Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 305: Chapter 304: What Made You Think I’m Afraid of Seastone?

The bodies of the Geodude are entirely composed of rock. Those formed in the unique environment of Wano Kuni even contain Seastone components. As one of the hardest substances, typical attacks can’t harm them at all.

Bullets hitting them are like a painless itch, akin to someone tossing a handful of peas; even a scraping would be more painful. But that so-called Hell’s Zither...it’s not even as good as the scraping.

To enhance the concealment of the weapon, the Imperial Court Guards known as Jigokuten have hidden firearms inside the zither, which remains fully playable, resulting in a reduction of the firearms’ power.

Although it retains firing speed and ammo capacity, the bullets’ damage is remarkably low, far inferior to standard firearms, and even the lethality against ordinary people is quite low.

When they hit the Seastone bodies of the Geodude, they seem insignificant, and these Geodude have sharp edges, a sign of youth in their species.

Young Geodude usually have short tempers. Although they aren’t hurt, having peas thrown at their faces in such a manner is intolerable, and since these people triggered the alarm, naturally, the Geodude retaliated.

Without any flashy attacks, they used their hands to drum the ground to propel their charge, the leading Geodude began its power tackle.

A power tackle is a simple fierce blow, yet the angular Seastone body can deal significant damage. To the Geodude, there is no distinction between male and female; although Jigoku Benten is female, she’s less appealing than a rock in their eyes.

Meanwhile, the other Geodude were not idle. A group of prisoners who had just walked out of their rocky prison cell were driven back by Rock Slide from the Geodude, losing their courage to resist upon seeing the open space left behind.

Because as soon as the Geodude executed Rock Slide again, all these people would be buried alive inside. They couldn’t understand the Geodude language, but the threat was obvious enough.

And the alarm blaring from here naturally reached the ears of Babanuki at the gate.

”Damn it... you guard here! A few of you, with me! It will be a real headache if those guys manage to break out!”

Their assault hadn’t brought them close to the gate of Udon for the whole day; although there weren’t any strong defenders, the firepower level was consistent everywhere.

However, among the prisoners in the prison, there were some capable pirates, and the biggest concern was allowing them to break free.

Fortunately, the keys were always on him, and it was unlikely too many could escape. Thanks to advanced production techniques, even the lock cores of Seastone Handcuffs in Wano Kuni were made of Seastone, making prying them open a major endeavor.

Additionally, with the obstruction from the Geodude, only over a hundred managed to escape, and only about a dozen had their handcuffs unlocked.

”Kill them!”

It seemed a large group of labor force would be lost today, yet in Babanuki’s estimation, the numbers here would be replenished in a few days; this group would serve as adequate examples today.

”That one is the warden! The key is in his hand!”

Upon seeing Babanuki rushing over, a prisoner shouted excitedly. None of them wanted to keep mining here, even those with sentences desired a swift exit; tonight was the perfect opportunity.

Upon hearing this, both the prisoners who had their handcuffs unlocked and the Imperial Court Guards looked towards Babanuki.

The Imperial Court Guards wanted to release more prisoners, while those pirate prisoners realized that this few people were insignificant before the Beast Pirates, so they also wanted to free some additional hands.

They temporarily formed a united front, all looking towards Babanuki’s direction, but they first had to face a barrage of fire, wielding large-caliber revolver machine guns forming an impenetrable web of firepower.

They weren’t like the Geodude; few people could withstand such bullet rain. Then, those ninja pulled out some strange items from their robes.

”Ninja Technique: Smoke Escape Technique!”

Dense smoke spread across the quarry grounds; although called a Smoke Escape Technique, it was merely a specialized smoke bomb. The smoke bomb was their sole chance to approach the enemy.

The massive smoke obscured vision. Although the pirates continued shooting blindly, the hit rate drastically dropped without a clear view, and the mined huge stones inside the quarry became covers for these people.

Ultimately, they breached through to their side, the sound of chains clattering in Babanuki’s ear, an iron chain thrown, winding around his arm.

”Ha ha ha ha, you’re a Devil Fruit user, aren’t you! Taste your own Seastone Chains!”

Most prisoners were aware of Babanuki’s abilities, and with such abundance of Seastone products here, they pieced together the chains using their Seastone handcuffs.

Due to ample funds, even the ordinary people used Seastone handcuffs.

”Suffer your own consequences, Beast scum! I will definitely take Kaidou’s head!”

With a maniacal laugh, a pirate swung a blade at Babanuki’s neck, only to be caught midair by a gorilla’s arm.

”Do you really think you can challenge boss Kaidou with your skills? How naive, fool.”

”No... impossible! You’re a Devil Fruit user, shackled by Seastone! How can you still use your abilities?!”

Watching Babanuki complete his transformation while bound by Seastone Chains left the pirate astounded, challenging his understanding of common knowledge.

”Who ever told you I was afraid of Seastone?!”

Babanuki headbutted his opponent; though the Slaking had an indolence trait, this trait allowed it to accumulate enormous strength, and the same applied to Babanuki who harnessed Slaking’s power.

Though his attack frequency was low, even necessitating a Gun-Switching Mode to maintain mobility, each strike was immensely powerful. Under his headbutt, the pirate who was so boastful moments ago fell silent.

Releasing his transformed state, he grabbed the chain with one hand. Even without transformation, possessing Machamp’s Monster Strength Technique, he commanded terrifying strength.

”I am the Divine Favorer blessed with perfect power by Lord Arceus. Perfect power does not come from Devil Fruit, but from divine grace, and Seastone has never been our weakness!”

Seizing the chain with his other hand, the Seastone Chain intended to bind him became his weapon, and amid his monstrous swings, tormenting cries echoed through the smoke...
