The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong shook her head helplessly upon thinking of this.

Taking advantage of the waiting time at the red light, she turned to look at Fu Yu, who was sitting in the passenger seat, clearly showing signs of exhaustion.

In fact, Xiaofu was quite good too.

He could be considered a promising talent.

As for his family background...

The Liu Family didn’t really care about that.

After all, as long as she was around, Liu Yuqing’s task was just to eat well, drink well, and live happily.

As for Fu Yu, they were already in the same circle, so with her well-known reputation and massive family business, couldn’t she assist her brother-in-law?

Thinking this way, it seemed like everything wasn’t a problem.

The car soon drove onto Qianlima Side Street.

After politely thanking her, Fu Yu watched as Liu Yunong drove into the traffic before he turned and returned to his dormitory.

At the same time, at Bei’an International Airport, the 43-year-old returned overseas Chinese Lv Tianyi was warmly greeted by the reception staff and taken to the parking lot to board the business vehicle headed for the city center.

This time, Lv Tianyi returned to the country with the specific intention of investing and setting up a factory in his hometown, Bei’an.

After high school, he was admitted to a renowned overseas university with excellent grades.

He went on to earn dual doctoral degrees, then smoothly entered a top national electronics technology company, working for seven years, amassing substantial relevant experience, before starting his own electronics technology company from scratch.

Due to his unique vision, sharp market insights, and good personnel management, he expanded and strengthened the company in a short span of time.

Two years later, the company successfully went public.

Since then, he had been busy with the company’s development, until this year, when he proactively contacted his hometown’s government with the idea of returning to set up a factory there.

The city leadership was immediately excited!

A renowned overseas entrepreneur, a billionaire, wanting to return and invest in building a factory—such a great opportunity that they couldn’t have asked for!

So naturally, both sides were willing... boom!

They hit it off immediately!

On the very day of Lv Tianyi’s return, the city leaders specially sent a car for airport pick-up.

He would be directly taken to a pre-arranged hotel for check-in.

In the following days, it was all about site selection and field inspections; additionally, they would see if Lv Tianyi could contribute in some way to the hometown’s development, or offer any effective suggestions regarding the development plan.

After all, as a successful returned overseas Chinese with wide exposure, he might offer valuable insights.

Lv Tianyi got into the car, sitting in the passenger seat, while the reception personnel automatically took the back seat.

Since they were unfamiliar with each other, after introducing themselves, they resorted to small talk to break the ice.

The person sent was a district financial office leader, Deputy Director Wang Peng.

Wang Peng, being able to serve as a Deputy Director at the financial office, not only had strong personal capabilities but also excelled in eloquence.

Although meeting for the first time, he could quickly bridge the gap between them with a few words.

It started with polite self-introductions and inquiries about the journey’s experiences and feelings.

Then, somehow, the conversation turned, and the atmosphere gradually became more friendly and relaxed.

The topics drifted towards day-to-day matters and cordial small talk.

”Speaking of which, our city participated in a national charm city evaluation this year, and many basic infrastructures have been rebuilt and renovated.”

”President Lv, upon returning this time, seeing the city’s new look, do you feel a sense of freshness and renewal?”

Hearing this, Lv Tianyi turned to look at the cityscape of high rises and bustling shops outside the car window.

He had left his hometown over twenty years ago.

The city in his memory and the scenery before him were completely different.

Yet, among the revamped skyscrapers, he occasionally spotted some familiar old places.

For instance, though lacking walls, one could spot the artificial lake inside Xinglin Lake Park at first glance.

And at the corner they just passed, there was the school where he had studied for three years during junior high.

During his twenty-plus years abroad studying and starting a business, he had often missed his hometown’s scenery and the familiar and warm images in his memory, which no experiences abroad could replace.

Fortunately, he had finally realized the grand wish he made when he first went abroad.

He had come back!

This time, he was not only planning to invest in a factory in Bei’an for the benefit of the local people but also to develop the factory to expand nationwide, centering it in Bei’an.

Benefiting the country and people, giving back to his homeland.

Thinking of this, Lv Tianyi withdrew his glance and turned to Wang Peng, exclaiming, ”Indeed, the changes are significant; I can hardly recognize many places. Yet some old buildings still retain a shadow of the past, which is very nostalgic!”

Wang Peng quickly agreed, ”Yes indeed, besides putting a lot of manpower and resources into basic infrastructure, our city also places great emphasis on local specialties and cuisine.”

Mentioning hometown cuisine, Lv Tianyi’s eyes lit up, and he remembered something, asking with interest, ”By the way, I recall there was a time-honored restaurant in our city that served very authentic dishes. I wonder if it’s still open?”

Wang Peng curiously asked, ”Which restaurant are you referring to?”

Lv Tianyi replied, ”Qianlima Restaurant!”

Regarding this restaurant, Lv Tianyi had vivid memories.

Although his family had decent conditions since his childhood, his parents always adhered to the notion of raising sons austere and daughters lavish, so while they cherished him, they did not spoil him excessively.

Thus, high-spending outings to places like Qianlima for meals were always considered as rewards.

In school, after every midterm or final exam, as long as he ranked in the top ten of his grade, he could go for a sumptuous meal with his parents.

Thus, to Lv Tianyi, besides being delicious, Qianlima’s cuisine also symbolized an emblem of honor.

Upon hearing about Qianlima, Wang Peng’s eyes brightened.

Qianlima’s seafood dishes were indeed very authentic.

He would often visit here for banquets with leaders or gatherings with friends and family.

Besides the excellent taste, the owner was also very hospitable.

The restaurant had special private rooms reserved for guests with special statuses like them.

With a quick mental calculation, Wang Peng made up his mind. Taking advantage of the moment when Lv Tianyi was answering a phone call, he quickly reported the reception situation to the leaders via a message.

He particularly emphasized Lv Tianyi’s nostalgia for hometown dishes and the mention of Qianlima Restaurant.

As expected, just as he anticipated, the leaders swiftly replied, instructing him to arrange for the welcoming banquet to shift from Four Seas Banquet to Qianlima.

Wang Peng promptly agreed to the arrangement.

First, he messaged his acquaintance at Four Seas Banquet to cancel the evening reservation.

Then he sent a message to his contact at Qianlima to reserve the evening’s banquet.

After Lv Tianyi finished his call, Wang Peng subtly inquired about his culinary preferences, tactfully getting him to name a few favored dishes from his memory.

After gathering the information, Wang Peng directly sent the menu to his contact at Qianlima.
