The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Fu Yu held onto his ID card.

This was still from when he came to Bei’an to study, and he got it together with his classmates at school.

He looked at the boy: ”You want evidence, right? Then let’s make it clear first. If I show it to you, are you going to kneel and call me Dad? Or go to the school’s broadcasting room and apologize to me in front of all the students? You have to put up something as a bet; it can’t be just you saying something and I do it. That would be so embarrassing for me.”

The boy hesitated.

Although having fifty thousand people watch a live stream is indeed challenging for newbies like them, looking at his confident demeanor, it didn’t seem like he was just bluffing.

For a moment, he felt unsure and a bit scared to hastily agree to this bet.

”Scaredy-cat, you’ve grown in age but not in brains.”

Fu Yu put away his ID card into his wallet, casually took out his phone, brought up a contact from his address book, and showed the details to the boy with a shake.

”You still want me to show you evidence, who do you think you are?”

The phone paused in front of the boy, enough for him to clearly see what was on it.

Contact: Liu Yiming

Phone number: 187****

Fu Yu glanced at the boy, lazily taking back his phone.

”If I really wanted to compare backgrounds with you, I’d scare you to death, believe it or not?”

All the students at Qiming E-commerce Training School know that the principal, Bo Ming, is actually named Liu Yiming.

Lin Minghao stood there with his mouth agape, watching the whole scene until Fu Yu turned around and called him: ”Why are you just standing there like a fool? The exam’s over, can’t we leave?”

Lin Minghao snapped back to reality and quickly ran over to follow Fu Yu.

The morning exams were over, and until before the afternoon exams began, students were allowed to move freely.

Lin Minghao jogged to catch up with Fu Yu: ”Bro, you know...”

Fu Yu was walking out of the teaching building, and Lin Minghao followed behind, with a silly, excited grin on his face: ”Bro, bro... let me treat you to a meal...”

”Still calling me that, can’t even win an argument, no wonder you get bullied.”

”I, I’ll definitely win next time. Damn! I’m just too lazy to deal with him. I’m telling you, he’s just an idiot, can’t talk sense into him. Bro, you have no idea...”

Fu Yu listened to Lin Minghao recount the events along the way and glared at him: ”I’m telling you, stop always thinking about how to prove your innocence. If people believed you, they wouldn’t be picking fights in the first place, no need to bother, the only aim in arguing is to annoy them to death.”

Lin Minghao looked at him with admiration: ”Got it!”

When they left the school, Lin Minghao asked, ”Bro, you didn’t go to work today?”

Fu Yu: ”I took a day off just to come check on you. Your mom called my house, and your aunt asked me to come take a look, in case something happened to you.”

Lin Minghao was surprised: ”My mom? How did she know what’s going on with me at school... damn, I got it, she and my dad had dinner with one of my roommates...”

Fu Yu: ”Taking a break to come here, do you regret it?”

Lin Minghao shook his head: ”I wouldn’t say regret, after all, the faculty and facilities here are really good—that was my reason for coming in the first place. But after arriving, I don’t actually think it’s that great.”

”Even though management is strict, with practically no opportunities for cheating or bribery during studies and exams, quite a few students here come from well-off families with connections, and some are relatives of those who got in through those networks, so there’s a lot of clique forming and competing over family background.”

”Sigh.” Lin Minghao sighed, feeling a bit down: ”I just have a slightly better appearance and fashion sense, look like I have it together. But actually, my family situation is worse than they think, and my parents still haven’t forgiven me. My living allowance is almost at its limit, and I spend money very cautiously, not daring to splurge at all.”

”All I want when I’m here is to study hard, don’t want to mess with them about useless stuff.” Lin Minghao said indignantly: ”Some people at school are really sarcastic, but my grades are better than theirs anyway. But to say I’m clinging to rich women, or that I bought my grades with money, I can’t tolerate that.”

”Back then, Sister Liu was just being kind and drove me to school. I hadn’t even been in contact with her before. But someone saw it, and they insist Sister Liu drives a luxury car and that I’m a kept man.”

Didn’t expect that the origin of this issue was because Fu Yu introduced Lin Minghao to Liu Yici.

What a mess.

Fu Yu: ”Ahem, just ignore them. An upright person shouldn’t fear a crooked shadow. I’m telling you, don’t worry too much about others’ opinions. Speaking from my experience, strength speaks for itself. For those who gossip, just win enough for them to shut up.”

A sparkle appeared in Lin Minghao’s eyes.

”Let’s not talk about these annoyances anymore, come on, I’ll treat you to a good meal for lunch.”

Fu Yu wrapped an arm around Lin Minghao’s shoulder, leading him to the roadside to flag a taxi.

Once in the taxi, Fu Yu instructed the driver: ”Sir, to Four Seas Banquet.”

Lin Minghao’s eyes lit up at once: ”Bro, we’re going to eat lamb spine hotpot?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Yep, last time I went to eat, Chef Luo gave me two vouchers.”

Actually, those two vouchers were meant for Fu Yu’s parents.

Last time when their family came to eat, Fu Yu helped Luo Rang solve a problem, and Luo Rang was very grateful.

Not only did he insist on inviting them and paying the bill, but he also slipped two vouchers to Mr. Fu, for them to come back before leaving to have another meal.

In the end, Fu Yu’s parents hurried off and didn’t get a chance to use them.

Once there, Fu Yu led Lin Minghao into Four Seas Banquet.

For a meal for two, Fu Yu didn’t ask for a private room. As they followed the server to their seats, all of a sudden Luo Rang, wearing his chef’s uniform, walked swiftly towards them.

Fu Yu quickly greeted him, but Luo Rang didn’t respond at all, looking serious and in a hurry.

Immediately, Fu Yu became curious, calling out: ”Chef Luo?”

Luo Rang turned his head upon hearing and was surprised: ”Chef Fu? What brings you here?”

Fu Yu smiled and said: ”I brought my brother here for lamb spine hotpot, this is my brother, Lin Minghao.”

Hearing that it was Fu Yu’s brother, Luo Rang quickly greeted Lin Minghao warmly.

He even specifically instructed the server leading them: ”This is my friend, find them a private room, and put the order on my tab later.”

Upon hearing this, the server quickly agreed, and even his eyes looked different when he glanced at Fu Yu and Lin Minghao again.

Having just been wronged by his classmates, Lin Minghao now felt proud with Fu Yu’s support and immediately felt a sense of release.

After making arrangements, Luo Rang looked at Fu Yu, suddenly remembering something: ”Chef Fu, just in time, there’s a strange person I’ve encountered, can you help me check it out?”

Hearing this, Fu Yu became curious as well and quickly nodded: ”Sure!”
