Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 336: Chapter 335: This Table Seems a Bit Suspicious

This island has more than one port. This team of Navy soldiers landed from another port, and now they are armed and surrounding the port where the pirate ship is docked. Meanwhile, a warship has also pulled into the port.

”Those pirates are in for a bad time; it seems like this Navy team is targeting them.”

This clearly was a well-prepared ambush, and it looks like they had been under watch for a while.

”Serves them right for being so brazen.” To openly dock a pirate ship sporting a pirate flag at an island’s port, even if it’s under the flag of a Non-Adhering Country, could still attract the Navy.

Whether or not they get captured depends entirely on the interest of the leading officer; if it were an Adhering Country, the situation would be more complex.

Even they hide their ships in secluded places offshore to avoid unnecessary trouble. The behavior of these pirates in Paradise made them seem too showy.

”Not necessarily, some of the recruits in recent years are quite remarkable. The ones in trouble could very well be the Navy instead. A mere Navy junior admiral—anyone who doesn’t know might think he’s a full admiral.”

A headquarter junior admiral is still considered a basic level officer in The Sea, with many such officers forming the foundation of the Navy’s command system.

This level of Navy doesn’t even register with them. Although they may not be a match for them, they are not the leaders of their crew. To take them down, it would at least require a headquarter Vice Admiral leading the charge, and only those monster-level Vice Admirals at that.

”Forget it, it has nothing to do with us. Let’s hurry up and replenish our supplies, they can fight if they want to.”

With that, they continued toward the town’s defenses, taking out a Radio Snail along the way.

”The weather’s not great; a seagull just flew by, but it wasn’t big.”

Radio Snails aren’t rare resources, as the snails used to make them are widely available across The Sea, and those with good hands-on skills can even make their own Radio Snails manually.

Moreover, components and accessories for Radio Snails have formed an industrial chain. The necessary parts are cheap and can be found on any not-so-remote island.

As for taming them, that’s not a problem. This species’ greatest interest is finding a human to take care of them in exchange for a laid-back life.

It’s not unusual for civilians to use Radio Snails, but emphasizing the Navy makes it odd. After all, normal people don’t concern themselves with the Navy’s whereabouts. When encountering situations outside, they use this method to relay messages, just in case of eavesdroppers.

Seagull refers to the Navy, and ”not big” indicates a non-threatening individual. Saying this, they continued on the path to acquire supplies.

The Navy, tasked to capture pirates, didn’t achieve much. Even though they caught that pirate ship, only a few pirates left on guard were on board.

”Junior Admiral Dorlo, from the captured pirates, we learned that the rest of the crew went to a village on the eastern side of the island.”

An island doesn’t just have one village; habitable plains have several villages and towns scattered about. The village on the island’s east is also a relatively prosperous residential area.

”Junior Admiral Dorlo, it seems they left not long ago. What should we do?”

”Isn’t it obvious? We’re the Navy, partners of justice. Of course, we’ll bring those pirates to justice. Everyone, set out and wipe out those pirates!”

Saying this, he took out a handgun and finished off a few captured pirates. He had no intention of keeping these ordinary pirates alive.

This group of Navy soldiers and the previous Hundred Beasts procurement team missed each other. The pirates from Hundred Beasts headed to the town in the island’s center, where trade is more convenient. Although prices might be higher than village surroundings, the variety of goods is more comprehensive.

They needed to replenish not only food and fresh water but also tobacco and alcohol, medicine, and some gunpowder-making materials as essential supplies.

...

When these pirates returned to their gathering point with supplies, they did not see Shaina.

”Where’s Big Sis? Why is she not here?”

”Big Sis always scouts the whole island whenever we reach a new one. Have you forgotten? We’ll probably be here overnight.”

Watching the sun begin to set down the hill, several pirates started to set up camp and build a fire. Being able to rest on land was a nice change; although the ship cabin was spacious, their bunks were double-deck, with only the officers getting private rooms.

On land, they could find more spacious places to rest a bit more comfortably.

As for when Shaina would return, it wasn’t their concern. Even if they were all together, they were not a match for Shaina.

”Let’s go, that pot of soup needs more time to stew. Let’s explore the nearby forest. Who knows if we might find something left by Lord Arceus. Mandfeish stumbled upon something while just delivering goods; I refuse to believe my luck’s that bad.”

Following Shaina’s routine, she starts exploring from a distance, leaving nearby areas to her subordinates. Afterward, she returns to fill in any gaps. However, it’s proven hard to replicate the luck Mandfeish had.

They didn’t find the Plate, but they did manage to bring back a wild boar.

”What did you bring that thing back for? The meat’s tough and hard to eat.”

”Testing your cooking skills, maybe you can make it taste decent. But by the way, is there a fireworks show around here?”

”Haven’t heard of one. This isn’t some tourism island with those kinds of events. Haven’t you had enough of Ghost Island’s fireworks?”

”Not really, it’s just that there’s a big fire to the east, looks quite lively.”

After those who went exploring said this, the camp suddenly fell silent.

”Did Big Sis... go to the east too?”

”Does Big Sis... frequently use fire?”

The group of pirates exchanged glances, then all got up simultaneously and ran in that direction. Although they might not be able to help, they could at least secure the area.

...

In the village on the island’s east side, Shaina found herself inexplicably caught up in some trouble. She just wanted to stroll around the village. Mandfeish’s experience showed that although others couldn’t utilize the Plate’s power, they could still use them in other ways.

Like using them as a table, a grindstone, or even repairing them into houses. Thinking this way, the difficulty of exploration increased significantly.

So she was merely wandering the village with a radar, but inexplicably encountered a group of pirates. These pirates had nothing to do with her, as she was always indifferent to such unrelated international affairs.

It was a character trait formed from a past life of fleeing. Getting involved would easily endanger herself, but as the pirates started looting, a great fire suddenly surrounded the village.
