Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 621: Chapter 620: Issho the Blind

The cover on the dice was opened once again, and the numbers revealed on the three dice made Yamato’s expression become very complicated.

”Little girl, how’s the result, who won this time?”

”Ah... still you, uncle. Damn, is my luck really that bad today?”

”Maybe I’m just lucky today, do you want to continue?”

”No more, it’s no fun. I’ve used up my allowance for today.”

”....”

Yamato’s words made the person across from him fall silent. He couldn’t see, but his mind was still sharp. They had gambled 31 rounds, and this little girl across from him had achieved a record of 31 consecutive losses.

Although the stakes weren’t big, it was enough for him to live for a while. He didn’t expect this to be just her daily allowance.

He didn’t see anything wrong with winning money from a little girl. Once you sit at the gambling table, you must be prepared. Here, even if you lose everything, it’s well-deserved. If you can’t control your desires, you’ll be consumed by them. This is the causality of the gambling table.

”I’m leaving, uncle. Do you need me to help you out? You’ve probably won enough, be careful not to get tricked. Not everyone is like me.”

In a casino, it’s inevitable for a blind man to be deceived. Yamato thought so too, because the man couldn’t even see the faces of the dice and needed to ask her for the results.

At times like these, as long as someone colluded with the dealer, a blind man couldn’t control the results. Although she lost her allowance for the day, she saw it as supporting a disabled person.

”Alright, I should probably stop here. Thank you, little girl.”

”It’s no problem. I was going to play something else on my way out anyway.”

After exchanging the chips for cash and paying part of the casino’s fee, the blind man collected his winnings and handed his blind cane to Yamato, allowing her to lead him out of the casino.

”Hey, uncle, are you always this trusting? You just won my money, and yet you hand me your guiding cane. Aren’t you afraid I’ll push you off somewhere?”

”I believe you wouldn’t do that. Plus, if you wanted to walk away with my money, you could have just left with it earlier.”

”You’re no fun at all, uncle. Aren’t you supposed to be scared at times like this? Never mind, I’ll take you to your hotel. Let me see your ticket.”

Tesoro promised a day of free meals and lodging, but you had to have a ticket to enjoy this service.

Without any suspicion, he quickly pulled out the ticket from his pocket, moving so nimbly that Yamato couldn’t tell he was blind.

”Grand Prize... uncle, your luck is really great.”

Grand Tesoro had three types of tickets this time: invitations for industry leaders, tickets for regular tourists, and these VIP tickets randomly distributed through a lottery.

Yamato remembered that these tickets were rare, and winning one already indicated luck. Considering her 31 consecutive losses, it seemed reasonable.

”Little girl, are you a staff member here? You seem very familiar with this place.”

”Not quite, I just know some people, so I’ve played here a few days beforehand. The scenery here is beautiful, it’s a pity you can’t see it, uncle.”

”Nothing to pity. Not seeing can also be a blessing. There’s too much depravity in the world that I don’t want to see. I chose to close my own eyes.”

”Chose to close them... uncle, you’re indeed a strange person. What’s your name?”

”Name... just call me Issho. You’re still too young, little girl. The world isn’t as innocent as it seems. Even someone blind like me can pose a threat to you.”

Being able to play here in advance and having considerable wealth, Issho thought she was some naive wealthy heiress. He wanted to remind her about the outside world to prevent her from getting hurt. He planned to release some intimidating aura but she was completely unphased.

”Wow, so you’re really strong, uncle. No wonder you dare to be out alone.”

Issho is indeed very strong, a man who directly earned the rank of Admiral during the Navy’s world draft.

Even without sight, his powerful Observation Haki served as his special eyes, with a mental image resembling an infrared radar map, unaffected by blindness.

Or rather, because he voluntarily blinded himself, he gained such strong Observation Haki.

Gambling is both his hobby and a way to earn a living. Different people focus on different aspects of Observation Haki. Issho’s focus is on sensing and distinguishing auras.

He can accurately perceive the contours of various objects around him. With this ability, he’s also a formidable presence in casinos, and Yamato was unknowingly betting against his moves. Winning against that is impossible.

If the casino can afford losses, he would leave in due time. But if he meets those who want to exploit him, his strength will show them true terror.

His character is rather amiable and he’s very concerned about ordinary people’s lives. But he views villains differently, being an opponent of the Seven Warlords of the Sea system, which he believes only fuels the pirates’ arrogance.

”Aren’t you the same? An interesting little girl. I wish I could’ve seen such an interesting person in my earlier years.”

He only wanted to scare her a bit, but someone who doesn’t react to such an aura is beyond ordinary. His choice of boarding this ship after winning was to see what it’s truly like.

To see whether this is an ordinary entertainment venue or a hotbed of corruption. But based on current observations, it seems like any other entertainment place, which he believes is just a facade.

There are many extraordinary people aboard this ship. On his way, he sensed more than one powerful presence.

Yamato already recognized that this blind uncle was different from ordinary blind people, but she still led him to his resting place. In her view, no matter how strong a blind person is, there would be inconveniences.

”If you need anything, press the button on the wall. I’ll tell the front desk to pay extra attention to you.”

”Thank you. By the way, little girl, what’s your name?”

”Me? I’m Yamato. Goodbye, interesting uncle. Oh, and tomorrow there’s supposed to be a great concert here. Although you can’t see, you can still listen, right? If you’re interested, you should check it out.”

Then Yamato left. She wasn’t particularly interested in gambling and her interest faded even more after losing repeatedly. Meanwhile, on the second day, Tesoro succeeded in bluffing those Heavenly Celestial Dragons away. Only after they left did the real revelry of Grand Tesoro begin.

”Heh heh heh heh, so that’s the Heavenly Celestial Dragon. People can’t even revel properly while they’re around...”

Doflamingo laughed to himself as he watched the Heavenly Celestial Dragons leave, a gleam of menace flickering under his sunglasses.
