Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 302: Chapter 301: Kurozumi Orochi’s 8 Ways to Die

Although anger can unleash greater strength in him, it cannot bridge the gap in combat power. If mere anger could defeat Kaidou, Kaidou would have failed countless times.

Ashura’s attempt to stop was meaningless. If Kaidou hadn’t wanted to train Yamato in the future, Ashura Doji would only have managed to buy a few seconds.

Faced with Ashura Doji’s attack, Kaidou didn’t even use Protect; merely the Haki on his body surface blocked Ashura Doji’s strikes, and then he treated him the same way he did Kozuki Oden.

He had some interest in Ashura Doji, but from his eyes, he saw the will to die, similar to Kozuki Oden. Such people cannot be recruited, dying in battle is the fitting fate for warriors like him.

And so, Ashura Doji died at the hands of Kaidou, which was more fitting than surviving for twenty years in Wano Kuni, only to die in a bomb strengthened in version 2.0.

Queen’s bombardment had knocked down Fugetsu Omusubi, and under the supervision of the big boss, Olga stopped slacking off and took down Uzuki Tempura too. Elizabeth’s battle ended quickly; only King continued fighting Shimotsuki Ushimaru for practice.

Seeing this, Kaidou did not interfere in King’s battle but turned his gaze to Shaina, who had just flown down from the third floor.

”Where’s Arceus? Is he still handling Kurozumi Orochi?”

”No, the Holy Beast Lord left here long ago, heading toward Miss Yamato. Kurozumi Orochi was cleaned up early on.”

”I expected as much.”

Upon arriving here, he hadn’t sensed Arceus’ presence. At that time, he already had a rough guess, and now it seemed his suspicions were confirmed.

”How did Orochi die?”

”Well... due to his Fruit Ability, he had more than one life, so he experienced many ways of dying...”

As the Snake-Snake Fruit, Mythical Zoan type, the Yamata no Orochi form of the Devil Fruit did not perform so poorly. However, its user was a weakling,

Aside from granting the ability to have eight lives, he did not develop any other abilities belonging to the Mythical Zoan category. For Arceus, this was just a matter of killing him several times.

”Muwahaha, his ability does seem convenient, at least he fulfilled his value. Alright boys, it’s time to end this war! Before daylight, I want to see a brand new Wano Kuni!”

”Oh!” Kozuki Oden’s death greatly boosted the morale of the Hundred Beasts. Kaidou refrained from attacking the minions, merely watching his subordinates and them wage war. Their heightened spirits portrayed an unquestionable stance of victory.

”Mr. Kaidou, according to the Holy Beast Lord’s request, I shall go arrange other matters.”

”Go ahead, handle those matters as you wish.”

”Olga, follow me.”

Shaina led Olga to act according to the previous plan, while Kaidou proceeded in another direction.

.....

At this point, rewinding time, it was shortly after the battle between Kaidou and Kozuki Oden began, with thunder and flames paving a smooth path for Arceus, preventing Kurozumi Orochi from escaping Arceus’s grasp no matter what.

”Why, what have I done to offend you?”

Cornered, Kurozumi Orochi couldn’t understand. From the first encounter, these people wanted him dead, despite cooperating with the Hundred Beasts Pirates for years in Wano Kuni, they still showed no signs of stopping.

”For deceiving me about the Plates, it’s an unforgivable sin worthy of death. Do you think a mere shapely slab could deceive me?”

Only then did Kurozumi Orochi realize the root of the matter. But even without this issue, his fate would have been the same, even if there was only Kaidou, he wouldn’t willingly be just a collaborator. Only by fully controlling Wano Kuni could its full potential be unlocked.

He had no intention of wasting words on Kurozumi Orochi. With a casual stomp, a line of stone spikes shot towards Kurozumi Orochi, although Kurozumi Higurashi had been dispatched, Kurozumi Semimaru stayed by his side, showing Kurozumi Orochi’s valuing of his own life.

The barrier that appeared blocked Arceus’ Stone Edge attack, which seemed to give Kurozumi Orochi some confidence.

”Hahaha... you can’t kill me, with the Barrier-Barrier Fruit here, even that madman Kozuki Oden can’t break through this barrier!”

But reality cut his pride short, lasting less than 10 seconds, and the next moment he heard a scream as Kurozumi Semimaru was engulfed by flames, becoming a man of fire.

Breaking the Barrier-Barrier Fruit’s barrier was challenging, but he could bypass the barrier to directly eliminate Kurozumi Semimaru.

The barrier fruit only blocked attacks, air flowed as usual, otherwise, people inside would suffocate; this indicated energy could also pass through the barrier, allowing Arceus to attack through it.

With Kurozumi Semimaru dead, naturally, no other remained to uphold the barrier for Kurozumi Orochi.

He did not indulge in listening to others’ pleas. Thus, the flame vortex extended its range after killing Kurozumi Semimaru, enveloping Kurozumi Orochi within it as well.

Burned to charcoal, Orochi seemed truly dead, lying motionless, but such tricks did not fool Arceus, the ability that should have preserved his life had turned into his greatest flaw.

Experiencing agony that regular people endure once, he endured eight times, taking attacks with eight attributes, Kurozumi Orochi disappeared from the world. Subsequently, Arceus paid no heed to the battle inside Flower Capital Palace and walked out instead.

...

On the outskirts of Flower Capital, in Yamato’s locale, the Hundred Beasts Pirates and Samurai launched a street fight.

However, unlike normal protection, the entity the Hundred Beasts Pirates sought to protect charged to the front, those Samurai couldn’t withstand under Archen’s assault.

Nearby Give Users gradually gathered, eventually with Mandfeish leading an elite team here, breaking the original stalemate. Witnessing this area completely dominated by the Hundred Beasts, Arceus felt assured in leaving.

Wano Kuni’s battle was not limited to these areas. In the Hakumai Region, conflicts erupted as well, just the main actors were not Samurai but rabble, as the great war commenced, many previously quiet rabble of Wano Kuni began to loot.

Many rich merchants were plundered, but they were not satisfied, targeting the wealthiest group in Wano Kuni undoubtedly—the Hundred Beasts Pirates.

Afraid to enter Flower Capital, they targeted the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center, and there, they experienced the terror of the pink devil.
