Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 301: Chapter 300: Your Oden Is Already Dead

After removing Fugetsu Omusubi and Shimotsuki Ushimaru, the remaining daimyo are Uzuki Tempura and Shimotsuki Yasuie, whose strength is similar to that of Fugetsu Omusubi.

However, Shimotsuki Yasuie is different. Although he is part of the same main family as Shimotsuki Ushimaru, if Shimotsuki Ushimaru is the strongest daimyo, then Shimotsuki Yasuie is the exact opposite.

Among the daimyo of Wano Kuni, he is definitely at the bottom, and even Elizabeth alone is enough to handle him.

Although Elizabeth also ate those poisonous foods, the toxins were completely useless against the Snake Monster Lizard. Instead, due to the toxins, those bland foods gained some spiciness.

The reason Olga could happily slack off was not because Uzuki Tempura was weak, but because of the unique national conditions of Wano Kuni.

On the Grand Line, with its many islands, every nation has its own characteristics, leading to differing developments in martial power, such as the Heart Net on Sky Island.

The Heart Net is Sky Island’s term for Observation Haki. Enel, by leveraging his Rumble-Rumble Fruit abilities, took Observation Haki to the extent of listening to others’ heartbeats.

However, he wasn’t the only one with this skill; some Priests under him also mastered Observation Haki. But nobody on Sky Island could use Armament Haki.

Wano Kuni, in contrast, calls Armament Haki ”Ryuo,” and powerful samurai often possess this ability. However, Observation Haki is quite rare in Wano Kuni, and those who have never left the country mostly don’t have it.

The one with the most outstanding Observation Haki in Wano Kuni was Oden, who had set sail before. Not only did he awaken his abilities, but he could also listen to the voices of all things. At Zou, the voice of the elephant lord faintly entered his mind.

Under his tutelage, some Household Attendants also mastered Observation Haki, but Uzuki Tempura did not. Never leaving Wano Kuni, he always stayed at Udon and did not understand Observation Haki.

Facing Olga, those who do not understand Observation Haki are powerless. Thus, Uzuki Tempura initially faced not Olga but Kozuki Oden’s Household Attendants.

Although they had been roughly taught some Observation Haki by Kozuki Oden, their level wasn’t enough to wake Uzuki Tempura.

With his pain being deceived, Uzuki Tempura’s attacks were hard for them to handle, making them hesitate and giving Olga a chance to slack off.

As for the others there, it was better if they didn’t come close; coming made things worse. Humans wouldn’t spontaneously learn sarcasm, but if one were to seek out the most perverse among the current members of the Hundred Beasts, Olga would definitely be at the top.

Shaina learned her sarcasm from this. Since the goal had been achieved, she openly began slacking off.

”Lord Tempura, the enemies are over there!”

”Damn it... it’s impossible to get close to that woman.”

Without resolving Uzuki Tempura, they couldn’t approach, and without approaching, Uzuki Tempura’s problems couldn’t be solved. The situation seemed to fall into a deadlock, growing increasingly unfavorable, until Ashura Doji made a choice.

Faced with a sword thrust from Uzuki Tempura, he chose not to evade and instead let it pierce his arm. Once called the Monster of Kuri, he was the strongest among Oden’s Household Attendants.

He then stabbed Uzuki Tempura’s arm in return, controlling him at the cost of both being wounded.

”Kikunojo, Raizo, think of a way... deal with that woman, I’ll suppress Lord Tempura!”

Kikunojo and Raizo were about to act when suddenly, the entire hall seemed to fall silent. At the breach in the wall, Kaidou walked in, holding Enma and Ame no Habakiri.

Most halted their fight, looking toward Kaidou, yet Queen continued his barrage.

”Hoo ho ho, Olga, do you still enjoy playing such games? Dispense with the illusions.”

”Understood, Captain.”

With the removal of Olga’s abilities, Uzuki Tempura discovered the enemies before him were indeed Oden’s Household Attendants, leading him to cease resisting. Kaidou casually tossed Enma and Ame no Habakiri forward.

”Kozuki Oden is already...”

”Boom!”

”Kozuki Oden is already....”

”Crash!” A collapsing beam of the building fell, leaving Kaidou covered in pebbles. Unlike most wooden structures, this palace used quite a bit of stone material.

”Queen, you rascal, quiet down!”

After throwing a small stone to quiet the scene, Kaidou finally spoke his piece.

”Kozuki Oden is dead. Does anyone here want to surrender?”

”No... impossible, Lord Oden couldn’t... Lord Oden couldn’t possibly die here!” Ashura Doji roared angrily, unwilling to believe it, yet tears streamed down as he denied Kaidou.

Enma and Ame no Habakiri were Kozuki Oden’s swords; there was no mistaking those swords. Given that, them ending up in Kaidou’s hands could only mean Oden had fallen in battle, a truth Ashura Doji struggled to accept.

Most of Oden’s Household Attendants shared the same reaction as Ashura Doji.

”Raizo, Kikunojo, hurry back and escort Lady Toki away. I’ll hold them off even if it costs me my life....”

In his grief, Ashura Doji again picked up his weapon. Unlike the other Household Attendants, he acknowledged only Kozuki Oden, not the entire Kozuki Family.

With Kozuki Oden having perished, Ashura Doji saw no reason to retreat; dying here in battle was his end.

”Go, quickly!”

Yelling at them again, Ashura Doji got Kikunojo and Raizo to move. Just as Queen was about to attack the escaping Kikunojo and Raizo, Kaidou stopped him.

”Big Brother Kaidou, what are you doing? Letting them go?”

”Yamato needs a target, some vengeful enemy remnant. What’s better than this lot?”

Explaining his action, Kaidou glanced at Ashura Doji’s heroic expression once more.

”Interesting eyes, I admire you. Want to join me? And the rest of you, as the daimyo of each region, you don’t want to die here, do you?”

No one answered Kaidou, only blades charging at him in response.

”I see.... I understand now. Subdue them, try to capture them alive. Olga, stop slacking; as a leading figure, you can’t just watch.”

With the captain’s arrival, Olga’s slacking had come to an end, and Kaidou focused on the determined Ashura Doji before him.

”Foolish like Oden, yet your eyes aren’t bad. I grant you the right to challenge me.”
