Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 324: Chapter 323: Ideals and Reality, Yamato’s Future Development

”As you wish, but be careful, finding such a powerful Mythical Zoan type isn’t easy.”

People never think they have too much wealth, and Kaidou naturally wouldn’t complain about having more capable subordinates. For Arceus, modifying a Devil Fruit is far less labor-intensive than modifying a person, which is why the Hundred Beasts have always been collecting Devil Fruits.

The existence of Ferren, the Thousand-Year Dragon, has already shown that modified forms and Devil Fruit abilities can coexist, and such a Mythical Zoan type naturally meets Kaidou’s needs.

However, Arceus was thinking about something else, something related to the power to be given to Yamato.

”Hey, Kaidou, do you remember the power we talked about giving to that girl Yamato?”

”Oh? Have you decided on what power to give her?”

”Not yet, but I have a temporary idea. Those sufficiently powerful Pokemon are revered as Divine Beasts. They are different from ordinary Pokemon; their combined attributes give them their strength.”

Kaidou pondered for three seconds, then took up the gourd at his waist and started drinking.

”I can’t understand what you’re saying, can you make it simpler?”

”Divine Beasts have their own representations: life, destruction, earth, ocean, sky, time, space... the concepts these represent relate to their powers. To want them to have complete power, these aspects can’t be omitted.

The creatures created aren’t just a single type of power or form, but a complete will. I could forcefully command my creations, but doing so wouldn’t unleash their true power.”

Simple modifications allow the use of a power right away, but the power of a Divine Beast is like that of a tailed beast, requiring their approval to unleash their full strength.

”So you mean there needs to be a trial for these powers, right?”

”That’s pretty much the idea.”

”So which one do you think suits Yamato?”

”I still need to observe, but I can roughly determine that it’s aligning with my expectations. After all, that power is unique. I want to try using Okuchi no Makami to create a new host.”

The topic had shifted to a stage where Kaidou didn’t understand, and this time he gave up, letting Arceus fiddle around freely.

The power of Pokemon is unique, even for a Divine Beast; Groudon and Kyogre being together without fighting is good enough, let alone simultaneously having their powers.

Unless they were originally one entity.

The power chosen by Arceus for Yamato wasn’t from an existing Divine Beast, but from the disassembled Dragon of Ideals.

Legend has it that a powerful Dragon-type Pokemon assisted two brothers in creating a new Unova Region. Later, due to a disagreement between the brothers, that powerful Pokemon split into two, becoming the True Dragon - Reshiram, and the Dragon of Ideals - Zekrom.

Exaggerating a bit, in another sense, this was a small Creator God, but quite different since it only altered an already existing region.

Their power is the only possibility for Divine Beast power to coexist. At the time of their split, Kyurem, this shell, was also born.

Reshiram and Zekrom represent will and power, and Kyurem represents the body. However, Kyurem’s nature is too unruly, so he’s planning to use the Draco Plate to modify Okuchi no Makami, allowing it to assume the form of an Ice Wolf Dragon as a new body.

At the same time, this body would carry ideals and reality, crafting a new Dragon of Ideals.

Yamato’s somewhat naive mindset is increasingly like Zekrom’s ideals. As for gaining the approval of the true Reshiram, he believes Yamato can do it.

Whether it’s the Power of the Evergreen or the Super Rookie’s physique, they all have intentions of preparation for this matter.

Ideals and reality aren’t inherently contradictory; only when they reach a balance can true beauty be realized. However, he’s currently working on something else.

Devil Fruits fear water, and artificial Devil Fruits fear water too.

In other words, an indispensable part of the artificial Devil Fruit, a material that carries the power of the Devil Fruit, is also what makes a person powerless in seawater.

What he aims to attempt is to retain the original power while eliminating that harmful substance. Previously, he lacked the strength, but now that his power has recovered significantly, he is starting this attempt.

...

A month passed in the blink of an eye. During this time, Yamato experienced what it meant to be in dire straits because Arceus hadn’t appeared for an entire month, and the consequence of that was Kaidou carrying out increasingly insane training.

Another familiar morning, Yamato opened her eyes on time and then looked at the Chansey-shaped wall clock, starting a countdown in her mind.

”5..4...3...”

She hadn’t even counted down to one when a surge of Supreme King Haki burst forth.

According to Kaidou’s theory, there is no specific way to train the Supreme King Haki. Since that’s the case, experience a stronger Supreme King Haki more often, and maybe it’ll make you stronger. Thus, Yamato would encounter the baptism of Kaidou’s Supreme King Haki every day.

In her current state, she naturally couldn’t withstand the impact of Kaidou’s Supreme King Haki and would faint every time. She wasn’t sure how long she was out, but upon waking, she would immediately alertly scan her surroundings.

The walls, the ceiling, and the floor provided her no safety; at that moment, a Kaidou could jump out from any place and ambush her. Her nerves were already stretched to their limit.

But none of this helped. Not only was her Supreme King Haki inferior, but her Armament and Observation Haki couldn’t compare to Kaidou’s either. Her partly developed and poorly mastered Observation Haki was directly ineffective against Kaidou.

Not until the afternoon would her battered body get a brief respite.

”Hmm, that Super Rookie physique really is useful. Now I can train you more rigorously.”

”Where did my surrogate father go? He’s been gone for a month, hasn’t he? How could he leave without a word?”

”He’s right on Ghost Island, just too busy to bother with you. He’s occupied with other matters now. But first, congratulations, you’ve passed the first stage of your training.”

Hearing this from Kaidou, a hint of joy appeared between Yamato’s brows.

”Is the training over?”

”Of course not. This means we’re starting the second round of training!”

Another month passed, and two months later, she finally saw Arceus again.

His experiment was successful, but now this task was too exhausting for him.

What he had done, in simple terms, was use a steel wire to extract all the Dragon Fruit Seeds from a hole without destroying the structure of the Dragon Fruit.

Moreover, the fruit pulp wasn’t mangled into mush, and the seeds remained unharmed.

This primarily relied on the power of the Pixie Plate and Dread Plate. If he also had the Ghost and Psychic-type Plates, this task would be much easier.

Until he found more Plates, he wasn’t planning on undertaking such labor-intensive tasks again.
