Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 517: Chapter 516: Hundred Beasts Proxy Shopping, Take a Look

As a versatile tool person, he often receives some strange tasks.

For instance, during the days when Arceus is not around, in order to handle the growing coral, he needs to create some underwater demolition equipment, otherwise, it would require sending in officers to properly deal with the situation.

Ordinary pirates, even with the help of Squirtle, can stand steadily in the seawater, but the resistance from the water makes it impossible for them to swing their hammers with full force, making progress extremely slow.

A machine capable of underwater demolition of coral isn’t hard to make; it’s mainly about considering waterproofing to avoid short-circuiting oneself. The hardness of those coral reefs hasn’t exceeded metal yet.

However, the first generation product he made did not get good feedback, so he started to improve the second generation. Once the product is ready, it needs to be used. He is only in charge of external business matters and internal research issues; the overall defense of Ghost Island is within Shaina’s work scope.

While cleaning coral may not count as a defense task, the people handling it are assigned by Shaina, as she is equivalent to Arceus’s secretary, so her office is just outside Arceus’s main office.

But now a large part of the ground here is occupied by Mareanie, so when he entered, he inadvertently stepped on a Mareanie.

”Doh-yi-deh!”

”Doh-yi?!”

”Doh-yi, doh-yi, doh-yi-deh!”

He always prided himself on his round figure, but this physique comes with a significant weight increase. Even if most of it is fat, he is still an overweight person.

The tentacles of Mareanie are dragging on the ground, and being stepped on by such a big blob, even if parts of them can regenerate, it would still be painful for Mareanie. Those things only look like hair; they need to manipulate tentacles to hunt, so naturally, there are sensory nerves for pain.

Creatures naturally retaliate when they feel pain, and although Queen’s soles are thick, his calves are exposed, which naturally triggered Mareanie’s attack.

He instinctively wanted to counterattack, but reason stopped him within 0.01 seconds. In that moment, his brain worked rapidly and made the most correct decision.

This is Shaina’s office, which also equates to Arceus’s office. When he came up earlier, he heard some gossip and knew that Arceus had already returned.

In such a scenario, an unfamiliar creature appearing in Arceus’s office indicates that it must have been created by Arceus.

Moreover, although the toxin released by Mareanie made him suffer briefly, it soon triggered the detoxification device in his body, which had no real impact.

So Queen did nothing but use Haki to ward off the Mareanie’s attack.

Mareanie’s venomous spikes have decent piercing power, but the Haki that Queen has been reinforcing over the years is equally formidable. Once he started defending, Mareanie couldn’t do anything against him.

Were it not for the enormous innate difference, he might have tried to claim the title of Steel Balloon after a few more years.

Then Queen did the wisest thing: he shouted for help while waiting for Arceus to handle these Pokemon.

”Alright, he didn’t do it on purpose, don’t hold a grudge against him.”

”Doh-yi-deh~” ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Under Arceus’s persuasion, the Mareanie gave up their entanglement with Queen and followed Shaina toward their cafeteria, namely the area where coral grows crazily outside; it was time for them to eat.

”Lord Arceus, could you let them give me more toxins? I think this toxin has a lot of development potential.”

That feeling of numbness followed by unbearable itchiness made him see the potential of Mareanie’s toxin. This highly torturous toxin is practically a weapon of war, and it might also be exceptionally effective during interrogation or torture in peacetime.

As for how he judged this, it was because it made an experienced person like him feel pain, indicating that the toxin was already qualified.

He felt that he had already offended the Mareanie group earlier; if it were like Weezing, he wouldn’t have to make this extra effort.

”Earlier when I returned, I saw Pierman. Go and ask him for some coral branches, and take those items to find the Mareanie; they will cooperate with you.”

The coral behind Corsola tends to fall off. As the user of Corsola’s abilities, Pierman inherited this characteristic, which is also Mareanie’s favorite food.

Except for some exceptions, Pokemon might be irritable and playful, but most are inherently simple, and bringing their favorite food is likely to resolve conflicts.

By rights, Pierman shouldn’t be here; he should be at Mandfeish. But since it was time for the transport of goods, Pierman returned to Ghost Island, carrying a procurement list.

This is a world still led by the World Government; pirates can’t acquire certain items through official channels, and the Black Market prices are extraordinarily high. However, Hundred Beasts provides this, as the Hundred Beasts Fruit serves another purpose as the purchasing center for Hundred Beasts pirates.

The Hundred Beasts regularly accumulates the items needed by members and then makes a unified purchase via the Hundred Beasts pirate group, charging an additional tax, from which only old members or officers are exempted.

Nowadays, Mandfeish also lives a respectable life, and although he has money, he still spends it sparingly.

However, recently is the peak period for pirate activities, so he has to stay on his territory, which is why Pierman is back for purchasing.

After finding the way, Queen went to look for Pierman, while the Mareanie had already crawled along the outskirts of Wano Kuni.

The suction-cup-like feet and spiky tentacles allow them to stay very stable in ocean currents, and those exposed corals begin disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye....

In Wano Kuni, there are also many people filling out their shopping lists, as this purchasing service is open to the internal staff of Wano Kuni. As long as someone in the household works for Hundred Beasts or knows someone who does, they can enjoy this service.

Due to Wano Kuni’s closed environment, the introduction of these imported goods relies solely on the Hundred Beasts.

In today’s situation where Hundred Beasts practically governs Wano Kuni, people not working for Hundred Beasts have become few and far between, even the loyal old followers of the Kozuki Family are the same, or else they would starve to death before their plan succeeds.

After all, Hundred Beasts’ definition of work includes but is not limited to working in fields, toiling in weapon factories, and a series of activities.

Even ordinary people can enjoy this purchasing service, let alone those who officially join the Hundred Beasts, such as the new leader of the Shinsengumi, Hotei.

He didn’t become the leader of the Shinsengumi because of his superior abilities but because he knows how to flatter.
