Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 507: Chapter 506: Father and Daughter, Yamato Who Walked Into the Trap

Kaidou was undoubtedly not a qualified father, as evident from the outrageous actions he took while raising his daughter in his original timeline. Whether it was throwing her into the enemy’s midst or using explosive wristbands, these were not things a normal person would do.

However, on certain levels, he showed special care for this daughter. Even though she kept saying she wanted to become the idiot enemy who left a scar on him, Kaidou still taught her the things he himself had learned.

Thundering Hakken was his own martial art. If he hadn’t taught it to her intentionally, Yamato would never have learned it. Taking a beating and being taught a move through beatings are two different things.

The same goes for the Okuchi no Makami fruit. Although Yamato herself said she ate it unintentionally, and she didn’t want to consume the fruit, it was an extremely rare Mythical Zoan-type, and without Kaidou’s consent, Yamato would never have obtained this fruit.

He wasn’t a good father, and a distorted childhood led to unconventional thoughts, but even in those circumstances, he ensured Yamato had enough strength and, to some extent, respected her own opinions.

However, this strength was also something Yamato risked her life to achieve. One could say it’s all that Voldemort diary’s fault when the outrageous meets the outrageous, resulting in something even more extraordinary.

But things are different now. Although there’s a slight difference from what Kaidou expected, Yamato’s growth isn’t veering off course, and under Arceus’s enhancement, her strength is increasingly satisfying him.

The news spread faster than expected; before she and Queen returned to Wano Kuni, their wanted posters had already appeared.

Queen’s bounty reached 1.5 billion Belly, surpassing his original timeline peak. However, this 1.5 billion’s composition was quite complex, and due to Queen’s influence, Arceus’s bounty also increased to 2.88 billion.

Vegapunk, the Navy, and the World Government weren’t entirely on the same page; there were things he’d only vaguely mention.

The Hundred Beasts’ matters were becoming increasingly confusing to them, leading someone to devise a plan: regardless of who takes the blame, since they couldn’t deal with it for now, why not just raise both bounties together?

This resulted in such an outcome. In fact, the mechanized Genesect this time also had a bit to do with Queen; at the very least, he was the manufacturer of the external shell, even though the core technology was devised by Arceus. But he was still considered part of the process.

Of course, these weren’t the reasons for Kaidou’s happiness.

Ghost Princess - Yamato

Bounty: 170 million Belly

DEAD OR ALIVE

This wanted poster belonging to Yamato was the reason for Kaidou’s joy. He acknowledged that combat prowess determined value; although he knew the level of Yamato’s combat power intimately, it didn’t mean outsiders did too.

The wanted posters issued by the World Government were meant to hunt people down, but to pirates, they were a form of recognition. Yamato’s bounty indicated her strength had been acknowledged by enemies, which, in Kaidou’s view, was the most fitting expression of value.

”Guhahaha, 170 million, that’s even a hundred million more than what I had in my day.”

Even though Belly had inflated considerably since Kaidou’s youth, this was still a sizable amount. Getting a first bounty of over a hundred million was no easy feat; even Arceus’s first bounty was only 5000 Belly.

After Yamato met his expectations to a certain degree, he would still offer praise. The concept of combining education with entertainment from Arceus was something he had learned, and giving praise naturally followed the same principle.

However, Yamato was still in shock. Kaidou’s praise was something unheard of to her, and for a moment, she was even a bit moved, though the sentiment lasted less than a minute.

”Alright, Yamato, you’ve been out long enough. Let me see if your skills have declined, if you can still live up to this bounty.”

With that, Kaidou distanced himself from Yamato, and blue scale armor began to envelop his face.

”Wait! What are you doing, Father?!”

”Oh? Doesn’t seem like you’ll ask for leniency this time, right? Don’t forget, I’m a power-user too! Thundering... Hakken!”

Island Cloud shared similar properties with the land. After Kaidou struck it, Yamato confirmed this was indeed the genuine Kaidou, thereby ushering in another tortuous life in hell.

Below the Island Cloud, Ulti patted Page One underneath her.

”Let’s go, Page, that Yamato’s returned. Kaidou, that idiot, probably won’t have time to mind us. From the sounds of it, they seem quite happy.”

They could have descended long ago, but Ulti deliberately let Page One wait a bit longer just to hear that noise, or else she’d have felt unbalanced.

”Sister, it’s not appropriate to address Yamato as ’Sis’ and Kaidou as ’Captain’ like this.”

”Don’t worry about that; the entire family is strange. The most normal one is actually that white-haired godfather. Let’s go, let’s go. You don’t want Kaidou, that pervert, to drag you back, do you?”

”It was you who wanted me to wait..”

Despite the verbal complaints, Page One still took action, flying toward a ”safer” area.

Compared to being tormented by Kaidou, he would rather endure Ulti’s ravaging.

...

Yamato, walking into her own trap again, reentered the grueling training. The advantage of the airborne training ground was that earthquakes didn’t transmit to Ghost Island.

In Arceus’s office, Shaina appeared once again, here to report some matters and to apply for some items.

Actually, dealings with her weren’t very complex. Besides Kaidou and Yamato, obtaining something from Arceus wasn’t difficult; the Red Chain, specifically designed to counter other Pokemon, had been entrusted to her, which demonstrated Arceus’s trust.

However, she was very mindful of what she called rules, generally trying to avoid trouble unless necessary. Without suitable reasons, she wouldn’t apply for things out of personal preference. Now, she was respectfully reporting several issues.

For instance, the recent developments of the Arceus Sect, Sister Misu’s further refinement of the doctrine, and such.

”Lord Arceus, Sister Misu has a request.”

”What is it?”

”It’s about Rami, that girl. Although the treatment back then addressed the leftovers of the Platinum Lead disease, the lead had penetrated her bones, making it hard to remove completely with external force, and now it seems to be on the verge of relapse.”

People’s physiques differ; Misu experienced no issues, but Rami was clearly more affected.

”Misu has done considerable work over the years, and I’ve spoken with her about the issue of merits. If possible, could you grant Rami the ability of the Muk?”

This was the solution she envisioned to solve the problem at its root. The Alola Muk, which could dissolve and absorb Platinum Lead, clearly wasn’t afraid of it, so giving her similar capabilities would provide a permanent resolution.
