching for Plates. As a member of the Fishman Race, he has more advantages, and he also wants to return to Fishman Island to spread these ideas and contribute to an ideal future.

He himself is also a person of action, and after setting his goals, he didn’t even wait for Mandfeish but followed a commercial ship from the Hundred Beasts heading to Shampodi, leaving this place, and before leaving, Misu gave him many items.

...

”Holy Beast, that Fishman has left. Here is Sister Misu’s assessment of him; she believes Tiger has become a qualified Priest, capable of spreading the new belief.”

Misu, although always a nun, is the only experienced religious personnel within the Arceus Sect, and her authority within this religion is close to the Pope of previous sects. However, she always insists she is just an ordinary nun.

As for Shaina, she holds the position of ”Divine Envoy” in her heart, and that is her goal. Her room not only has art supplies and books but also many fitness equipment, and she’s gradually striving towards a peculiar direction.

Concerning these matters, Arceus doesn’t care much anymore. As long as there’s no bizarre decree made, he lets them go about it themselves.

”By the way, Holy Beast, Ms. Yamato’s ship has been completed. Ms. Yamato has always wanted to set sail recently and even named the ship ’Yamato’.”
