Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 341: Chapter 340: When Others Suspect You Have a Deadly Weapon, You’d Better Really Have One

The time women spend bathing is generally longer than men, but this doesn’t apply to Yamato. In less than ten minutes, including dressing time, she came out of the bathroom.

From Maria’s expression, it was clear she felt she hadn’t washed thoroughly, but under Yamato’s pull, she was somewhat powerless.

”Father, where’s Jack?”

Her gradient hair of white, green, and blue hung wetly behind her back, simply tied with a leather strap. This hair color once made Arceus suspicious, especially considering Kaidou’s hair is purely black.

Particularly after meeting Kozuki Toki, some parts of their hair color were somewhat similar. If the timing hadn’t been off, Arceus might have suspected Kaidou of having been involved with Kozuki Toki during his disappearance.

”Dry your hair, at least wrap it with a towel. I should have told you.”

”It’s too troublesome, plus I’m really healthy, so it’s no problem.”

Most people can’t escape the torment of illness; even strong people like Whitebeard and Roger can’t avoid it. However, for someone with Yamato’s physique, common diseases are probably no match for her immune system.

”No means no. This time, let it pass, but the next time I see it, you’ll continue training with your father.”

As he spoke, a hot wind was released, drying her hair just right under his control. Sharing Yamato’s benefit, Maria also experienced the same feeling.

”Isn’t there a Rotom hairdryer? Remember to dry it next time.”

”Got it, Father. But where did Jack go?”

”Over there.”

Arceus gestured towards the sea, where a string of bubbles was emerging, evidence of Jack’s presence. Soon, a nose emerged from the sea, resting on the shore, and Jack in his Mammoth form climbed out of the water.

In the original timeline, the Human-Beast Form of the Mammoth Fruit ability was similar to Maria’s form, a semi-human mammoth. However, that form was probably a result of Queen’s drug enhancements.

Devil Fruit users can be modified in this way, but pure Pokemon Ability users can’t, so Jack’s Human-Beast Form resembles that of most ability users — a mammoth person.

”Pretty cool, right? It’s truly the power of Father.”

Yamato knocked on Jack, listening to the metallic muffled sound, and gave her opinion.

”But will this body make Kaidou hit even harder?”

Maria poured cold water on Jack, due to his defense-focused development direction. His main training method is taking hits. According to Kaidou’s peculiar tailored teaching theory, Jack suddenly felt his future seemed bleak.

”No worries, no worries. Either way, you’re bound to be exhausted half to death, so it doesn’t really make any difference.”

At this point, Yamato saw the bright side and expressed an irrefutable theory — that relaxing under Kaidou’s training is absolutely impossible.

”By the way, Father, the newspaper says that you and Father destroyed the entire...”

”West Kael.”

”Right, the West Kael Kingdom, is it true?”

After Jack accepted the harsh reality awaiting him, Yamato asked Arceus this question. However, she seemed to have forgotten the complicated country name, and Maria reminded her.

As for whether the country name is complex, it certainly seems so to her.

”No, only the capital and the King were destroyed. They touched something they shouldn’t have, and this was the inevitable consequence. Ohara was destroyed for the same reason; you lacked the power, but touched things you shouldn’t have.”

The latter half of this sentence was clearly not directed at Yamato, but at Robin. The extra ear in his blind spot couldn’t escape his perception.

”Come out, there’s no need to hide. If you have questions, you can ask them face to face.”

Unless she sees something strange firsthand, Yamato wouldn’t actively ask such questions. Over the years, they had established this kind of absolute trust.

This isn’t surprising. If parents are somewhat normal, children wouldn’t doubt what they say, even if they’re not biological children.

This was obviously done for others. The Flower-Flower Fruit is especially convenient for eavesdropping-type methods. As her ability strengthened, even without moving, she could gather information she wanted through extended limbs.

Before long, Robin came over. It looked like Yamato told her about this while bathing and promised to ask Arceus for answers.

As for why not ask Kaidou who returned first, Kaidou wouldn’t bother answering such questions, or his answer would probably be, ”Destroyed is destroyed. Why care? They were too weak.”

The kind of answer she’d get, so Yamato chose to wait for Arceus.

”Although not everything in the newspaper is true, your concern with this issue is related to the Buster Call, right?”

”Yes... Although you have managed this country well, outwardly you are so...”

”I didn’t need to answer your question, but since Yamato considers you a friend, I’ll say a little more. Everyone has their taboos, and they touched mine.”

Saying this, a stone slab was displayed in front of Robin. The archaeologists of Ohara had all seen pictures of the plates. Ohara’s identity doomed them to never align with the World Government, and in this aspect, there was no reservation.

”Anyone who covets my slab, regardless of reason, is unforgivable. Similarly, if you can find me information about it, you could also receive many things.

I never harm the innocent. The commoners of that nation had ample time to evacuate, but the Navy fabricated some things. You’re aware, of course, that back in the day, everyone in Ohara was considered ’lunatics trying to destroy the world.’

”We clearly weren’t...”

”This world is twisted. When others suspect you possess a world-ending weapon, you’d better truly have one. I heard you were a scholar at the age of eight, so you should understand this principle.”

Robin’s mindset growth may be slower due to her endless days on the run, but she understood the most basic principles.

”You explore history, but who can guarantee that the history from 800 years ago is the truth? History is written by the victors. There’s much for you to explore.”

Eventually, Arceus left first, as he had other things to do, but this further solidified Robin’s desire. She wanted to uncover the truth of the world, wanting to know what truly happened in the distant past.

But she didn’t have much time to ponder this issue, as Yamato quickly pulled her away.

”Let’s go, Robin. You got your answer, time to have some fun. It’s a rare holiday.”

”Huh?”

”Deal with the future when it comes. What can you do now by going out?”
