Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 536: Chapter 535: The Contemptuous Gaze from the Next Generation

”What is that!?”

Even though these agents weren’t on guard against creatures other than humans, and their intelligence did include the biological weapons of the Hundred Beasts, they only expected some large creatures. The larger the creature, the more powerful it usually is, which is often a logical conclusion.

Even an ordinary Gyarados is the size of a small Sea Beast, and according to research, those violent creatures are not controllable. They believed that the seas might be filled with dangerous Sea Beasts that attack any visible target aimlessly.

However, the Hundred Beasts might possess a substance similar to Seastone, allowing their ships to avoid attacks from these creatures. Even if they could control them, it would only be to distinguish friend from foe.

The level of intelligence needed to play tactics was beyond their expectations.

But they were nurtured by the World Government to carry out secret missions, not all agents were like Spandam, who was only a wastrel with a power level of 9, his greatest skill being lucky in reincarnation, having most things arranged by Spandine.

The agents fighting on the front lines reacted well; not many mastered Rokushiki, but many knew one or two techniques.

Even though Tekkai was often criticized for its lack of practicality, it still has its meaning of existence. It was just that users often used it at inappropriate times, and without Tekkai, the user might be obliterated directly.

As a downgraded version of Armament Defense, it can handle most situations, for instance now, Mareanie’s Spike Cannon was blocked with Tekkai.

Although some were scraped by it, it didn’t cause much impact.

”Captain, there’s a hole beneath the ship, but it’s been patched!”

”Captain, no casualties, just minor injuries.”

Several reports came in succession, but in the end, they hadn’t even seen the attackers clearly.

”Captain, we might have been discovered, should we continue forward?”

”Continue, keep a close guard.”

After the attack, it seemed as though nothing had happened, yet Queen in the sky was confidently broadcasting the current situation here. As a part-time performer, his filming skills were significantly better than Yamato’s, clearly relaying the situation on the enemy ship to Arceus.

”Lord Arceus, wait just two more minutes, just two minutes and they will experience the power of this creation.”

This version of Plague Disaster has the characteristic of delayed onset. It would silently invade the human body during the period when the enemy lets their guard down.

The poison gas released by Galar Weezing was odorless and highly paralyzing.

Queen even extracted ingredients for a powerful anesthetic from it. Even a tiny amount could induce full-body anesthesia, and this anesthetic had already replaced the ordinary anesthetic at the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center.

A powerful anesthetic without side effects was far more useful than a regular one, and this time, the Plague Bomb also contained similar ingredients. To talk about effects without considering dosage is irrational, and the quantity mixed by Queen was precisely enough to achieve his desired goal.

Due to individual differences, the same skill could have different power levels depending on the user. These Mareanie were sent out as the Coral Cleaning Team, and their Combat Level was not high, so their Spike Cannon merely grazed some people’s skin.

But it was the Spike Cannon laced with the Plague Bomb toxin that made an impact. As the anesthetic gas effect faded, an itchy and painful sensation began to spread in their bodies and intensified.

Initially just scratching an itch, soon they were tearing into the skin, accompanied by excruciating pain.

And those who seemed unaffected began experiencing the same symptoms shortly after. The Plague Bomb could affect them even through respiration, just with a slower onset.

”Damn, we’ve been hit...”

No matter how advanced one’s Tekkai was trained, it was useless against this kind of attack. Although some could endure this torment, this batch of Plague Bombs was only the beginning. After the ship ceased action, two gigantic Gyarados surfaced.

These were gigantic Gyarados evolved from the oversized Magikarp of Wano Kuni, four times the size of a typical Gyarados. Compared to Sea Beast versions, they were already at the Sea King Type level.

These Magikarp evolved under a unique catalyst, not an external crisis, but taunts from their offspring.

Magikarp in the external seas evolve mostly due to crises, but the seas near Wano Kuni are too calm, and they rarely encounter any circumstances here.

The past few years went like this, but with the Magikarp pilgrimage army gradually forming, they faced ridicule.

The Magikarp that reached here were led by powerful Gyarados, and the look from those Gyarados, full of disdain, towards the Magikarp altered directly by Arceus without evolving.

It seemed to taunt them: holding the most, living daily beside Arceus, yet not evolving after all these years, and still daring to claim seniority?

Under this pressure from their descendants, they began evolving one after another.

First, Mareanie carrying Plague Bombs launched a surprise attack to maximally dismantle the enemy’s resistance measures, then Gyarados emerged to destroy their ships. Although Arceus had simpler methods, not everyone was worth his direct hand.

Such a reconnaissance ship, with two colossal Gyarados, is already giving them respect.

The effect of the Plague Bomb continued, with brief agony then the toxin would invade their central nervous systems, rendering their bodies inoperable due to rigidity. In this state, Gyarados’s Hyper Beam directly obliterated their ship.

As they fell into the water, the waves generated by Gyarados swept them into the deep sea. Yet, in the final moment, the captain still transmitted their intelligence.

This is one of the World Government’s foundations, their ability to cultivate people willing to die for them.

The lives of these people are their bargaining chips. Now having tested the waters, when costs and benefits misalign, they chose to withdraw directly.

After all, not even seeing a glimpse of Wano Kuni cost the destruction of a reconnaissance ship. From the video data transmitted back, the cost of a frontal assault on Wano Kuni was excessively high.

This also led to Sengoku’s order for Garp to retreat; the World Government had made its assessment.

The Navy is a forceful entity, yet also a subsidiary of the World Government. Large-scale actions require the World Government’s consent, as they are highly concerned with maintaining balance.

”The World Government’s orders should have been bypassed and transferred. Garp, provide support to Sakazuki and the rest.”
