The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

At this moment, everyone in the kitchen was busy and running around.

The assistants were hurriedly chopping and preparing ingredients.

Liu Zhangpeng stood in front of the kitchen counter, cooking with bold and decisive movements.

For a moment, everyone seemed a bit anxious and uneasy.

Wang Yulong’s right hand already had noticeable blisters from a burn.

He went to the changing room to apply burn ointment.

Just as he was about to return to the kitchen, he ran into Zhang Conglin, who was heading to the kitchen with an order slip.

Wang Yulong called out, ”Xiaozhang, just give the order slip to me.”

Seeing Wang Yulong, Zhang Conglin quickly asked with concern, ”Chef Wang, is your hand okay?”

Wang Yulong showed him the obvious blisters on his fingers.

Zhang Conglin took a deep breath: ”It’s that serious? How about going to the hospital for a check-up?”

Wang Yulong shook his head: ”No need, I’ve applied medication, and the blisters will heal in a few days.”

Zhang Conglin was relieved.

You know, this restaurant is currently being sustained entirely by Wang Yulong. Although the owner, Liu Yunong, visits every day, everyone knows this is just temporary.

Once the restaurant’s promotion and operations are on track, the busy owner will certainly leave immediately.

Ultimately, this restaurant will be handed over to the current staff.

The front of the house is managed by Zhang Conglin, while the kitchen is headed by Wang Yulong.

Zhang Conglin handed the order slip to Wang Yulong, specifically reminding, ”This order slip is an addition. Just now, in a hurry, I directly used the intercom to report the dish names to the kitchen.”

Wang Yulong paused, instinctively glancing at the dishes on the order slip.

At a glance, he couldn’t help but ask in surprise, ”Why did they order six servings of stuffed tofu?”

Zhang Conglin explained, ”It’s a family of three. They specially called this morning to ask about today’s menu. After hearing about the stuffed tofu, they came over to dine.”

So they came specifically for this dish; no wonder.

Zhang Conglin continued, ”Chef Wang, the customers are in a hurry. They have something else to handle later, so they hope the kitchen can serve the dishes quickly. When I wanted to write the order slip, they wouldn’t let me, saying I could add it later, urging me to quickly report the order to the kitchen, fearing any delay.”

Wang Yulong’s expression changed immediately.

Stuffed tofu!

To be honest, this dish isn’t a traditional specialty passed down by the Liu Family.

Instead, an ancestor of the Liu Family happened to taste this dish during a trip to Guangdong and was impressed by its appearance and taste, so they learned how to cook it.

However, after two generations of improvements, this stuffed tofu has now become a distinctive signature dish of Liu Family Cuisine.

By using authentic traditional cooking methods, coupled with a seasoning ratio that fits modern tastes,

you wouldn’t find such a delicious stuffed tofu even in Guangdong.

But indeed, this dish is delicious!

The difficulty of cooking it is also a significant test of a chef’s skills.

Especially for Liu Family Cuisine. When cooking stuffed tofu, to ensure the best taste and the most authentic flavor, it uses fresh tofu instead of the oil tofu commonly used by ordinary restaurants.

Even if Wang Yulong cooked this dish personally, it would take at least half an hour.

Even if his hand wasn’t injured, with both him and Liu Zhangpeng working together, it would still take an hour to complete all the dishes.

The situation isn’t good!

Wang Yulong, holding the order slip, quickly headed to the kitchen.

Liu Zhangpeng was busy wielding the wok, while Fu Yu was skillfully assisting beside him.

The assistants were busy preparing ingredients and kitchenware.

The atmosphere seemed very bustling.

Wang Yulong went over, handed the order slip to Fu Yu, and turned to ask Liu Zhangpeng, ”Have the ingredients for the stuffed tofu table begun preparation?”

Fu Yu glanced at the order slip, saw it was an additional order, and casually stuck it on the kitchen wall.

Without stopping his hands, Liu Zhangpeng replied, ”I’ve already asked them to prepare it, and it’ll be ready soon!”

Seeing the heap of order slips on the kitchen wall made Fu Yu anxious for Liu Zhangpeng.

There were five order slips in total, two for large banquet tables, two for small, and one that directly ordered six servings of stuffed tofu.

Completing these tables would take at least two hours.

The overall situation wasn’t promising.

They had to cook quickly and get the dishes out as soon as possible.

Liu Zhangpeng was sweating profusely, but there was no use in rushing. He only had two hands. Hearing Wang Yulong’s question made him even more anxious.

Wang Yulong’s expression was equally serious. He asked, ”What’s the situation now? How many tables’ orders are left? Are there any that haven’t been served yet?”

Ever since Wang Yulong returned, Liu Zhangpeng had secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Wang Yulong was the backbone of the entire kitchen.

Now, hearing the inquiry, Liu Zhangpeng quickly reported the situation: ”There are a total of five orders. Three tables have already started being served, one is being cooked, and this one with six servings of stuffed tofu hasn’t been started yet.”

What Liu Zhangpeng said made Wang Yulong frown slightly.

These were just the current orders; the front could send new orders anytime.

And Liu Zhangpeng still hadn’t served any dishes for two tables.

Time is tight, and the task is heavy!

In such a situation, someone had to help share the load.

And to make things worse, his hand was injured.

The blisters on his index and middle fingers hurt terribly with just a slight movement.

In this condition, there was no way he could handle cooking.

Wang Yulong, calm and serious, showed no panic at all, carefully reviewed the specific dishes on several order slips, and asked the assistants about their progress in arranging the dishes.

Wang Yulong methodically adjusted the order of preparations for the assistants and said to Liu Zhangpeng, ”How much minced meat do you have? Enough for a few trays of stuffed tofu?”

While pouring the stir-fried dish from the wok into a plate, Liu Zhangpeng replied, ”I’ve chopped a pound, but it hasn’t been mixed yet!”

”I’ve already had them chop the mushrooms; I noticed there were still chunks, so I had them redo it.”

Wang Yulong checked the minced meat and mushroom paste.

The minced meat was fine, but the mushrooms still had chunks.

”The mushrooms need more chopping!”

Wang Yulong called someone over to tackle the task.

The assistant preparing tofu carried over a steaming basin of tofu.

Wang Yulong knew what needed to be done and said, ”Alright, let’s start cooking the stuffed tofu now!”

Liu Zhangpeng hesitated, ”Master... I still have another dish to stir-fry before I can free up my hands. Shouldn’t we wait a bit?”

Wang Yulong pointed to the order slips on the wall and asked, ”I can wait, but can the customers wait?”

The phrase ”Can the customers wait” sent a shiver through Fu Yu’s heart.

Liu Zhangpeng looked puzzled at Wang Yulong and asked, ”Master, what should we do then?”

Wang Yulong didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he turned to Fu Yu and, word by word, earnestly said, ”Xiaofu, you’ll cook this dish!”
