Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 612: Chapter 611: Miniature ”Pluto” and the Changed Ah Long

The functionality of transformation is impossible to achieve in a short time. For a ship, such a feature might be excessive. Moreover, this Revavroom specializes in power, its size much larger than a typical Revavroom, almost occupying the entire engine room.

”Foster father, is this ship mine from now on?!”

”That’s right, it’s yours now. But if you want to set sail more freely, you must become stronger.”

With a brand new engine, Yamato’s enthusiasm reignited, and she rarely took the initiative to challenge Kaidou. This challenge made Kaidou feel quite ”gratified”, as he proactively responded to Yamato’s enthusiasm with even greater strength.

While the father-daughter duo engaged in familiar training, Arceus was discussing similar warship expansion issues with Queen, concluding that it was impossible.

Though Yamato recently obtained this ship, it had been in the construction sequence much earlier. From the design blueprint to the machining of parts, it had undergone a lengthy process, and currently, there’s no possibility of increasing production. The wooden sailing ship remains the mainstream among vessels.

Even with the World Government’s global resources, no significant improvements have been made in ships. The Hundred Beasts have made progress in some technologies, but there’s still a long journey ahead before reaching the step of mass production.

”However, Lord Arceus, the scholars’ documents are severely damaged. We only extracted a portion, but when those documents are pieced together... don’t they resemble the legendary Pluto?”

Pluto, the King of the Underworld, is the legendary super battleship capable of annihilating an island with a single shot and is considered one of the Ancient Weapons, created by human hands. Some descriptions in the documents gave Queen a sense of déjà vu.

”Perhaps that is Pluto’s construction method, but there’s no need to force that thing. Just use it when needed.”

In fact, those documents were originally construction methods for ancient battleships. In a sense, Yamato’s ship could be considered a miniature Pluto, albeit lacking the most crucial firepower.

As for the actual Pluto, it’s indeed hidden beneath Wano Kuni. The isolation of Wano Kuni serves the purpose of removing Pluto from people’s sight. There’s no need now; it can be unearthed naturally when it’s desired to be used.

With the elephant lord capable of normal communication, the special walls outside Wano Kuni aren’t a problem.

”Then I’ll stop research in this area. It’s not my expertise, and continuing would be a mere waste of time.”

”Continue your previous projects. There’s no need to immediately upgrade other warships. The current situation suffices.”

Queen’s research proposals returned to their previous direction, and Yamato was preparing for a new voyage and contest with Kaidou. Initially, there was no such matter, but Yamato’s prior excitement sparked different thoughts in Kaidou, adding some difficulty before this voyage.

In order to set sail more smoothly, Yamato found herself in a new ordeal, while others had already left Ghost Island in succession.

The islands outside required guarding. The newcomers to the Sea were like chives; they never ran out. Every year, there were fearless challengers, and occasionally, authentic Super Rookies emerged.

In addition to those unwilling to be mere foils in the New World, the Pirate Alliance members had plenty of work.

After Mandfeish toured most areas of Wano Kuni with Rushaka, he returned to his island post to continue working, while the Hundred Beasts’ exploration ship pursued its tasks toward the Four Seas, as Tiger began his preaching journey.

Tiger left here aboard the Hundred Beasts’ merchant ship, intending to return to Fishman Island, which would take some time. Meanwhile, Ah Long had already returned to Fishman Island, even living on Fishman Street for a while.

The area Mandfeish guarded was inherently close to Fishman Island, so not much time was wasted on the journey.

During this time, he also encountered some unpleasant events.

...

”Jinbe, how could you choose to become a lapdog of the Navy?”

After Tiger was rescued, he left the Sun Pirates to hide himself. To the World Government, such a Tiger was already dead. Once they addressed those people, the Sun Pirates issue needed handling too.

Under Jinbe’s leadership, although the Sun Pirates had done nothing outrageous, they remained an unstable factor in the eyes of the World Government.

However, the characteristics of the Fishman Race made it difficult to deal with Jinbe. Too few people couldn’t defeat him, too many and those fishmen would simply dive and run. Even deploying high-end forces might not catch them, while giving other pirates opportunities.

Thus, during the 1510 World Meeting, they concluded to grant Jinbe a position among the Seven Warlords of the Sea.

Jinbe’s strength received recognition from the World Government, and most critically, he was a fishman.

Fishman Island’s position was crucial. The World Government did not want Fishman Island to completely sever ties with them. With Tiger ”dead”, the greatest conflict had already vanished.

Having Jinbe serve as a Warlord not only showcased the World Government’s generosity but also strengthened racial harmony.

Of course, this harmony was mainly intended for the member states to witness, as they sought to express the World Government’s tolerance through this opportunity.

The racial tensions themselves were caused by the World Government’s inaction; their actions were merely papering over the cracks.

For the Fishman Race, the position also offered benefits.

In Otohime’s view, this could enhance racial understanding; Tiger saw it as a way to gain some secret intelligence; while Jinbe believed it allowed members of the Sun Pirates to remain stably on Fishman Island rather than running around.

After careful consideration, Jinbe accepted this position. This was a recent event, something Tiger knew, albeit they hadn’t informed Ah Long.

Ah Long’s reaction was within Jinbe’s expectations, yet he wasn’t angry, even somewhat gratified, as this time Ah Long referred to ”dogs of the World Government” rather than ”dogs of humans.”

Different terms imply different attitudes; this term indicates Ah Long considers a part of humans as enemies, not all humans as enemies.

Jinbe understood Ah Long’s character well; saying so already implied some changes.

”I discussed this with Brother Tai, and he agreed.”

”Tch... Brother Tai agreed to this sort of thing?”

Hearing that Tiger agreed, Ah Long naturally had no good arguments, but Jinbe’s next words made him irritable.

”Ah Long, it seems your perception of humans has changed too.”
