Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 503: Chapter 502: The ”Split Personality” Magneton

He is a very unique example among the Divine Favorers. Due to being a Modified Person, he rarely trains his body, and although he developed some Observation Haki with the abilities of Electric-type Pokemon, he cannot use Armament.

In terms of defense, he relies entirely on his steel body and his Steel Attribute. People have different opinions on whether Haki or Devil Fruit is stronger, but top-tier abilities usually come with impressive body techniques.

Even Borsalino, who was directly called out by Zephyr for relying too much on his abilities, is the same. Scotch is not such a top-tier powerhouse, just a relatively high-ranking officer within the Hundred Beasts Pirates, but his ranking has been dropping as the new generation emerges.

Yet he is not dissatisfied with this. His primary targets are the newcomers just entering the New World from Paradise. With his abilities and special gear, he can handle most situations.

The new metals fused with Arceus Steel are used for his evolution.

The evolved form of Magnemite is called Magneton, as the name suggests, it’s three Magnemites combined.

There are two ways for Magnemite to evolve. One is through leveling up and using Pokemon’s power to evolve.

The other is when three Magnemites connect through Magnetic Force and merge into a new life form, which is Magneton, more suitable for Magnemites with slightly less talent.

Quality made up by quantity, when three Magnemites choose to merge, their combined power naturally meets the evolution requirements.

Aside from the displacement of magnets, Magneton only differs from Magnemite in quantity.

Scotch belongs to the type whose innate talent has reached its peak, and can only achieve evolution through this external force. As a long-term defender of an island, he is a typical example of having no major achievements but being an outstanding employee over time.

After the ranking battle on Ghost Island ended, he gained the qualification for this ability, but it was delayed due to some reasons, so it was prolonged until now.

During this period, he was busy renovating his house to facilitate post-evolution combat, he had to change his residence.

Because he previously resided in the factory area, and Magneton’s electrical power is three times that of Magnemite’s. Due to the intense magnetic force and voltage within his body, it will inadvertently emit a type of electrical wave that is highly destructive to machinery.

The more precise the machine, the greater the impact. There are weapon factories and hospitals here, filled with many precise instruments.

And Scotch usually enters a state of ability transformation for convenience in life. Not changing his residence could have a substantial influence.

During this time, he was preparing for a new home.

When Gable delivered those metals, Scotch sensed a particular aura from them. As his Magnetic Force interacted with it, the metals started to merge with his body, a whole new evolution was beginning here.

Originally, he wanted to see what Scotch would look like post-evolution, but just as Scotch began his evolution, the familiar alarm sounded at the island’s location, suggesting unauthorized entry, something that happens almost monthly, so most islanders are used to it.

From initially scrambling to evacuate, to calmly lining up to enter shelters, and finally to calmly drinking tea at home, this is the change that has occurred on the island over the years.

Because most alarms are just in case, less than half can break through the coastal defense cannons, and of that remaining half, less than one-tenth can threaten the island’s interior.

In these many years, only two Super Rookies have unexpectedly intruded into the interior, but they were quickly dealt with.

Walking along the road, Gable even saw an old man leisurely basking in the sun, and at the same time saw little Gable running over with a gun.

In more than ten years, his son has also grown up and became a member of the security team, contributing his strength to protect his homeland.

”Father, have you seen Lord Scotch? This group of pirates seems relatively strong, they are breaking through the coastal defense cannon lines, and he hasn’t responded since the alarm rang.”

This is how the island categorizes pirate strength, based not on bounty but on actual performance, and they inform Scotch only if the pirates break through the coastal defense artillery positions.

”He’s a bit busy now... first arrange for those nonchalant folks to evacuate, I’ll go check the front lines.”

With that, Gable moved little Gable to a safer location, and as for Scotch, he would naturally head over once his evolution was complete and he heard the alarm.

As soon as he finished speaking, the alarm above became intermittent, and Scotch, now with several magnets and two large eyeballs on his body, had already appeared.

”No need, I’m already here.”

The process of evolution wasn’t that complicated; as the special metals were absorbed, Scotch’s evolution was complete, just that the electric wave he emitted was affecting some devices, the alarm being an example.

Little Gable continued evacuating others, while he took Gable and flew towards the coast.

”Scotch, is this evolution?” Over the years he had become familiar with Scotch, and the formal titles were gone.

”Yes, the power of evolution is truly wonderful, my thoughts are particularly fluid now.”

Magneton doesn’t triple your intelligence, especially since Scotch is just an ability user, but post-evolution he gained different abilities, those two big eyes being an external manifestation. He not only possesses a broader vision but also the ability to multitask in his mind.

In battles at the same level, getting distracted can be fatal, but now Scotch is different, he can think about three things simultaneously without confusion. For instance, he can write three different reports concurrently, or play cards with himself when he’s bored.

This isn’t schizophrenia, but a capability resembling the division of consciousness inside spider types, creating two assistant body department heads and weapon department heads.

In battle, he can aim, charge, and grapple simultaneously, or trash-talk to distract opponents while preparing an ambush.

...

At the coastal defense cannon position, though the shells hadn’t been effective, they still hadn’t stopped the bombardment, even merely wearing down the opponent’s stamina was beneficial.

In his transformed state, without human arms, he used Magnetic Force to manipulate a metal telescope to his eyes and saw how the opponent was defending against the cannonballs: several swordsmen slashed them open.

”Swordsmen... unlucky fellows.”

Due to his abilities, he isn’t afraid of swordsmen, and while Scotch observes them, the people on the ship also observe Scotch.

”Captain, a weirdo came out, and he looks like an idiot writing numbers on himself!”
