Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 340: Chapter 339: Copperajah and ”Bottom-Sinking” Jack

During this period, Kaidou indeed did not allow them any rest. According to Kaidou’s theory, in the time he was away, they had already rested enough. This was essentially a pre-expenditure of their vacation.

Thus, they spent most of this time enduring the burning flames. To control the power and range of the fire, Kaidou even brought in Emboar and conscripted Kojiro’s dogs.

This turned the little card from a leisurely harem life back into a working dog. The breeding speed of Pokémon and ordinary animals is relatively slow, but Kojiro’s dog guard team has already started forming.

The most common breed is the Akita dog. Compared to ordinary dogs, they have slightly superior physical qualities, sense of smell, and intelligence. Occasionally, a rare individual might even spew a little black smoke or flame, albeit at a very low rate.

Now that Arceus has returned, they once again have a long-lost vacation. In a certain sense, human potential is limitless. Originally exhausted, Yamato quickly regained her strength under the dual blessings of the Super Newcomer and Okuchi no Makami.

Very soon, she had the strength to get back up. However, this also planted a hidden danger for her. Even though Kaidou stopped the training, his gaze still lingered here.

”This girl’s recovery is faster than I imagined. Seems like I can increase the intensity of the training a bit more.”

After flexing his wrist, Kaidou looked at the helping Emboar nearby.

”Come on, little guy, let’s have some practice.”

There aren’t many who can call Emboar a ’little guy,’ but Kaidou is one of them. However, Kaidou’s words left Emboar perplexed.

”Uwaa?”

It was supposed to help out, but the outcome seemed as though it had become the sacrificial victim.

...

”Godfather, why did you leave for so long this time?”

”I just took a detour to visit some islands along the way, but it seems you’ve been doing quite well.”

”Not true at all! Father comes up with all sorts of strange ideas every day. If you hadn’t come back, you might really not have seen me again.”

”That guy has some sense of proportion. Go take a bath first; you’re filthy.”

”That’s because of Father’s training...”

Saying this, Yamato started to accuse Kaidou of his deeds. Apart from the basic training and the usual enhanced training, her subjects now also included control over her own abilities, resistance to flames, and sparring with Setsuna.

Because currently, Okuchi no Makami’s main body is still a wolf, there’s no difference between the Human-Beast Form and the Werewolf. As a wolf pelted Setsuna, she is more familiar with how a werewolf’s body should fight. Lucario made up for her weakness in close combat, even helping her develop the usage of Aura Arrows.

Now, apart from special Seastone Arrows, normal arrows have been abandoned with her.

While her strength is not as great as Kaidou’s, she has a more unique understanding of the weaknesses and strengths of werewolves.

Although Setsuna’s special training isn’t exceedingly tough, when stacked with Kaidou’s training, it amounts to an extremely terrifying load.

”Go on, you can rest for the remainder of the day, and I’ll let you rest tomorrow as well. I’m off to prepare abilities for Jack, while you and Maria get yourselves cleaned up.”

”Hooray!”

No student would complain about having too many vacations, especially when their teacher goes by the name Kaidou.

Yamato and Maria went into the cadre’s bathroom on the top floor, while Jack was directly taken to the seaside of Ghost Island.

”Originally, your ability would have to wait a bit, but Mandfeish accelerated this process.”

Arceus was referring to the Iron Plate. There aren’t many elephant-like Pokémon, and many just look similar; essentially, they’re just pigs.

Copperajah’s stats are not exceptionally outstanding, but its bronze-composed body offers much greater resistance than flesh and blood creatures. Jack’s development route is becoming clearer and clearer; he is obviously a defensive type.

Although not particularly fast, his stamina and strength are excellent. His main battle strategy involves defensive counterattacks. The immense strength contained in Copperajah’s trunk also suits Jack’s fighting style well.

With that trunk, Copperajah and Gigalith have always been good helpers in human mines. Compared to ordinary elephants, Copperajah’s trunk is wider, and the scoop-like structure at the front end allows for many unique applications.

Moreover, Jack also has a fondness for elephants. The only downside would be that Copperajah’s tusks are a bit short, but with some honing, they can still be used as sharp weapons.

”Brother Mandfeish...”

Due to Mandfeish’s abilities similar to those of a fish-man, he and Jack get along quite well. Excluding any consideration of power factors leading to worship and respect, Jack has the deepest feelings for Mandfeish.

”Alright, get ready to receive your ability.”

For the first time since the Iron Plate re-entered his body, it showcased its power. The genetic data belonging to Copperajah started entering Jack’s body bit by bit, slowly transforming his original body.

When the transformation was complete, Jack’s height had also increased slightly.

”You can feel it, right? Channel that power. Accepting its transforming power will allow you to use it as well.”

”Understood.”

Saying this, Jack’s body also began to change. A bronze color enveloped his skin, embedded with what appeared to be signs of patina, forming patterns similar to those on Copperajah’s body.

A copper elephant man wrapped in heavy armor thus appeared before Arceus. The collision of his two fists produced metallic clanging sounds, and even the ground beneath his feet sank by several centimeters.

”Jack, try going into the water.” This was the reason they brought Jack to the sea. Copperajah is not afraid of water; its bronze skin even has strong resistance to water.

However, there’s another problem—it is incredibly heavy. Although it’s not afraid of water, what state it’ll be in once in the sea is still an unknown, which is why Jack was brought to the seaside.

For fish-men, swimming is as simple as breathing, but Jack, maintaining his empowered form in the water, encountered a problem. Although he could still float on the surface, it was a lot more strenuous than in his normal state.

”Lord Arceus, I can still swim, but it’s slightly more effortful.”

”Try changing to Beast Form.”

”As you command.”

In the water, Jack changed his form into that of a complete Copperajah, then... he sank to the bottom. Although he could walk and move without losing strength, he couldn’t float up.

This is the complete opposite of Mandfeish. He can only operate underwater by using his abilities, while his fish form swims the fastest. Meanwhile, Jack can swim in his Human-Beast Form, but in Beast Form, he would directly sink. However, his fish-man racial talent made him not care much about this.

In fact, this could even better facilitate his bottom-sinking tactics. He’s still small now, but as he grows, the transformation size will also larger. Eventually, a multi-ton metal giant elephant would grapple with enemies underwater, which would be a terrifying situation for non-aquatic species. For them, it would be almost catastrophic.
