Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 616: Chapter 615: A Transforming Pokemon Appears

Apart from the muscular turtles, Tesoro also brought along golden bats and glowing-eyed owls. He brought these peculiar animals to Arceus.

”Did you rob an Exotic Beast Island?”

Arceus was puzzled as to where Tesoro found these bizarre creatures. The golden bats seemed a bit fierce, but the turtles and owls were entirely different.

These turtles had well-developed muscles on their limbs and could walk on two legs like Kappas. They served as engine power in Tesoro’s timeline and were a major source of power on the Grand Tesoro.

Previously, he would enslave those turtles, using electric shocks to make them work, and completely controlled them with the Gol-Gol Fruit.

But the current Tesoro was not so extreme. He wouldn’t enslave them and hadn’t developed his Gol Gol Fruit to the Awakening level.

This current Tesoro lacked absolute control over the Grand Tesoro, which is why he was here, seeking some assistance from Arceus.

”Previously, someone inadvertently discovered an Exotic Beast Island in the Windless Zone while sailing. It was full of these strange species and this owl.

Lord Arceus, look, their eyes can emit red light, enabling infrared scanning to detect enemies, but only living ones.”

As he spoke, he demonstrated the owls’ abilities. When they saw living creatures in their line of sight, the owls would cry out one after another, their calls seemingly conveying a secret message.

”In addition, I also encountered two giant sea turtles; they can pull ships like the serpents of Kuja. The owls and bats are manageable. I plan to place those bats in the ship’s drainpipes to deter thieves.

Owls can be placed in critical areas as alarms. Their numbers aren’t particularly high; these muscle turtles are the island’s main species.

They can even serve as power sources for small races. I’m planning to make this a project on the Grand Tesoro, but communicating with these turtles is a problem.”

”How did you bring them here? I see they have no intention of resisting.”

The bats and owls weren’t very intelligent, but Arceus sensed a considerable intellect from the muscle turtles, and they followed Tesoro willingly without coercion.

”That island is in the Windless Zone, so supplies were scarce. These turtles seemed to lack food, so I made some trades with them using food.”

”Hold on a second.”

Tesoro’s ability to control vast economic resources was inseparably linked to this ship, and apart from the Hundred Beasts Fruit, this ship could also bring significant profits to the Hundred Beasts.

Guests from all over the world also meant a more complex intelligence network, so Arceus didn’t mind taking care of some of Tesoro’s troubles, such as negotiating with these muscle turtles.

The Pirate World has many magical species; Radio Snails are one, enjoying being fed by humans and willingly transformed into Radio Snails. These muscle turtles, however, had no such proclivities and were more like workers. Eventually, Arceus reached some agreements with them.

The muscle turtles would be divided into three shifts, each working eight hours a day, but provided with three meals and snacks daily.

They needed milk in the morning and an hour of rest during each shift.

They also required wages, bonuses paid twice a year, and special annual leave, and their salary had to increase proportionally. The Grand Tesoro needed a dedicated turtle store and essential turtle rights needed to be guaranteed.

Seeing these bargaining turtles, Arceus suddenly found them amusing and agreed to their not-too-excessive conditions. These turtles seemed to lack a clear economic concept, and their salary demands weren’t high as long as they had enough to eat and drink.

According to their description, the number of turtles on that island had reached its limit, so when they met Tesoro, they followed him to explore other opportunities.

After reaching an agreement with these working turtles, Arceus sent them to the fire brigade to exchange ideas with Squirtle, who was also a turtle.

...

”I’ll prepare an Electivire and a few Rotom for you so most problems can be avoided. How’s the business strategy coming along?”

”Rest assured, Lord Arceus, the initial strategy is already set. Our goal is to become the largest intermediary platform and use it to promote our products. We won’t touch the businesses you dislike.

The biggest revenue will probably still come from the casino. I’ll make sure those who ate our resources return the money they took.”

He meant the officials of the World Government. Over the years, they had been quite corrupt, and now it was time to reclaim the debts.

As for the casino’s revenue issue, gambling is mostly a swindle. Casino operators are skilled in cheating, but Tesoro doesn’t need those tricks. With Baccarat on his side, he’s invincible in the casino.

If someone truly has incredible luck, he can concede, they can afford to lose in that aspect, but if anyone dares to resort to tricks, he wouldn’t mind retaliating.

In the face of absolute luck, small scheming is useless.

”The turtle racing is a new project. While similar to horse racing, this novel method should attract quite a few people.”

A casino needs its unique features, which is why Tesoro hired these muscle turtles. Compared to ordinary horse-drawn carriages, these turtle carriages are more eye-catching.

”In that case, I’ll support you with another unique project. Motorcycle racing should be a great addition.”

A green Pokemon appeared before Tesoro. It looked like an ordinary lizard, but it had a tire-like structure on its chest.

This is Cyclizar, a mild-mannered Pokemon adept at running, capable of transforming into a motorcycle-like form for special movement.

They’re unique, and unlike ordinary cold-blooded animals, they use the body heat of the person riding on their backs to warm their back blood, restoring vitality in this way.

When carrying a person, their maximum speed can reach 120 km/h. Their hard head and flexible, thick tail not only help absorb impact and maintain balance during high-speed runs but also serve as powerful offensive tools in battles.

With their addition, Grand Tesoro could even host no-rules motorcycle races, with the outcomes entirely within Tesoro’s control.
