Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 608: Chapter 607: The Most Practical Divine Sect in Known Territory

The teachings of the Arceus Sect actually have an extended aspect, and finding the Plates is the greatest contribution that followers of this sect can make.

”Hundreds of years ago, the Lord had already appeared here, but someone caused the Lord to lose his power, and even now, his power has not fully recovered.

We are not a match for the World Government, our power seems insignificant, but as long as the Lord’s power is restored, he will be the strongest existence in the world, and what we need to do is contribute to this cause.”

At this moment, Misu arrived in front of a mural, which depicted several Plates.

”These are the things the Lord needs. They might be in any corner of the world, and finding clues about them is what we can do.”

”Sister Misu, actually, I have a question. You frequently mention ’value’ in the teachings. Is this the value you speak of?”

”We all have a value for existing in this world, and no one else has the right to negate this value. But this value refers to the value to the Lord.

There was a time when I thought prayer was enough, but I realized that wasn’t the right path. There may be millions praying, and when two people pray for opposite outcomes of the same matter, it becomes a question of whose ideal is realized.

The Lord has his own preferences. Those who can demonstrate more value will naturally receive some favor. You might find these words a bit utilitarian, but it’s much more practical than vague, ethereal faith.”

This is the biggest difference between the Arceus Sect and other religions: practicality.

It doesn’t preach about past lives or indulgences in the afterlife. Finding the things Arceus needs brings tangible benefits.

Wealth, strength, health, life—these are no longer illusions. It is precisely due to this practicality that the influence of the Arceus Sect can expand rapidly.

”The Lord dislikes the current framework; the teachings make it clear that the World Government is his enemy. The day the Lord truly revives is the moment the old framework is overthrown, and we are the individuals who contribute to this process.

The Lord will not spare his enemies, nor will he treat those who have meritoriously badly. In that New World where status is determined by ability instead of lineage, your ambitions and ideals have the chance to be realized.”

Under the statue, Misu began to sketch an even more perfect ideal country.

When Mandfeish returned here, it was morning, but it was not until dusk that Tiger and Misu left the cathedral. They only finished their first discussion at sunset, leaving the church.

”Some things are hard to express with words alone. It’s already late evening, and there’s not enough time. Tomorrow, I’ll take you around Wano Kuni so you can understand more. For today, you can rest at the monastery.”

”Then I’ll intrude.”

”Would you like to join us for a meal? The dining hall here has a rich variety of flavors; I’m sure there’s something you’d like.”

”No, I’ve gained a lot today and need to digest it.”

On the surface, Tiger’s notebook showed no signs of change, but its content had nearly doubled. A day of conversation had brought Tiger significant insight; he needed to summarize a few things.

Through his conversation with Misu, he increasingly felt Otohime’s ideas were too naive, and Ah Long’s methods too extreme; he needed to find a suitable middle ground.

Under Misu’s arrangement, Tiger temporarily stayed at the monastery.

...

Mandfeish shared similar thoughts. The area of Wano Kuni is vast, and a single day is not enough to explore the entire country.

While Misu and Tiger were discussing religious issues at the monastery, Mandfeish took Rushaka on a tour of the Hakumai Region to experience Wano Kuni’s unique hot springs.

Even on his own territory, there were no natural hot springs, but due to its terrain, Wano Kuni has several natural hot springs, offering a completely different experience from man-made ones.

Afterward, he and Rushaka returned to Ghost Island. Although both were excellent swimmers, they still chose to cross Wano Kuni’s Inner Sea by boat, as getting their clothes wet would not have been pleasant.

As Mandfeish stepped off the small boat, he saw Page One fishing by the edge of Ghost Island.

”Page One? What are you doing here alone?”

”Yamato and the others are having some kind of girls’ gathering, and my sister was pulled along with them. Captain Kaidou is giving Big Brother Jack special training, so I had nothing to do and decided to come here to fish.”

Fishing is one of Page One’s major hobbies. His fishing skills are average, but he enjoys the process, especially when Ulti is not around.

When Ulti is by his side, the atmosphere always becomes noisy, so this peace is precious to him.

Soon, Page One felt a tug on the fishing rod. As he reeled it in, a Mareanie was clinging to the hook as he pulled it up.

”I don’t have any snacks left for you! Stop grabbing my fishhook at random!”

Seeing the Mareanie on the hook, Page One expertly placed it back into the sea. It wasn’t the first time today, so he skillfully released the Mareanie back. Seeing the empty bucket and the setting sun, he simply packed up the fishing rod and ended his fishing activity for the day.

He joined Mandfeish and the others to the dining hall, where they also met Jack, who had just finished his special training.

”Big Brother Mandfeish, did you finally bring Sis-in-law back here?”

While on missions, Jack occasionally passed by Mandfeish’s island. He was not unfamiliar with Rushaka, having known of her existence since Fishman Island, but it was his first time meeting Rushaka on Ghost Island.

”Yes, I brought her back to take a look. By the way, Jack, we might hold a wedding on Fishman Island this year. If you’re free, remember to come.”

”I’ll definitely be there.”

Jack then left with Page One, leaving more private space for Mandfeish and Rushaka, while Shaina was in Arceus’s office inquiring about certain issues.

”Lord Holy Beast, should we arrange anything special for tomorrow?”

”No need, just let nature take its course. Let him see things as they are here, even the dark sides.”

”Understood.”

...

In the morning, Misu led Tiger to the rear entrance of the monastery, where a special mode of transportation was prepared. It looked like a regular carriage, except the creatures pulling it were two wild boars, and a flag with the word QUEEN was flapping on the carriage.

”The area of Wano Kuni is large, and having a means of transport will be convenient. This belongs to Queen, but he’s not in Wano Kuni right now, so I borrowed it.”

Tiger, standing over five meters tall, wasn’t quite at the level of a little giant, but the transportation tools typically used by Misu and others with average frames weren’t suitable for Tiger. Last night, Misu had specially borrowed this for him.
