Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 524: Chapter 523: Kaidou’s Way of Finding People

”What are you planning to do?”

Looking at Kaidou starting to transform, Arceus asked him.

”Going to chat with that old man Whitebeard, ohohoho, I want to see if his fists are still as strong as they were back then. That guy is no fool; with this kind of information, he’ll definitely come looking for me.”

Whether Whitebeard has noticed or not, he just needs to test it to find out.

But given Kaidou’s understanding of Whitebeard, it’s impossible for him to remain indifferent. Instead of just waiting here, he might as well take the initiative to seek him out.

Whitebeard’s abilities have too much influence on the surrounding area. If that guy starts a war on his territory, years of construction would be completely wasted.

”Do you know where Whitebeard is?”

Unlike Kaidou and Charlotte Linlin, Whitebeard generally doesn’t have a fixed island where he resides. He always lives on the Moby Dick, Whitebeard’s flagship, which freely sails the sea and never stops.

”I don’t know, but those annoying flies outside know. They’ll tell me.”

As he spoke, Kaidou flew out to sea. The ”flies” he referred to were naturally those Navy surveillance ships. If the Hundred Beasts clash with Whitebeard, this matter cannot be hidden from anyone, so he didn’t plan to keep it secret.

While there are people monitoring him outside Wano Kuni, there are naturally Navy surveillance personnel near Whitebeard as well. To avoid wasting time, Kaidou decided to ask these people.

At this time, Yamato also crawled out from the ruins on the roof of Ghost Island, dusty and dirty.

”Father, did he go looking for a fight?”

”Probably, why?”

”I hope that guy is strong enough, so father can fight for ten days to half a month, then rest for a year or so because of injuries, so he won’t have time to torment me.”

Frequently tormented to exhaustion, Yamato expressed his ”blessings.” As for Kaidou dying in battle, Kaidou had successfully used his inhuman methods to make Yamato believe that this monster wouldn’t die.

Meanwhile, on the surveillance ship around Wano Kuni, the Navy on board reported the situation to Navy Headquarters as usual.

This position, though dangerous, is essentially a gamble of luck. Sometimes those Great Pirates won’t have any major activities for two or three years, so they can coexist peacefully as long as they regularly report information to receive high subsidies.

Seeing Kaidou’s figure through the telescope on the ship, the people didn’t feel particularly tense at first, just casually recording the information.

”Kaidou appeared, destination unknown...heading southeast.”

Saying this, he sipped his tea like a retired old cadre, but when he looked up again, his hand holding the teacup trembled uncontrollably. Kaidou’s massive figure remained in his view, except this time he saw Kaidou without the telescope’s observation port, directly with his eyes.

”Hey? Then where did that guy go?”

”Right...right in front of me...”

”What?!”

”Right in front of me! Enemy attack!!! Kaidou boarded the surveillance ship!”

Bang! Bang! Bang! Boom!

A series of gunshots rang out, and someone even pushed a cannon and fired at Kaidou point-blank. From this response speed, the soldiers on the surveillance ship were indeed well-trained, but they had an inherent disadvantage.

The attacks from these weapons felt like scratching an itch to Kaidou, having no effect at all.

”I’m not here to kill you; after all, you’re much quieter than the last bunch of idiots. Now tell me, where is that old geezer Whitebeard?”

Ignoring the nearby Navy, Kaidou found what seemed to be the officer on this surveillance ship, asking about Whitebeard’s location. Only they could consistently monitor the movements of each Great Pirate.

The previous batch of surveillance ships was too active and faced Kaidou’s attack, but he was quite satisfied with these current ones. To prevent eliminating them and having the Navy send even more annoying people, he decided not to kill them this time.

The Navy also had no intention of keeping Whitebeard’s whereabouts secret, quickly revealing the information they received from colleagues monitoring Whitebeard.

It wasn’t until Kaidou left that they tremblingly picked up the Radio Snail to continue reporting the situation.

”Major incident, Kaidou left Wano Kuni to search for Whitebeard, motive unknown...”

Upon receiving the message, Navy Headquarters became busy, including the World Government’s CP0 taking action. Kaidou already has mysterious ties with Charlotte Linlin, and Whitebeard is also a remnant of Rocks.

Although Rocks has disappeared for many years, these three have grown. Allowing these three monsters to join forces could lead to a disaster comparable to the Rocks Pirates.

The World Government needs balance; what they want is a chaotic New World. If these three join forces, they might truly unify all pirates of the New World, which isn’t what they want to see.

Even if Kaidou plans to fight Whitebeard, they have to consider how to handle the aftermath.

...

Some time later, on the Moby Dick.

The returning Izou and Fossa reported their observations.

”You mean your brother seems to have been coerced into joining the Hundred Beasts Pirates?”

”Yes, Father, I think Lord Oden might...”

Izou didn’t finish his sentence, but Whitebeard’s face was no longer smiling as before. He’s not someone who is brave without strategy; as a Great Pirate of the New World, even Charlotte Linlin has her intelligence online when she’s not having an episode.

Not to mention Whitebeard is the only current Sea Emperor who hasn’t fully delegated daily affairs. What Izou can think of, he can also think of.

”Did that little brat enter Wano Kuni...”

Whitebeard’s last impression of Kaidou was at Divine Valley. Since then, he hadn’t had direct exchanges with Kaidou, while also reminiscing about Oden’s past.

After parting ways, there’s been no news of Oden. The news of Oden returning to Wano Kuni was told by Roger. Although he didn’t know why Oden didn’t fulfill his promise to return, he respected the other’s choice.

Now it seems that after more than ten years of silence, something major might have happened to Kozuki Oden.

”Father, what should we do?”

”Yeah, Father, what happened to Oden, and what about Izou’s brother? We need to figure it out!”

Nearby pirates were concerned about Oden and Izou’s brother. These are the core veterans of the Whitebeard Pirates. Even newcomers were asking about who Oden was.

”Of course we have to take action; they’re our family. Boys, get ready to set sail!”

”Boom!”

Just as Whitebeard gave the order, there was movement on the deck. Something seemed to have fallen onto the deck, and as the dust settled, a figure emerged from it.

”Ohohoho, Newgate, long time no see.”
