Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 631: Chapter 630: A ”Hero” with More Influence Than Red Hair

Manaphy was actually present at the wedding, serving as the representative of Arceus. He didn’t really have to take action against the ordinary Fishman since Mandfeish, Tiger, and the organized Sea King Army were there, and Neptune himself possessed significant strength.

On Fishman Island, he was known as the ”Great Knight of the Sea.” Even relying solely on his size, he was much stronger than these ordinary Fishmen.

If it weren’t for the overwhelming numbers that annoyed Mandfeish, there would’ve been no need for him to intervene in this rebellion.

However, the disturbances in the ocean caught Manaphy’s attention, as the created mythical creatures each held unique significance.

Zeraora came about due to the Fur Race, Darkrai in search of the Netherworld, Genesect as a War Machine Soldier creation, and Diancie for the economic benefits of Hundred Beasts Fruit and as a new playmate for Yamato.

When Manaphy was born, Arceus had the intention of using him to pacify the Sea King Type.

All these years, he has been doing just that, ensuring the Sea King Type or Sea Beasts near deep-sea minerals left without harming the working Fishmen.

Although Manaphy wasn’t able to command the Sea King Type directly like the Sea King could after awakening, he naturally possessed a friendly aura.

All marine creatures had a default attitude of friendliness and affection towards him, and they followed his suggestions almost unanimously.

Manaphy did not live as a king but as a friend among marine creatures.

Or rather, he was the group pet of marine creatures.

Though he couldn’t directly command the Sea King Type, his influence was broader; all marine animals, whether Sea King Type or Sea Beasts, were quite friendly towards him.

Sea Beasts and Sea King Types are two different groups; they are distinguished not only by size but also by species.

Marine monsters of the ”mammalian” class are classified as Sea Beasts, such as Sea Lions and Sea Leopards.

All other amphibious or avian marine monsters fall under the category of Sea King Type.

Over the years, Manaphy has also discovered the characteristics of the Sea King Type. They and the Sea Beasts possess considerable intelligence, and the larger they are, the smarter they become; it’s just that ordinary people can’t understand their speech.

Although the Mermaid Race and a small portion of the Fishman Race have the ability to communicate with fish, it is limited to ordinary fish.

The Fishman Race, because they consume fish, lack the ability to communicate with them, or rather, because they can’t understand fish, they have included them in their diet.

Fishmen with the ability to communicate with fish are extremely rare, and without exception, they are kind-hearted individuals.

As for the Sea King Type, only the awakened Sea Kings possess the ability to communicate with them.

Manaphy, being a special creature capable of communicating with them but not being a Sea King, also garnered some attention from the Sea King Type. However, this was not considered significant in their long lifespans.

”Stop! Stop! Do not come any closer!”

”Little one, step aside, our king is crying, we must go protect the king.”

A Sea King Type with the head of a Karasu spoke in a slightly hoarse voice. This time, they did not want to follow Manaphy’s suggestion; for the Sea King Type, the orders of the Sea King took precedence.

”That’s right, we’re not here to destroy this place, we just heard the king’s cries.”

”Do you want to frighten your king? Moreover, the situation on the island has already been resolved! Your approach will only cause a new wave of panic!”

Manaphy still didn’t know who the awakened Sea King was, but when he surfaced, the rebellion below had already been suppressed.

These giant Sea King Types had fully developed cognitive abilities and weren’t incapable of understanding reason. Since their concern was the Sea King, he would use the Sea King to persuade them.

Their sheer size posed a calamity for Fishman Island; with their scale, there was a possibility of breaking the island’s Bubble Film. Although the Fishmen and Mermaids wouldn’t drown, the influx of seawater would destroy many things.

For the humans residing on Fishman Island, it would be a catastrophe.

”He makes a good point; the king hasn’t truly awakened yet. We shouldn’t disturb her... ”---” Look into the king’s condition.”

A larger Sea King Type appeared from behind, its head shaped like a giant turtle. Manaphy even saw seaweed growing on it; this creature probably hadn’t moved from the seabed in decades.

He spoke in a strange name that even Manaphy couldn’t understand, but afterward, a peregrine-headed Sea King Type swam upwards to a position with a clearer view.

The Sea King Types possessed not only colossal size but also other biological traits, and the eyesight of raptor-type Sea King Types was generally more acute.

”The king is fine; the little fellow was telling the truth.”

”We’ll stay around here for a while; once the king stops crying, we’ll naturally leave.”

Several Sea King Types retreated into the surrounding shadows. As long as the Sea King was safe, they opted to give this group pet some face; within the Sea King Type community, Manaphy’s influence surpassed even Shanks’.

”Don’t worry, don’t worry, if anyone dares to harm your ’king’, I’ll give them a lesson. But which one exactly is your king?”

It wasn’t just Shirahoshi who was scared to tears; the residents of Fishman Island hadn’t experienced such chaos in many years.

”The slightly larger girl with the pink hair.”

”Oh, it’s Shirahoshi, I see. Rest assured, just watch from the side.”

”The king’s name... is Shirahoshi?”

After Manaphy rode the sea currents back to Fishman Island, the Sea King Types retreating into the darkness etched the name ”Shirahoshi” into their memory.

.....

The Sea King Types temporarily withdrew, yet Manaphy encountered a new situation upon returning to Fishman Island.

He didn’t always stay in the deep sea; once the nearby Sea King Types were persuaded to leave, he returned to Fishman Island to enjoy life. Even though for the Mermaids and Fishmen, he lacked the group pet buff, his adorable appearance gained him some sister fans and mother fans.

From Manaphy’s perspective, he merely had a friendly exchange with those big guys, but the ordinary Mermaids had no idea what had transpired; most people didn’t even know about the legend of the Mermaid Princess being the Sea King, only a select few knew.

To the residents of Fishman Island, it appeared as if giant Sea King Types inexplicably surrounded the island. They had heard the legends of Manaphy from family members who worked in the mining company, but this time they witnessed it firsthand.

Manaphy successfully resolved the major crisis, and that’s what they perceived.

Thus, Manaphy instantly became the ”hero” in the eyes of Fishman Island’s residents, and before he could figure out what just happened, he was thrown into the air amidst cheers from the crowd.

However, some weren’t so at ease; Otohime and Neptune’s eyes were filled with concern, while an excited gaze hid in the shadows, seemingly having discovered something momentous.
