The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

It’s just eleven o’clock now, still early before Lin Minghao’s afternoon exam.

Compared to returning a favor to Luo Rang, eating later is not a big deal.

Seeing Fu Yu agree, Luo Rang was delighted, feeling a bit more at ease.

Although Fu Yu is young, Luo Rang holds him in high regard.

After several interactions, Luo Rang deeply realized that this young peer in front of him is very impressive, even surpassing his own skills.

Just now, impulsively asking Fu Yu to come over for help was a subconscious action after seeing him.

But now hearing Fu Yu agree, Luo Rang realized that his initial worry instantly calmed down.

It seemed like as long as Fu Yu was willing to help, the matter would be resolved easily.

This unfounded trust in the other person arose at some point, without Luo Rang knowing when.

At this moment, it felt more like an extra insurance to Luo Rang.

Working in the restaurant industry is like this, with a large audience and all kinds of customers. Due to this particularity, it is impossible to have everything under control!

The two of them walked together to room 305.

Just as they turned the corridor, the waiter in charge of this area hurried over.

”Chef Luo, you’re here!” The waiter named Shi Xueshuang, in her mid-twenties, was already an old hand at the restaurant, but she still showed great respect when she saw Luo Rang.

In contrast, Luo Rang had clearly become accustomed to being respected by the staff.

He has worked at Four Seas Banquet for nearly twenty years.

He is almost fully responsible for the kitchen.

In the front hall, if there was a problem that couldn’t be resolved and the boss was not in, they would come to him to help coordinate.

As the saying goes among the people in the restaurant, he carries the title of a chef but does the work of a deputy boss.

Luo Rang glanced at the door of room 305 and asked in a low voice, ”What’s the matter?”

Shi Xueshuang, while leading the way, said, ”The customer ordered all the dishes with lamb bones in the restaurant and tried each one. All the bones were cleaned thoroughly, but he didn’t find the type of lamb bone he was looking for.”

Luo Rang was slightly taken aback, looking for lamb bones?

In this situation, shouldn’t he just buy a whole lamb from the market?

Why come to eat lamb spine hotpot?

Thinking of this, Luo Rang asked, ”What kind of lamb bone does he want to eat? Did you find out?”

The delicious bone-in parts of a lamb, besides the lamb leg, lamb chops, lamb head, and lamb feet, are the lamb tail.

And these parts, except for the whole lamb head, their restaurant has corresponding dishes for the others.

But because it’s a hotpot, the lamb is served in slices, and only the lamb chop, lamb feet, and lamb tail are served with bones.

Shi Xueshuang said, ”I asked, but the customer doesn’t know the exact position of the lamb bone. He only said that it was given to him as a gift by elders when he was a child, and he suddenly recalled it, so he came over to find it.”

”But... the customer said that particular lamb bone was quite special, very beautifully shaped, and could be spun around for fun.”

By this time, Shi Xueshuang had already led them to the private room door.

After hearing her description, Luo Rang was stunned.

Lamb bone with a beautiful shape that can be spun around for fun?

Quickly scanning through various bones of a lamb in his mind, Luo Rang was at a loss. What could that be?

The lamb used in Four Seas Banquet is whole lamb directly brought back from the slaughterhouse every day.

From lamb head to lamb tail, all parts of the lamb can be processed into dishes for customers to choose from.

And in the kitchen, when deboning, they don’t clean all the meat from the bones completely. A thin layer of lamb meat is left on parts like the skull and leg bones for broth making.

According to the customer’s description, that lamb bone doesn’t seem like the skull bone or the ribs, nor is it the lamb spine.

It’s very particularly shaped and can be spun around for fun.

It sounds like a lamb tailbone.

But the lamb tail supplied in the restaurant is brought to the table with the bone, since the customer ordered, it means it’s not this part.

Luo Rang became curious about what position the bone is from.

Indeed a strange request!

After understanding the situation, Luo Rang did not rush into the private room but turned to ask in a low voice, ”Chef Fu, what do you think of this?”

Fu Yu stood beside, not saying a word, just quietly listening to Luo Rang communicating with Shi Xueshuang.

Through Shi Xueshuang’s description, he roughly judged the location and shape of the lamb bone...Fu Yu suddenly felt that the customer’s words were very familiar, similar to a piece of text in his memory.

He just couldn’t recall exactly where he had seen it before.

Fu Yu was dressed in casual clothes and although he followed Luo Rang over, Shi Xueshuang didn’t pay much attention to him.

But at this time, seeing Luo Rang humbly ask Fu Yu for a solution, Shi Xueshuang was stunned.

She couldn’t help taking another look at Fu Yu.

No more than in his early twenties, looking very spirited.

So young, could he really be so skilled?

Fu Yu thought for a moment and voiced his guess: ”It should be the joint of the lamb leg bone.”

He spoke with certainty and determination.

Luo Rang was taken aback hearing his words: ”Lamb leg bone?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Let’s communicate with the customer first and see if he has any other requests besides this.”

Luo Rang looked at Shi Xueshuang and said, ”Let’s go, lead us in.”

Shi Xueshuang knocked on the door, and when the customers inside the private room looked toward the doorway, she led Luo Rang and Fu Yu in, introducing, ”Hello, this is our restaurant’s chef.”

Luo Rang stepped forward and greeted the customers.

At first meeting, he realized the customers were a pair of twin sisters, seemingly in their early fifties, dressed very elegantly.

The two sat together, and upon hearing him, they both raised their heads to look over.

The elder sister had her hair neatly bunned at the back and was eating marrow from the lamb spine with a straw while wearing gloves.

Seeing Luo Rang, she put down the lamb spine and asked, ”Are there any other dishes with lamb bone in your restaurant? None of these on the table seem to be the one we are looking for.”

Luo Rang paused to think, then asked, ”Since you specifically came to find a lamb bone, could you please describe in detail the part or type of lamb bone you are looking for?”

”Our restaurant buys whole lambs, so as long as it’s a bone from the lamb, we can definitely find it. It’s just that bones like the leg bone, which can’t be used in dishes, are directly used in the kitchen to make broth.”

As long as the exact location is known, it’s not hard to scoop out a few lamb bones from the soup pot.

The younger sister sitting next to her took off her gloves and shook her head: ”We don’t know what position it is, only that it’s a lamb bone. We only played with it when we were children. At that time, we went to visit family friends with our elders, and they gave it to us to play with.”

The elder sister also said: ”That thing is quite rare, no one played with it in our hometown, and we forgot about it later. But a few days ago, we talked about it and remembered this toy.”
